I have been getting my facial here serviced by Kumud. Kumud is exceptionally helpful and explains everything that she does. Very gentle and thorough. She makes me so relaxed after a busy week. I came here on Wednesday 5/12/21 and there was only one lady working in the morning. I told her I wanted to clean up my eyebrows and when I saw what she did I could not believe it. This lady over plucked the center of one of my eyebrows so much it looks ridiculous. When I showed her she said "oh I'm sorry I'm still learning"!!! I couldn't believe it. I've previously only had my brows done by Susan but since she wasn't there I had someone else do it. This person completely messed it up and I have never had my eyebrows butchered like this. If she was still being trained why was there not another expert to help teach her so she wouldn't mess up? Why would you leave an under qualified person there by themselves if they are still learning. I'm frustrated because this was my first bad experience here and it's not fair to the other qualified people who work here and to the customers who come here expecting a professional service. read more

The customer service at this facility is a joke. I called in to make facial appointments for my husband and I and was informed that unfortunately they cannot accommodate 2 appointments at the same time and they would have to be one after the other. Not a problem! Based on my packed Saturday schedule I decided not to make the appointments. However, the associate I spoke with was trying to work with me even though I kept saying it would not work with my schedule for that day. She then insisted that I leave my number so the manager can give me a call back and figure something out. I later receive a call from the manager who then told me the same thing the associate did...but guaranteed that both our appointments would be completed within my time frame. The appointment was for 1pm and he guaranteed I would be out by 2pm or 2:15pm at the latest. On the day of the appointment I arrived at 12:45pm to ensure we had some cushion in our schedule. My husband got started with his facial at 1pm and it was done at 1:45pm. I was never informed the facials were 45 mins long. Based on the timing the manager guaranteed me, I thought the facials were 30 mins long. At this point I have only 30 mins to get my facial done and I would be late to my next appointment. I then pushed back my next appointment in order to accommodate my 45 min facial. I'm ready for my facial to begin and I hear the associates arguing outside the room. There was some confusion as to who was going to be doing the facial. The girl that was scheduled to do my facial decided to take a lunch break and help out walk in customers which cut in to my facial time. It is now 2:08pm when she comes in to start my facial. Instead of apologizing for having to wait an additional 25 mins she starts going off about how this isn't her fault and she wasn't aware that she was doing this facial. I told her that I had an appointment for a reason and she continued arguing with me. At this point I am now going to be late to the appointment I had already rescheduled. So I decided to pay for the one facial and leave. As I'm paying the associate has the audacity to ask for tip because she claims she did a good job on my husbands facial at least. He wasn't too happy with his facial experience either. I have been a repeat customer at this location and another location of this establishment but it saddens me to say I will not be bringing my business here or at any of their other locations again. read more

This review is from my mother that is no longer going to be a client at this facility. Reason I'm doing the review is because she doesn't have an account nor is great with technology none the less, How do you justify selling a package deal of 3 specific wax jobs for $280 to be paid upfront and include the "tip" in advance but the third trip for the package charge an extra $65 for what ever reason we don't know. When the jobs have been the same all three times especially paying for the package deal in advance that may I remind was pushed on my mother to purchase claiming it's a better deal in the long run. Wow she was rude as hell. First of all, don't put your services on Groupon if you're going to belittle me and ask me 150 times if I've been to this location before because let me tell you something lady, no one comes back with your attitude and poor choice in music. Second of all, don't lie to me about Groupon policies if you haven't bothered to read the fine print so that I can fact check you. Lastly, don't answer the phone and get into an argument with a client when you're still touching my face. Two stars (and that's generous): one for each eye brow I walked in and out with. That's all. When it comes to beauty salons there are a lot of places out there. But I think we can all agree building trust with one specialist is what it ultimately comes to when deciding your go to place. It's what keeps you coming back and for me it's the venue at Yuva and their specialist Kumud M. The place is clean and there is almost never a wait time when I come in. I was referred by my sister and now I am also going to refer friends and family. They also have great deals to take advantage of once you become a regular. Only one star off because they are now charging a fee of $2 due to COVID-19 and I wasn't aware of this, so I didn't bring cash and she charged me extra for using my debit card. I found a deal for $5 eyebrow threading off of Groupon and it was a bit of a drive for me, but it was worth it because it was cheap and I liked how my eyebrows turned out. I had been coming to this salon for over a year and I loved all the amazing women who worked here. They are so caring and gave great attention to detail on my eyebrows. A couple months ago they hired a new young woman who has been distasteful in every interaction I have had with her. The first time she threaded my eyebrows, they were thinner than I like so the next time I asked her to just clean them up without any shaping. She was very condescending to me and seemed offended that I asked her of that and she was very aggressive with her threading, very different than the soft relaxing threading from any of the other women. The next time I got unlucky again and she was the only worker. I had just gotten my eyelashes done and after she threaded my eyebrows when applying the aloe gel, she kept pushing down on my eyelashes? Almost like she was trying to either flatten them or pull them out when there should be no contact with my eyelashes while she's threading my eyebrows. Weird behavior. My final straw when she was alone AGAIN and I overheard her asking the woman going before me where she last got her eyebrows done and started bagging on them about how wrong they were. When it was my turn, she tried to use the same line on me until I stopped her by telling her SHE did them last time. I am so sad to have to change threading salons and hope this new hire is trained properly. read more

I came here last night to get my eyebrows threaded and instantly loved the atmosphere when I walked in. The place is very clean and the music playing was really nice as well. I do not know the name of the amazing woman who threaded my brows but she had me in the chair and out in what seemed like 5 minutes. My brows came out amazing and I am so happy with them. I have not had my brows threaded in 3-4 years due to not finding a good threading place near me. That changed last night and I will definitely be coming here again. I booked a full leg and under arm wax along with a Brazilian I purchased through Groupon. The wax itself was okay, I guess. It was pretty painful, but I've just been shaving since the pandemic, so maybe that effected my pain tolerance? She left several spots of hair and left wax on me. She missed one entire knee. In the room, she told me the prices and upsold me on the chocolate wax, and told me the prices for each thing with chocolate wax. I told her I had a Groupon for the Brazilian when she asked if I wanted chocolate wax for that and she said it was fine. I assumed that was because she didn't want to heat two separate waxes. I've had to change our waxes at other places because they only wanted to use one tub versus having to clean and restart with another. Here is the part that makes this a one star review. When it was finished and I was being charged, the woman at the front desk told me to cancel my Groupon and she would charge me the same. I told her I had Groupon select so I received an extra 25% off of Groupon. She did the math and then told me to cancel it after she had be show her the voucher and she wrote down the code. I told her you couldn't cancel it after viewing the voucher and she told me to try. I showed her it didn't have the option. She told me to try again and I explained that it wouldn't let me again. She then started to ring me up, I was told $65 for full leg chocolate wax and $15 for underarm. Underarm was a little more expensive than most places ($10-12) and that should have been for the upgraded wax on such a small area. She called someone on the phone and talked for 5 minutes and then told me the price was $137. It should have been $80. She said it was $21 for the underarm and an extra $15 for the Brazilian chocolate wax, plus an 18% service charge. That comes to 127. I had $25 cash for tip. We argued about the price and what I was told and agreed to before the services were performed and she said she would remove the 18% fee but I would be responsible for tip then, which I already assumed I was. We settled on $111, not including tip. The chocolate wax is just scented wax, which you can't even smell with a mask on, she told me it would be less painful. I just moved back into the area and was trying to find a new wax salon, and it looks like I'm going to have to drive back to Huntington until I can find an honest one. read more

Like I said, I was living in a different state for several months & I don't even get my eyebrows done that often. If she or you are SO doubtful of then you can check through the sign ins of the past few months prior to when I had gone in last. . I doubt any one has my first and last name. And AGAIN the Groupon did NOT say "for 1st time customers only" it said it was for "customers who had not purchased any service at YUVA in the last 6 months". I wouldn't go here for wax services. I paid for 3 sessions for the chocolate wax. The lady told me 10 for stomach line and 15 for buttocks I was fine with that however when I get to counter it is $15 and an 18% gratuity on $50 and more..please check out my receipt and tell me how this is fair mine is $45 and the wax was already paid for previously.I am definitely not looking forward to my last wax session since I thought it was a deal turn out it's not..don't fall for it people. read more

Management: Please provide hand-held mirrors to patrons. It is easier to notice and catch hairs that were not threaded. You can't really see it in the big mirrors. Service is good. Pricing is a bit higher then other threading salons. Please expand your mask service to include haldi/turmeric mask. With that being said, Shova is the only person I will see at the salon. She is the best. Lastly, please do something to make the noise go down from the pizza place next door. The walls are really thin. And it's not professional to hear what goes on next door. read more

Pretty much the worst threading I've ever gotten. Had my eyebrow & lip done. Hairs are still between my eyebrows. She took way too much off one eyebrow!? Now they're uneven. Lets just say my brows looked better before & I should have saved the money and threaded my own lip at home. Had to have her go back and clean up my lip twice because she left hair and didn't bother to double check, and I'm not even that hairy. Very poor customer service. This lady was so rude. The owner was nice. But this lady was the worst! Won't be coming back to her & she's lucky I left her a tip. I will update with her name. The lighting and the mirrors are great inside. Really bright and clean. Free eyebrow threading for new customers. Special: purchase 5 eyebrow threadings for $25.00 regularly $40.00 ***UPDATE*** Came back because I purchased the 5 eyebrow threadings and I have received much better services since my first visit. Ok so this is going to be a bit of a "TMI" review so any men reading this, stop! Ladies, I'm talking to you. Everyone knows that getting a brazilian is a painful procedure... But its the 21st century and men expect us females to pamper and wax ourselves till our wallets and skin can't take it anymore. So before a vacation I found a groupon for a brazilian for 30$ which is a great price. Upon arrival to the salon I was greeted and asked to sign in. Two ladies were working on other clients and I only had to wait for a couple of minutes. The salon was really nice and well kept. The prices for both threading and waxing were reasonable. So far so good. The waxing experience itself was... interesting... I was taken into a very small room and told to undress from the waist down. My waxer didn't leave... I didn't really mind because I've never seen the point in leaving while I undress even though she's about to have her hands all over my naked self. I just thought it was interesting.... The wax itself hurt and she went pretty fast... but she made conversation (thank GOD) and it wasn't awkward. At the end I was talked into getting my eyebrows threaded (I needed to) and she did them very well. I will come back to YUVA most definitely. Even though it didn't have the same feel or ambiance of a nicer salon, it was affordable, had friendly staff, and it was clean. That's all you can really ask for for that price! read more

I was getting Bahn Mi sandwiches from THH and saw there's a promotion for eyebrow threading for $6 (new customer) so figure I'll go try it out. I have never done eyebrow threading before so it was quite an experience. I'm not a diligent person in upkeeping my eyebrows usually had mine waxed, which cost around $10 to $15 so seeing eyebrow threading for $6, it's like extremely sweet deal. I knew in advance that it would hurt so mentally I was prepared for it. For those who had never had eyebrow threading, the feeling is like someone using a zipper zipping up and pulling the hair out from your brow. This action doesn't really hurt on top of the brow but under the brow, it hurts quite a bit especially if you haven't upkept your brows for a while. I definitely teared up. The whole process can last about 5 to 10 minutes depending on how bushy your brows are. At the end of the session, the lady that did mine put on some gel and massage the brows. It looks pretty nice! When I went to pay, they tried to charge me $8 until I told the front desk guy it was my first time visit and I came in because I saw the promotion sign said $6 for new customer. Since I had the eyebrow threading, they tried to sell me 5 eyebrow threading sessions for $30. I'm still not sure if I liked it but they said I could put down $5 deposit to think about it if I changed my mind, just come back for the money and no question ask. The front desk guy did say that the 5 brows for $30 is pretty much good with any of the stylist. They also give you a punch card too, after 5 visits it's $1 off and after 10, you get 1 free eyebrows. I'm assuming the punch card is not limited to eyebrow threading only but for other things as well. The nice thing about this location is there's practically no wait. It probably helps too that I went around 5pm on Tuesday. I was actually surprised to see a guy there having his brows threaded while his girlfriend waited in the lobby. I always thought it was more like a woman thing but it was nice to see a guy there. So ladies, if your man has bushy brows, take him to get his brows threaded then! read more
