One of the most beautiful experiences of my life! Our guides Eric and jomer were super knowledgeable and sweet. The scenery was something out of a postcard. I would def recommend everyone to try this! My only complaint was I got attacked by a bunch of Mosquitos but of course that's not anyone's fault lol. Ohhh and I wish we came during the summer cause then all the fruit would be ripe. Yunke zip line is on a private mango reserve. Saw a bunch of baby mangos but none ripe enough to eat. read more

Was able to get a spot last minute and we are so thankful we did! Rocqui & Jomar were amazing tour guides. The zip lines were extremely fun with amazing views, but the knowledge that was shared with us by Rocqui was something that stood out just as much! He clearly knows his stuff... Everything from plant/animal species to island history and more! These guys were very safe, but also had a laid back attitude to an extent. It was the perfect balance. Definitely recommend!!! Well worth the $99 per person, this ziplining experience surpassed the expectations that both my brother and I had going into it. Roqui and Eric are suuuuper knowledgable about both ziplining and the rainforest itself, so you're made to feel extremely comfortable about the fact that you'll be zooming over the forest on a pulley. Our tour began with about a half hour of Eric explaining the safety and mechanics behind the ziplining. We then got into our harnesses and embarked on our adventure. The first three ziplines featured incredible views and weren't far from where we began. To get to the next two, we hiked through the forest for about ten minutes - the hike itself doesn't cover much distance, but it is uphill and isn't paved so watch your footing! We stopped frequently for Roqui to share info about various wildlife, animals, and history of the rainforest and PR... very educational and have a nice breather from the hike! The last two ziplines were incredible and the tour finished with a rappel down a tree. Overall, we loved this experience and would both do it again and recommend it to others. We had ten in our group, so with two guides, we noticed the personalized attention - both guides learned our names right at the beginning and used them throughout the tour. My impression is that you don't get that kind of friendliness from other ziplines in the area. If you have any hesitancy about doing ziplining through these guys, doubt no further! read more

I was extremely hesitant in booking a zipline due to my fear of heights. I sucked it up for my husband's birthday and do not regret doing so one bit. LOVED this adventure and most of all our guides Eric and Jamar. If you are like me, and get vertigo while being high up and or are scared of heights, do yourself a favor and do NOT skip this adventure! I promise you, that will not play a factor in your enjoyment. We met Eric at a meeting point about 3 minutes from the actual YZA house. There were three groups with 14 people total, so not too many people. I want to say that first half an hour was used for filling out forms, getting proper fitted equipment and orientation of the zipline. Immediately Eric made me feel at ease with his easy going personality, humor and knowledge of the safety of ziplining. We started out with a small zip line to get everyone acquainted with the process of ziplining. It was my first time and I loved the exhilaration that comes with soaring through the tree tops and beautiful views of mountains right off the bat. We did an additional and a slightly longer zipline after the first one. Both Eric and Jomar (our other guide) did all the grunt work of hooking our carabiners up, unhooking them and guiding us through the ziplining process. They were very friendly and fun. They refered to everyone by their first name right off the bat, which impressed me greatly. After the second zipline we hiked for about 20 minutes through the rainforest. Eric did an awesome job describing the ecology of El Yunke and pointing out interesting nature stuff. We got extremely lucky with the sunny weather and no rain. The last three ziplines were just as fun as the first two with the 5th and final zipline being the longest and having the prettiest views. It ended on a platform of a pretty tall tree. At last there was an assisted rope rappel off the platform. Again, as my fear of heights was kicking in, Eric immediately nipped it in the butt by making me feel comfortable while demonstrating the safety of the carabiners and joking the whole time. The repelling ended up being very exciting as well. As you might think that $95/person is a pretty price tag for this experience, let me assure you that its well worth it! It was such a fun-filled morning and superseded all my expectations. My whole group thought the same. Our only complaint was that we wished there were a few more ziplines. My recommendation would be to buy cheap sneakers that could be tossed later at wallmart and bring lots of bug spray. Although, they did offer that as well at the lodge. read more

We went on a family trip to Puerto Rico last week and decided this would be a great time to overcome our fear of heights and go ziplining. Talk about family bonding time...my husband, sister-and-brother-in-law and 15yr old nephew all signed up for this experience and by the end (grand finale is rappelling down a 50-ft tree) we had never felt closer! I can't say enough about how fantastic the instructors aka "rainforest experts" were. Jomar and Roqui really helped us feel at ease before we soared above the trees and trusted them with our lives. By the 5th and final zipline I actually released my death-grip on the safety lock and enjoyed the amazing scenery. If you are looking to experience ziplining near El Yunque Rainforest this is it! Our group of four had a fantastic time with YZA. Eric Alejandro and Jomar were the perfect pair of guides, good humored and able to make a group with lots of different ages and "factors" (attitude, experience, weight!) all feel super comfortable and able to enjoy the spectacular rainforest. There are five zip lines, none of them requiring anything terribly challenging from the rider, and all of them offering great views of the Luquillo mountains, the rainforest and the hills and valleys within. We also saw snails, rare birds, fruits and some crazy trees and vines. And lizards. Lotsa lizards. YZA is a private company leasing private land which but for this business might end up developed, and the staff make a point of thanking all for our little part in conserving it. Both Eric and Jomar had answers to all of our questions about the flora and the fauna (and there is a lot to ask about) and shared just the right amount of info on all. At the end of the zip lining, there is a really fun rappel down a 100 year old tree, and both Eric and Jomar are happy to make recommendations on lunch spots, hikes in the National Forest, and whatever else you might want to know from them. They couldn't possibly have been better at this and we were all super grateful to have made their acquaintance as well as to have had the opportunity to zip line through this amazing piece of PR. read more

Our tour guides, Roqui & Yomar were very good. They put our group at ease. Roqui was really good at explaining different aspects of the adventure. I have had not-so-great zip lining experiences before so I had butterflies going in. But hey, these guys showed us some techniques which made it easy for us to enjoy the experience. The equipment is new (as of 11/2015) and reliable. The lines are fun. The first one eases you into the activity. They said there was a friendly iguana waiting to greet us but I didn't see it. The tour guides made good conversations with all the guests; there were only 6 of us so perhaps that makes it easy. The views are great. The group learned quite some trivia about the ecosystem. This was a great experience. I would strongly recommend Yunque Zip. Please tip generously. Neg: If the tour company do not have a certain number of visitors they may call you to reschedule. The customer rep did lie to us about rescheduling on account of "bad" weather. The guides told us the real story that they didn't have sufficient number of people because of which they had to reschedule. Also, the price quoted varies. We paid $105 per person but it seems to be negotiable. read more

AMAZING! Not only were we surprised by the 5 ziplines, but they were dispersed throughout the rainforest. We zipped through the forest with amazing views, it was so fun. This was the nicest experience of our trip. We weren't expecting it to be as good as it was. Started off a little sketched out because they have you meet by a basketball court then follow them up, but it would be impossible to find if not done that way. We had Edny, Reynard and Eric as guides and they were amazing. Beside the amazing view and obvious thrill of it, their personalities are what really makes the experience come together. At the end, there is a moment were you repel down a tree - that part might be challenging to someone with a fear of heights, but it was doable : )! I am not one to do anything high up with my terrible fear of heights. But my kids 14 and 17 were begging to go. So we didn't want them to go without us so we decided to be brave and go. I almost turned around on the first zip line but the tour guides were so convincing that they gave me some confidence to take that first plunge. When I got to the other side the adrenaline rush was awesome! I then proceeded to enjoy the next 4 rides. You feel very safe and in between get some nature lessons. SO MUCH FUN! We were a group of 13 with 3 tour guides Jorgito, Fernando and Edny. It felt like a private tour of the jungle as we wandered from zip line to zip line. The repelling at the end was fun too. We didn't see anyone else the whole time! We felt very safe and cared for. They are very professional and very fun at the same time. This place is by far the best value for your money in the ziplines around El Yunque. Rocqui, the owner, leads most groups himself and is extremely knowledgable about the local ecology. He and Jomar were very patient with the more apprehensive members of our group and made it a fun and educational experience for everyone. Rocqui even gives his cell phone number out and invites groups to text him for directions and restaurant recommendations in the area if needed. I had a truly fantastic experience here. I am afraid of heights and felt very uneasy about the whole experience, but Eric made me feel very comfortable. I stood on the zipline platform and said "I can't do this" and almost went back, but then I did it and lost all my fears! It was wonderful. Jomar and Eric were fantastic guides and made the Zip-lining experience very safe, enjoyable, and very educational. They are a wealth of information and were very open to providing additional tips and advice for the remainder of our adventures around Puerto Rico. Regarding the Zip-lining tour: We started the morning off with lessons on safe zip-lining practices, how to appropriately handle the equipment, and an overview of the tour route we would be following (the equipment has many safety features and 5x factors of safety for designed vs expected load). We were outfitted and taken to the first zip-line after safety checks. If you have the ability to do so, try to record the entire tour start to finish. The guides are constantly dropping facts about Puerto Rico and the surrounding forest throughout the tour (I challenge you to remember the names of all the endemic species to PR!). The views are amazing! Capture them all if you can! There was a brief 2 minute bout of heavy showers during which we waited out before proceeding on the tour. Bring bug spray, water, and a camera! Anything else is either not needed or provided for you. You can leave/secure extra items at the main meeting area in between zip-line flights. Seated harness zip-lining 5 zip-lines 1 hiking portion (~1 mile total) ~2 hours total time (more if 6+ group size) $105/person if paying on site (no credit/debit transactions on site, cash/traveler check only) Great for beginners. Not a challenging activity. Highly recommended. Great guides and customer service interface. read more

Fantastic. I'm a huge wimp when it comes to hights and I was utterly terrified but I'm so glad I did it. The staff was very friendly, reassuring, and very well trained. Equipment is all safe, they all knew what they were doing, and at no point did I feel unsafe. Bit pricey ($110 with tax) but totally worth it considering I didn't die.
