You can feel their care and compassion for their patients. I made an urgent appointment for my elderly mom, who's over 80 years old. My mom had toothaches and when I spoke to the receptionist, Jessica - she took note of the urgent visit request and was able to schedule a consultation the following day. Hallelujah! Dr. Yuri was able to get us in a few days later after the consultation to remove a few of mom's infected teeth. My mom was the most CALM she's ever been at the dentist. She even gave 2 THUMBS UP after the infected tooth was removed. A lovely dentist office. I would highly recommend. Before this I was going to another dentist. I was suspicious the other dentist was coming up with imaginary cavities and dental work. I just felt like they weren't being honest. So I went to Dr Yuri for a second opinion. Sure enough, the 3 cavities and crown I supposedly needed vanished, and I really had a healthy set of teeth all along. I didn't need anything done except a cleaning. I also checked Yelp and saw that she has 5 star ratings. The office is literally 5 minutes away from my residence, which is also a plus for me. The staff is wonderful (Kristin was the dental hygienist who was personable and kind) and Dr. Kaneda has an outgoing, friendly personality, which really put me at ease. First impressions: Dr Yuri was very engaged and mindful of me and my dental problems. She actually read the form I filled out and elaborated on my notes. She asked good questions and had great insight that other doctors missed in the past. Lots of happy staff, clean facility, and warm atmosphere. Most dental offices are a bit drab and have an ominous tension. Yuri and her team had a nice buzz and hum even at 8am. There were probably 8 people in the office for one doctor which says good things about the operation: they have a lot of clients, and the staff is well taken care of. Not to put anyone on blast, but it seemed like the technicians and dental assistants were not fresh grads, meaning they have been there a while and/or Dr Yuri pays enough for families to actually make enough to live in SD. I haven't gotten any work done yet, but I still had a pleasant and productive time at my appointment. I was referred to an oral surgeon and will update how it goes when the drills start whirring. I know, my teeth suck. Last notes: Dr Yuri arrived to the office before open, unlike other offices I've been to. She is super funny and easy to talk with. And she does not have an accent which threw me for a loop since most Asian dentists do (not that there's anything bad about that, it was just surprising for me). read more

Dr. Kaneda's is a great place to go for your teeth!... Her clinic is clean and well decorated. The staff is all incredibly friendly and treats everyone like family. They know how to make you feel welcome and comfortable. They are also very flexible with scheduling. There was a few times where I've had to cancel/reschedule on short notice, and they did so without any cancellation fees or problems. Treatment is up to date and quick. Going to the Dentist was always a terrifying experience for me. Then about 15 years ago a friend highly recommended Dr. Kaneda. He had nothing but wonderful compliments. I made an and all I can say is she and her staff are amazing. Her dental hygienists are excellent. I have a few years behind me and because of her excellent care I still have ALL my teeth. The office staff is pleasant, extremely attentive and funny. Dr. Kaneda always has a smile and a very gentle technique which I appreciate. Her office is just south of Bonita. I have had about three dentists in my life and by far she is my absolute FAVORITE!! Dr. Kaneda and all the hygienists are WONDERFUL. They're welcoming and friendly all the time! I used to dread going to the dentist, but I really like this place a lot! I feel like I'd want to be friends with everyone here! The place is very clean and quiet and makes me feel very comfortable. My entire family comes here, and not just my immediate family.. my aunts, uncles, and cousins come here too! They know all of us and they make me feel at home. They've always been very professional and thorough when it came to cleaning, examining, and x-raying my teeth. They do an excellent job! I even got a special phone call recording on my birthday from them!! (: How cool is that! They always send me a reminder in the mail and one by email to say that my appointment is coming up. A few years ago my husband and I started going to dr Kaneda on a referral. The staff was very nice. At first everything was fine. Later, she place a crown on a tooth that didn't need it. My husband received a burn on his lower ilp from an xray given there. I had a chipped tooth that irritated my tongue which she filed, but seemed irritated with me because she needed to file several times. That weekend the tooth continued to irritate my tongue. I called dr Kaneda and she told me to file the tooth with a medal nail file. Really? We paid off account off and decided to not return to her office. Very unhappy with the dentist! Dr. Kaneda and her team have been the best! My family is TERRIBLE at taking care of our teeth...I know...gross, but dentists are SCARY...and PAINFUL! I mean, we all brush and SOME of us floss, but dentist visits were few and far between over the years and my hubby was scarred by another CV dentist office (basically berated for coming in only when his teeth hurt and took a patronizing attitude with him). We were putting off going to the dentist for a LONG TIME but I'd had my new insurance for over a year and haven't actually been to a dentist in a few years! I decided to get everyone "back on track" so I researched and found great reviews about this office on trusty old YELP! AND found she is part of my insurance...so double-POW, easy decision! Made the appointment and absolutely can't WAIT to go to the dentist again! My hubby who is SO SENSITIVE about his teeth doesn't ever want to leave this office or dentist...EVER. Our kid was so amazed after the visit that her teeth were WHITE! Score for us all! Their office staff is very un-intimidating and Dr. Kaneda seems to remember everybody's name (I hear her hollering-out greetings and goodbyes to everyone) and is super-funny...like a funny young auntie that 's hip! The hygienists we've had are great (Mel and Christine?). My hubby and I don't like to be wusses about stuff, but we are constantly reminded to let them know if it hurts...awww, thanks for caring! Even the receptionist is adorable! The office is clean, very organized, and unpretentious. They have up-to-date magazines as well if you're stuck waiting for someone who can obviously go by themselves, but needs you to be there "just in case" and because it makes them feel better :) ! All in all, if you have any reservations about dentists and dental hygienists, you can toss them aside and make an appointment. Dr. Yuri absolutely ROCKS! She runs a very fun and inviting dental office (unlike any I grew up with!) and even though I'm always nervous to go to the dentist, she and her staff of upbeat, kind and thorough hygienists always help to quell my fears. I also have VERY sensitive teeth in some places in my mouth (ok, maybe everywhere) and the wonderful hygienists take the time to coat my teeth with fluoride foam during my cleaning so to keep the sensitivity down. It probably takes double the time for them to clean my teeth, but they never complain. They are so patient! I'm also a huge gagger, and again, they are so patient when taking my x-rays. My teeth always feel so amazing after I get a cleaning there, too. I highly recommend this dental office! Dr. Yuri and her receptionist are also bilingual in Japanese. read more
