I can't say enough about how amazing Pros Plumbing is and Dan!!! We had a slight emergency as we found out that our basement flooded with the insane amount of rain we had been getting and it ended up putting out the water heater pilot light. We discovered this at 10:00pm on a Tuesday night so I looked up some local plumbing company and they came out within 30 mins. I would have called in the morning but I at that point we were unsure if the water heater had flooded or if it was rain water flooding that caused the light to go out. In addition I had a flight at 6:00am the next morning and there was no way I was taking a cold shower at 4:00am. Needless to say it was an emergency situation. Dan and his assistant showed up within 30 mins and helped locate the problem and worked hard to get the water heater all dried out and the pilot light lit in a very reasonable amount of time. He was very detailed in his explanation of what was wrong, any problems we should look out for, and explained it might take about 30+ mins for the hot water to fully return. Dan was not only knowledgeable with the water heater but a very honest, detail oriented, and personable professional! We will definitely be using Pros Plumbing again for any of our plumbing needs. read more

I wanted someone to look at a leaky toilet and possible floor/ceiling damage at a rental property, and my usual handyman was not available. The nice thing about these guys was that I was able to get a response right away and also a time estimate of when they could show up. Although I called them on a particularly busy day, they were still willing to come out and check the damage no matter how late it was and they kept me updated on the time because the previous jobs were taking longer than expected. I probably called about 4 other plumbers/handy-people to no avail or extremely delayed responses, so these guys were it. Talked to both Dan and Michael, and they were both extremely friendly and accommodating. Dan gave me an estimate of the damage, and also was very willing to work with our usual handyman in order to make the job cheaper. We called these guys because we had a water softener that was leaking. They came out, gave us an estimate of $600-$700. My husband wasn't comfortable with the price, seemed high. He was able to get them down to $500 but still wanted to get another estimate. He called out 2 other plumbers for an estimate. We received a quote for $150 and another for $125. All in all, we ended up paying $167.00 I feel that these people are not honest and like to charge higher if they think they can. I think it is very unfortunate. read more

I am beyond satisfied with my experience with Pros Plumbing & Rooter. To be honest, I was starting to wonder if I was ever going to get my problem fixed after I tried calling two other plumbers in the area that couldn't even diagnose the problem properly. I will admit, I was a bit skeptical about calling this company because of the mixed reviews, but I decided to just give them a try and i'm glad I did. My call was answered by Michael who was very friendly, and pleasant to talk to. He scheduled an appointment for me the next day and said the plumber coming out would be Kory. Kory showed up right on time and he was super friendly. I showed him the problem I was having and he immediately knew what was wrong! I was so surprised, because up to this point I had only heard run arounds, and never a sold answer. He even showed me pictures of recent jobs he has done that were smiler to this, and he showed me how he was able to preserve a lot of the area around it because it requires a bit of cutting into the wall. Kory didn't seemed fazed by this though. He reassured me that by the time he was done with the job that it would look better than what it did before. Edited as of 1/22/16: Despite the reply of the business owner and promise of refund of $65.00, as of today no refund has been received from Pro's Plumbing. I would caution all potential customers, buyer beware here. Another RED FLAG. I will compliment Pros Plumbing on their phone etiquette, they answer the phone and make appointments and follow up, so for that my kudos. Once they arrive is when the shenanigans begins. Within the past week I had a outdoor water pipe spring a leak coming from the main. It required a replacement as it was patched once earlier. The two plumbers measured and advised I needed 80 feet of copper pipe and a couple of elbows plus labor, estimated at 2-4 hours. The quote was $2,500.00 to do the job. I was taken aback by the quote and advised them that I would have to get another quote and then the price started to drop, first a couple hundred and then to $2,100.00 if I chose to have them do it right then. I was charged a $65.00 service fee for the visit but it was money well spent. I went online to Home Depot and looked up 1" copper pipe which is $12.97 per 10 feet, giving them the benefit of the doubt, I calculated 100 feet which would be 10 pieces or $ 130.00 more or less for all the pipe plus labor to install, which they estimated at 2-4 hours. How the quote arrived at $2,500.00 I have no idea, other than these folks are crooks. I asked them how much to repair and the plumber said $500-600.00 for a repair. That is when the conversation ended. I obtained a second quote from another local plumber the same day (Saturday) and doing the work that Pros quoted for $2500.00 plus fixing another problem for me on another pipe was $635.00 total. I would have been gouged $1,900.00 from an unethical plumber had I not said no and got another quote. I would recommend RUNNING away from these folks, don't walk and hold onto your wallets when running away. On Monday we had an emergency water heater leak that needed to be fixed by replacing the whole unit. Dan came out late at night and showed up after a long days work with a great smile on his face, even though he was there to only give an assessment. While he was checking out the leaky mess we ran by our idea of eventually switching over to a tankless water heater. He said hes installed several of them and has a crew of employees that he works with. The next day he came by with his electrician Rick to take a look and wanted to make sure our panel can handle the new appliance and make plans for wiring and access points, etc. (all throughout this time he never mentioned any $59 payment that another yelper said. I'm not sure what that's about) After talking it over we decided switching to tankless now was the best course of action considering the existing unit cannot be salvaged (and getting worse by the hour). We set up a work date of Friday and Rick started out the job early with the electrical portion of the job. Next came Dan and Mike and all three of them worked diligently through the day. They were all courteous, professional, easy to talk to. To make their job easier the night before my husband and I removed the old water heater and cleared out as much as we could to make access points for under the room. That was a good idea, it allowed the guys to just get on with the fun stuff and saved us a bit of money :o) Long story short (too late!): They did a great job from start to finish in just a few days time and we will definitely be working with them in the future. We have plans to slap in another bathroom and will be using their expertise in the next few years! read more

I called Pros Plumbing and scheduled an appointment to have a shower drain snaked. I waiting the four hour window they gave me and no one showed up nor did anyone call. I called them to check on what was going on and a guy told me he would check into it and "call me right back". NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I hired another company. What fast service! I called Pros Plumbing at about 8:15am this morning - they said they could be out around 11:30, but they were knocking on my door within the hour. They came in, assessed my issue with my clogged kitchen sink, suggested jetting the pipes to get a thorough cleaning and voila - my sink was unclogged in about 30 minutes. My wife and I came home today after she delivered our son yesterday. We have family staying with us and chose not to shower at the hospital this morning because we wanted to get home. Our water heater was done for, my frustration was through the roof. I called around to different plumbers, no one even answered their phone. I called Pros plumbing at 130, Dan was at my house by two - problem addressed, part found and Dan has gone out of his way now to make sure we have hot water by this evening. He could have hosed me when I said "let's just put in a new water heater," but he talked me out of it, called a couple distributors around the Bay Area and found the part. Beyond pleased! read more

If you need a great plumber, look no further. These guys are the best and they are wonderful to work with. Dan came to our house to assess some plumbing issues we had, made some suggestions and then told us to call us when we were ready to move forward. When we called him back he was so accommodating and friendly, coming out to our house the next day (which was a Saturday) and he managed to fix 3 separate issues we had with a shower, kitchen sink and our wet bar. With the wet bar, he fixed something that 3 other plumbers looked at and determined was not fixable without expensive new parts and fixtures. Dan doesn't know the meaning of "not fixable". I give Dan my highest recommendation and would not hesitate to refer him. If I have future plumbing issues, Dan will be my first and only phone call. read more

He was exactly on time and within 5 mins knew what the problem. He brought out his big machine in 15 mins he removed the blockage from the drain line. I was impressed and delighted with the service I received by Pros Plumbing! Cory came in and looked at my toilet which was leaking and told that it was a very easy fix. What a huge relief! Plus, he didn't try to charge me an exorbitant fee for walking in the door which has been my experience with two previous companies. I did, however, have another problem in the kitchen. The water in the garbage disposal sink was bubbling up in the adjoining sink! So Mike came in and quickly figured out the problem. He took care of it in a timely manner and advised me that it was not a good idea to put food in the disposal in the future. As a matter of fact, it was never a good idea to put food in a garbage disposal! Interesting! I had purchased the $100.00 deal for $50.00 so the final charge was very reasonable! After taking a day off work to be home for our scheduled appt between 10 and 12 nobody showed up. We called and got no answer and eventually someone answered the phone there at 2pm. I was put on hold for 5 minutes to find out where the technician was and was told that the previous job took longer than expected and put on hold for an additional 5 minutes to see if there was another technician available. I was then informed that they were too busy and nobody would be available to come out today. When I asked what their policy or lack there of was to notify people when they wouldn't make a schedule appointment time I was told that because they were so busy they didn't communicate. Having read several other reviews this seems like it is the standard way that they operate. Stay far way from this business unless you like wasting money and time with no results. read more

I came home to a leaking water heater inside my condominium. It was after normal business hours, so I knew it may be difficult to get a plumber out right away. Cheryl answered my call and was very helpful with my situation. She sent Kory to my house immediately. He was very professional, handed me his business card at the door, spoke with expert plumbing knowledge, and advised me on replacing my rusted out water heater. The price Kory quoted was higher than I anticipated, and he admitted the company is not the cheapest. He offered for me to seek a second quote from another company, but I decided to sign the contract and have Kory return first thing the next morning to replace my water heater. After Kory left, I remembered seeing a "20% off to online customers" banner at the top of the company's website. I called Cheryl to inquire about receiving the discount. I was so impressed by this company! Dan and Mike really know their stuff! We have several properties and have used different plumbers over the years, and no one has been as knowledgeable and given so much attention to the details as they do. We had a washer and dryer delivered, and when the guys got here they said installation wasn't included in the delivery fees. Wanted to schedule me for several weeks out. I called Pros and they were able to come out same day. And for half the fee that the other company wanted. We called them back when a pipe busted under the sink and the pipes and fixture had to be replaced. Again same day service and competitive pricing. Great service from the guys at Pros Plumbing and Rooter. We've had them out to our house twice now and I've been very impressed with their professionalism and friendliness. The first time they came out was to clean out a clogged sewer line. I was able to get an appointment quickly and once they arrived, they were able to resolve the issue very quickly. I can highly recommend the family based firm of Pros-Plumbing as they were very professional and efficient. Initial contact: When I called to discuss my non-standard sewerage system and the challenges that it presented ( 120'+ between the rodding point and the city sewer ) their receptionist/dispatcher knew exactly what I needed ( the ability to run one drum of cable then add a second drum ). They quoted me a price for the call out and said that they would discussed the actual costs once they had seen the system ( I though this was completely fair since who knows what is down there! ) so we scheduled an appointment for later that morning. The appointment: Dan and Mike turned up at the scheduled time, reviewed the sewer access and discussed every aspect of the costs ( including the charge for adding a second drum to the machine - which they had brought, always nice when folks turn up with ALL the equipment they needed! ). We agreed the price and they started work. The work: It was obvious that Dan and Mike knew what they were doing and set about the task with gusto, the first 100' of 15/16" cable and its cutter were down in no time at all and then came the task of swapping the drums. You HAVE to see it to understand why they charge extra for it, even though the professional quality machines make it "easy" the weights involved are not trivial, its seriously back breaking work. With the second drum attached it was back to business and 20' later they hit the roots blocking the sewer, through careful manipulation of the machine and some general grunt work pulling on the cable they had the blockage cleared and the drains flowing again ( what a wonderful sound it is to hear your drain clear! ). The clean up and painful part: Getting the second drum wound up and off was just as back breaking as putting it on but they had it all out and cleaned away in no time....and the painful bit..well it was not that painful, since they were so efficient the totally cost was VERY reasonable. Summary: Nice to find a professional business who can not only do what they say they can but can do it quickly and effectively. read more

I called around 1130am, we had a leak under the house. The receptionist said they will be there around 12pm-2pm. No one showed up until 320pm. Once explained the problem, the plumber stated it will be $350 just to go under the house, I asked why so expensive?, He stated it's Saturday. I left it alone, once he went underneath and came out, plumber stated it will be $1500 to fix 1ft of pipe and hang 10 feet of pipe with hangers. A total of $1850 that's out ragous. I told him to take his $350 and go. It seemed like he wanted to overbid on the price so he wouldn't want to do the work. I WILL ASK THIS BUSINESS TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME. This place is very unethical and I would stay far away from it! A couple weeks ago we contacted them to have our master toilet fixed. The technical was here for less than 10 minutes and charged us over $350, which included a $65 service fee. Outrageous for less than 10 minutes of work. I originally had a Yelp post and removed it when one of the owners reached out and said that we were accidently over-charged and were charged for the wrong service. He stated he would be reimbursing the extra fees and once we hung up, we had to constantly follow up. One excuse after the next and then he told my husband he was mailing cash - who mails cash these days? Needless to say we never got the money. How easy is to say it got lost in the mail! After reading the other reviews of people getting ripped off I was convinced I needed to post this again and will be reaching out to BBB as well. Stay away from this place. read more

Here is an update. Dan stopped by with the video he did of the sewer line entering our house. He told me if I didn't remove my review in one week, he would sue me. After watching it, I apologize for calling him a con artist. I am going to say he is inept. This is the same video I saw of the line going from the trap, in front, to the main in the road. It is not from the trap in to the house, which was where the root was. He said he would video it at the start, and said on 4 occasions he had the video. Apparently he never did. I won't deny the work might have needed to be done in the future, on the line to the street. But since the problem was the same after he furnished the work I was guaranteed would fix the problem, it wasn't the issue. The problem was in the house, and ended when the root was removed. If he ever finds the video for the inside, I hope he will not wait until 8:00 pm to drop it off. read more

Pros Plumbing & Rooter is one of the ethical and honest plumbing company I've ever worked with. I used to work in the multiple plumbing industries for last several years, so i know how much things cost and how technicians try to do unethical stuff in order to take money from the customer. Since i knew how these things, when the Pro Plumbing & Rooter technician showed up, I didn't mention anything about my background because I wanted to see if this technician would be unethical and immoral, just like any other major plumbing companies in Bay Area. I waited and spoke with him with very few words. First and foremost, he gave me the price where I've never seen before. I mean, he gave me really cheap price. Since i worked for major plumbing companies in bay area, i know how much plumbing companies charge for snaking main drain line from the main cleanout. He gave me an unbeatable price which, i can say my previous company wouldn't even give me this price. basically, Pros Plumbing & Rooter is approximately 25% cheaper than any other plumbing companies in Bay Area. so you will always get the best price. Second, He was pretty honest. Usually, when technician is assigned to the work place, they tend to up-sale due to the commission systems that plumbing companies has. He didn't even try to up sell anything to me, rather, try to teach me how to avoid plumbing problems. I was quite surprise how ethical and honest he was. Real talk, although i worked in plumbing industries in Bay Area for long time, I would recommend Pros Plumbing & Rooter over all of my previous plumbing companies. P.S. We had a shower control handle fail in the on position last night at midnight! We couldn't turn the shower off so we had to turn the water off for the whole house to turn the shower off. Not a good situation to be in. On Sunday morning my wife started looking online for a plumber. We have tried a few in Morgan Hill with mixed results and she found ProsPlumbing and made the call. They said Dan would be here at 3:30pm to check out the problem. He arrived at 3:15pm and within 10 minutes he had the shower water valve apart and was explaining to me the problem. He then told me step by step how to fix it and said he could do it and it would be about $400 (service call, Sunday overtime, labor, parts) or I could do it myself. He even said if I ran into problems I could call him and he would walk me through it. Well, there were a few small parts that had to be installed in the right order and orientation so I was a little apprehensive about trying my luck, but Dan seemed very honest and genuine about his offer. And heck, who wouldn't want to save $400. So I told him thanks and that I would try to do the repair myself. I couldn't believe he was so honest and gave me the step by step instructions on how to make the repair. Well, Home Depot had the right part, and it also had pretty good assembly instructions (just follow the dissemble procedure in reverse order). It worked and the shower is working great again. I want to thank ProsPlumbing for their honesty and for their promptness on helping us out with this emergency. We will definitely call them again when we need a plumber. They brought out more technicians in order to get the job done sooner which ended up costing me less. It was a win-win. Then the plumber decides to get into a yelling match after I try to calmly dispute the charges. Just read all through their reviews and realize that when they are not 5 stars, they are 1 star. Just an update to this review. So someone named Daniel contacted me to discuss the original review where the company ripped us off . I told Daniel my experience and why I left the review. I invited him to look at my other reviews to show I am not a serial negative reviewer like some people on here. He acted like he cares so I gave him my honest feedback and why I felt it was important to let others know when they were looking for a company to hire. He offered to refund me and apologized. Great I thought. This company realized their mistake and wanted to make it good. Well that was 3 months ago and counting. I have heard multiple excuses such as the check was sent to the wrong address...to all of a sudden he doesn't know if it was sent. Nothing but empty promises. I really have been patient...I really wanted to come back on here and tell everyone they cared to make it right. But this just shows me that they just don't care and don't value customers. I would be weary of the 5 star ratings on here. My whole experience with this company has been terrible. I mean why the hell contact me and lie about making things right. That's like a double whammy. First you rip me off and then you lie to me for over 3 months. Lol come on. You can't run a business like this and expect to survive. Update:. Don't buy the response the company made. There was nothing after hours about this job. Middle of the day. Another lie. Why in the world would he reply to this review three years later? Stay away from these shady characters. *STAY AWAY!! 0 Stars!! 1. deceitful 2. overpriced 3. will upsell you. This company will charge you a $59 fee just for evaluation. This fee is not waived once you agree on the job. Also will upsell you on a procedure you probably don't need. I called this company based on the good reviews. I was greeted by the dispatcher who turns out to be the owner/plumber's mother. I was told about the $59 eval fee. When the plumber arrived he immediately tells me I need to have the high pressure wash done. The job would cost $315. We agreed on the price and I told him i would cut a check for $315. Once the job was done he charges me $374!! For less than an hour's work. He would not waive the eval charge even though we agreed on $315. The workorder says he ran in to obstruction at 79 feet. Later on my landlord shows me the plumbing lines and after measurements saw that anything past 40 feet would have been at a wide diameter plumbing area where no obstruction that would make it past the gargbage disposal should have gotten stuck. 40 feet worth of piping should have been at least attempted with the lower cost snaking procedure. Hindsight is always 20/20, but a snaking procedure would have cost me $130 at Roto Rooters, instead i get duped for $374. read more
