Sigh where do I even begin... I was looking to get a performance upgrade out of a 2015 Infiniti Q50S AWD. Met up with Rob Fuller via appointment through email. He didn't bother to look at the car but seemed interested enough to give us an invoice. Purchased an Exhaust, Intakes, Sway Bars (Front + Rear). Waited for the whole process (3+ months and then some) just to find out toward the end of the process he changed a part within my invoice without ANY NOTIFICATION. I walked in on him without an appointment and he flat out yelled at me and my brother for being a customer in good faith just wanting to check up on the parts we ordered. Dropped off my R34 VSpec II to get some work done. The work itself was done on time although price was double what the market rate is to work on the car. Fast forward 2 weeks later and the engine blew. Apparently things were torqued correctly and left loose bolts while wrenching. Had a sudden loss in oil pressure on my way to So Cal and car started leaking oil. Had to get the car towed back to LA. Terrible experience for a shop that specializes in RB engines. Went in to get my 350z inspected after purchasing it. I was running late for my scheduled appointment but Rob was still kind enough to accommodate me and check out my car. He thoroughly inspected my car from bumper to bumper and pointed out all the issues, down to the smallest details. Gave me some consultation and advice about my options. He could have just taken my money and charged me for all the labor required on the car, but instead offered to help me find something that better suit my situation. His team attempted to fix the AC on my car but that didn't work out and he didn't charge me for the extra hour under the car. In April made an appointment over the phone they booked me two months prior to when they wanted to see me. Appointment was for a tune on my 370z. Drove two hours to just show up and Rob told me i had no existing appointment. Which made no sense , because he gave me a quote when i called to make the appointment on my tune and explained to me the process. Rob eventually took the keys to my car and told me he'd give me a call when it would be done. Left it parked outside the garage and went to go run errands, came back to check how the process was going and noticed my car was still parked in the same spot three hours later. he eventually took the car in for only Rob to call me twenty minutes later saying he couldn't tune my car , he said he was "scared to work on the car , it would take too much time". Month later took it to a different tuner , the guy tuned it in an hour with no issues. read more

Dropped my 2005 G35 off with Rob and the guys at Z Car Garage and was immediately blown away by the customer service. I felt so welcome and comfortable discussing my car with Rob and as a female bringing her car to a performance shop I'm always apprehensive, but not here! My car's engine was making a knocking sound and as we all know this can't be good news or cheap. Rob was super flexible with me being able to bring my car by multiple times and was very patient with all the questions I had. He kept me posted after every hour he spent working on my car to ensure he wasn't racking up a bill I wasn't comfortable with. Very professional and very considerate. After spending just about 2.5 hours on my car total, his team performed all the fluid flushes I needed, got my clutch pedal feeling worlds better, helped me gain more headroom (HUGE, because driving my car became less and less enjoyable when my head was legit smashed against the freaking roof of my car), and thoroughly explained to me why my engine was making such an expensive sounding sound. I also found the charges very reasonable and he was very transparent about how much my future services coming up would be. I honestly can't wait to bring my car back to get it feeling and performing better and better! First off I'd like to say that i waited two months for him to even just look at my car. We finally scheduling an appointment. Then after taking my car there after telling him what I would like to do to the car. We had a list of many things to go over. He said he give me an estimate after looking at what my car may needed done and email me a quote. I then proceeded to wait another two weeks without any response. So, I had to ask him if he had been done with his quote. He quoted me for some minor work as if he forgot entirely what I was bringing the car to him for was some major work including multiple leaks. I basically had the car sitting for three months from our scheduled appointment to the end of our meeting. I Was willing to dump a significant amount of money but he seemed more interested in doing small jobs it seems. He rushed our morning time as well when I was willing to leave the car there so he can give me a proper quote and start the multiple things I wanted done to the vehicle. HORRIBLE experience. Unprofessional attitude and Rob tried to take advantage of a woman except I did my research and got a 2nd and 3rd opinion which pissed him off royally. It took a MONTH and 4 HOURS billed labor to do a diagnostic. The work & bill to just get the car driven home was astronomically high. It didn't need most of what was on the list and we won't talk about the labor charges for some of the jobs.... If you are male and have deep pockets and loads of time to leave your car then yippy for you. Well . . . when you have nice vehicles, you want to keep them nice so I have tried to find the best people to work on my vehicles. A couple years back, I wanted to buy a 300zx (a high school dream). I found Rob on Yelp and contacted him because I wanted him to inspect the car before purchase. Rob took a look at the car, gave me his recommendations (which were spot on), and we agreed that he would service the car over its life. After I purchased the car, I enjoyed it for about 9 months. After owning the car for 9 months, I burned the clutch (all me). I had the car shipped to Rob, and we agreed to complete the 60K service and a few other upgrades. I went in for Round 2 a few months later to complete all the modifications. During this entire process, Rob took the time to answer my questions, respond to my concerns, and he did it all with an amazing attitude of gratitude. Rob is BY FAR the best car service person I have ever worked with. People will feed you BS to sell you parts and then they will blame you when things do not meet your expectations; NOT Rob. When I told Rob that the new transmission he installed was grinding in 5th gear (after putting about 500 miles on it), he said OK bring it in and I'll take a look at it. Guess what, he did take a look at it and he did for FREE. After looking at it, he saw the transmission had problems. What did he do? He replaced it with another BRAND NEW transmission for FREE (he didn't blame me, he was a true PROFESSIONAL). I have worked with other shops, and they always try to find an excuse to blame you for things they did wrong. Not Rob, he goes above and beyond to do right by his customers. I am thankful that I met Rob and the folks at Z Car Garage. I am also thankful that Rob is expanding his business so he can now service more than just Z cars. I was Super Nervous! I walked into the garage and i was really nervous after taking my car into a bunch of different places and getting really nasty results to my 350z. I took it to Rob and literally walked into the door on Wednesday and got everything from new plugs and adapters, and even gasket and valve covers with a complete diagnostic. Rob and his team tensioned my e-brake cable, and detailed, not cleaned, but detailed my car, replaced any missing bolts which are normally $4 a piece and replaced any missing fluids, differential, transmission, oil, you name it even my clutch and brakes were checked out and topped off if needed. Did i mention he did all of that for FREE. When i came to pick up my car they were so happy to see the difference in the performance of the car that they literally looked beaming with joy. Rob saw the difference in my face and called me over, to my surprise as they let me help them put away their custom GTR in the lot. I was recommended to this place by a friend, and now i will take my car to no one else. Please note i have seen all of the negative reviews and some people got a bad impression from Rob. Being one of the firsts to do anything always comes with its highs and lows. However, as much as i've been through, Rob and the guys at ZCG have always been super accomodating and have made the experience as pleasant as possible. Hands down the only place I will take my car. It's a no brainer. Think of it this way, if you have to have surgery, do you want to go to a general surgeon or to a specialist? I know what my answer is. I made the mistake of going to the dealer once, I assumed because they sold me the car they knew how to service it...wrong. The first time I called Rob he saved me $300. The second time I went to Rob, I told him I was 90% sure I had a bad alternator after talking to a guy at Autozone. Turns out it was just the battery. I could have easily been swindled into buying a new alternator and battery and not known the difference. Now that's integrity. I always do my homework and compare prices; I'm cheap as hell. So, I was surprised to find that just because it's a specialty shop doesn't mean I was overpaying. Prices are comparable to any credible auto shop and in most cases better than the dealership. Having had to pay thousands to get the car released from an unprofessional mechanic who misrepresented his capability and work, Rob stepped in and stepped up. Once the car was relocated to Rob's shop, a comprehensive plan was quickly drawn up and he delivered on everything. All this was managed with great communication (with me being remote) and when I arrived at the shop to drive the car, I took off and drive 450 miles in 2 days without a single issue. I cannot review them on their service, as they could not perform the installation I needed on my G35. I did not give them 5 stars because they claim on their site to be forced induction specialists and yet they would not install my Procharger system. The reason behind why they would not install it is a little unclear, guess they had installation issues - after the owner following up with me about my previous review, it seems they are uncomfortable with installing this system or don't recommend it. (Even though through my own research it seems Procharger has corrected previous bugs and it's only an issue for cars that have 400RWHP). I was disappointed to discover this, as they seem to otherwise be the best qualified shop for me to entrust my car to. Love Z Car Garage! Rob and his crew are the best with Nissan Z's. I've so far been to Rob twice and both times have been great experiences. I never feel like I'm overpaying or being conned into something....unlike the Nissan dealerships. With Z Car, there's always that genuine concern for the car and the owner. Anyway, the first time i brought my car in for the clutch and knowing full well I waited too long to get my clutch checked, I was in a panic to find someone to fix my clutch the next day. That's when my boyfriend suggested i find a Z specialist and that's when i found Rob. Not only was his quote lower then the rest of the places I called but he also fit me in the following day. He took the time to explain things to me and made a list of "to do" that i could fix on my own time. Awesome! This second time I brought the car in, I was kicking myself because the problem this time around was already suggested by Rob the first time. Oh well, better late then never. He gave me the quote as well as for some other work (bushings and belt) and it came out being lower then what I would've had to pay if i had gone to the dealership. Best part, everything was done in one day, once the parts came in. Now I have my fairlady back and I couldnt be happier! I wont ever trust anyone else with my car anymore.
