    Bacon fried rice
    Christopher V.

Got to try them at Merced's Supermrkt. The wings were very crispy and juicy. The sauce though was just okay. It was just sweet, so I wish it had some spice to balance it out. The service was great, but it did take about 20 minutes to get the food. The fried rice was also good, but it needed more flavor. I thought since it had bacon it would be salty, but it was a bit too simple for my liking.

Phet Noi's Kitchen was so good! The whole setup is simple, just a small food truck with some seating a lighting, but the food tastes like something you'd get from a cozy family restaurant. Everything we tried was hot, fresh, and super flavorful. The bacon fried rice and crispy angel wings were especially delicious and came out with that perfect mix of savory and slightly sweet. Ask for their hot sauce, it's home made and super good! Their Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee are also worth it. On top of that, the owners were really friendly and quick, and it was easy to pay with cash, card, or Venmo. If you see Phet Noi's Kitchen around, definitely stop and grab something to eat, you won't regret it.

Amazing food, a little expensive but really delicious and presentation is exquisite…read more Papaya salad- very spicy, sweet, salty. Great flavors. $17 Whole coconut $7 very nice, soft creamy coconut meat. Corn fritters - 10 pieces of fried corn fritters (no egg) comes with a sweet chili sauce (housemade) $14 (a little too expensive) Crab pad Thai- $25 with cheese. Sweet and saucy. Crab was maybe a canned crab? Not sure. Pretty good, probably will get it without. Crab next time. Came with fried tofu. Mango sticky rice- $12 surprisingly disappointing- sticky rice was a little too hard and too sweet.

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE THE FOOD AND SERVICE!!! My experience was rude disrespectful and disgusting!!!…read more I took both of my daughters here after school to get mango sticky rice to go, and they also ordered noodles. Unfortunately, this turned into a terrible experience. As we were driving home, my daughter started eating her mango sticky rice and said, "Mommy, there's a long hair in my rice." I looked and saw a long black hair cooked into the rice. Before touching anything, I took a picture of it. I immediately turned around and went back to the restaurant. I told the woman at the counter that there was a hair in my daughter's rice. She responded, "This has never happened before." I told her, "Well, it happened this time." She then said she couldn't see the hair. The restaurant was so dark that I had to turn on the flashlight on my phone just to show it to her. I eventually pulled the hair out of the rice myself and handed it directly to her. She took the hair from my hand and went toward the back. Another woman came out and said she didn't see any hair. I explained that the first woman had already taken the hair from my hand. When I asked for a refund, I was told that I couldn't get one because my daughter had already eaten some of the rice. I explained that she had to eat some of it in order to discover the hair that was cooked into it. My other daughter kept her food, and I even said I would accept a partial refund. The woman continued arguing with me about the refund. I told her this was bad customer service and that if they are preparing and serving food, they need to make sure hair isn't getting into customers' meals and should be wearing proper hair restraints. I then told her that I had a picture of the hair while it was still cooked into the rice and could show it to her. That is when she finally decided to give me my refund. While giving me the refund, instead of apologizing, she proceeded to tell me to get out of the restaurant, never come back again, and that she was going to call the police on me. I couldn't believe the way this was handled. Finding a hair cooked into my daughter's food was bad enough. But denying what I was showing them, taking the actual hair from my hand and then acting as though there was no hair, refusing the refund until I mentioned that I had photographic proof, and then threatening to call the police while telling me never to return was completely unacceptable customer service. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant. What matters is how a business handles them. A simple apology and refund would have ended the situation immediately. I have the picture of the hair cooked into the rice. We definitely will not be returning.
