This review will definitely be short since I had work done here back in 2015, but I definitely remember the service I received and I'm still extremely pleased with the work that was done on my car! I reached out looking for a shop to install a universal muffler that I had purchased online. When I gave the shop a call, they told me to come in for a consultation to evaluate what type of work would need to be done for the installation. When I arrived, I was helped right away and I was shown what kind of work would need to be done in order to install the muffler, how much it would cost, and an estimate of how long it would take. I had seen a lot of great reviews on this shop, so I decided to go ahead and book the service! I believe the whole installation only took a couple of hours and when I came back to the shop to pick up my car I was extremely happy and excited about the service that was done! Right when they gave me the keys, they "said go ahead and give it a rev!" And I was in love with the new sound of my muffler! Unfortunately for my car, they had to remove the old muffler and cut off a piece of the tailpipe so that the new muffler would fit in. (It's not a bolt on) but I was so happy with the low, loud rumbling sound that my car makes now! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who's looking to have any muffler work done on their car! read more

+ Great quality and pride in their work + Friendly staff + Transparent Found these guys through a recommendation from another local muffler shop, who pointed me this way since they couldn't accommodate me for another 3 weeks. I'm glad they did! Swung by the shop, greeted by Mitch, and explained that I wanted some adjustments to my exhaust because the previous shop that installed it did a poor job. Luckily enough, he was able to get me on the rack just a few days later. Brought my car in and they had me in and out within a couple of hours. While the car was on the lift, Mitch brought me out to the car to explain what the problem was, and make sure I was ok with the adjustments and costs before performing work. While making the adjustments, he also discovered another issue with exhaust caused by the previous installer the he fixed as well. I'm pleased - no more tacky looking exhaust tips, and no annoying rattles! On another note, they also have a comfortable waiting lounge. All in all, highly recommend these folks, and will be back for more work. read more

I have took in my car here years ago before I sold it and recently I purchased a 1968 Buick Skylark convertible and unfortunately carburetor was messed up had a backfire and caught fire under the hood so I decided to call sound of speed let me tell you I didn't even have to take my car in I talked to John he told me to send him pictures and he gave me his input on what I need to do and for that my friend I want to thank you for being so cool and chill and patient not like any other shops that won't help unless you come in. Brought my 68 mustang Coupe in for some exhaust changes, I wanted to make a muffler/exhaust change to help quiet the car a tad. The team there were awesome providing me part numbers to order to save a few bucks on parts. Mitch did an awesome job even finding and fixing a couple exhaust leaks along with finding a replacing a missing header collector bolt, in addition to the muffler change. In the past when dealing with automotive shops I would have a few good experiences and soon after a decline in customer service or unreasonable price change. This kept me moving from shop to shop never really thinking I had a mechanic shop that would care about my vehicles or make recommendations in my best interest. They've done custom work on my motorcycles as well as my Corvettes. My most recent visit was adding larger tips on my Aftermarket Billy Boat Fusion exhaust. I have a custom rear diffuser and the Billy Boat tips looked too small inside it. Mitch is a magician when it comes to custom fab work, and even though the install appeared to be straight forward, it was quite involved. Fantastic shop that did some good work replacing my control arms. I'm a no BS guy when it comes to getting stuff taken care of on my car. I provide the parts and I like shops that do quality work and can finish with decent time. Sounds of Speed is added to my list of shops I'll go to when I need to get work done on my car. The price of labor is good and the customer service was good. I called ahead and got a quote on the cost of repair. I brought in my parts and got a good estimate on how long it would take for them to complete the work. They said it would take about 4ish hours to finish. I'm pretty skeptical on delivery times and I'm used to shops pushing back my repair for their priority customers but 4ish hours later my car was ready to go. The alignment was good and my car is riding pretty smooth. I got the vibe that this is a pretty honest shop and they won't BS you with unnecessary repairs. UPDATE 05/15/12: Got my starter changed by these guys and it was a non painful, reasonably charged, quick experience. Well, I was stuck as far as finding a great shop to get my radiator fixed. After going to other places, only to have it continuing to leak, I finally got tired of having to refill my truck with water and coolant just about every week. I was referred to Jon by my friend and co-worker. I called and left a message for Jon and he returned my call right away, great guy. Long story short I worked with both Jon and Mitch and they are just awesome guys. They did what they promised, had the truck ready to make sure I left in time to pick up my kids and the total price was reasonable. I did both the radiator and smog check. The smog was a bit over the price I usually pay but for me it was convenience and getting it done the same day. It's been about 3 weeks now and my truck has no radiator leaks!! I will DEFINITELY go back to them again for future work!! read more

Mitch is an outstanding welder and did a super job in replacing the worn out rear muffler on my 30 year old Alfa Romeo. Called and John picked up and I told him my problem. (Towed my car to kwikway Mufflers and they could not help because I did not have flanges) John said they could make it happen. They fabricate and true custom exhaust. Other places sell by saying they do custom exhaust but in reality they just weld. These guys Mitch and John will really take care of you and your car. Called in before going here, spoke to Jon who recognized me the minute I drove in. Mitch worked on my car, put the new exhaust in my Mustang within 30 mins, but he wasn't happy with the alignment of the two exhaust tips and asked me if he could fix em up and align em properly. All in all, they don't believe in mediocre work, only top notch work and they're both super friendly! I came here to get exhaust work on my Corvette based on a recommendation from a fellow enthusiast. My first impression upon pulling up: this has to be the CLEANEST shop I've ever seen. 1) Jon and Mitch are great - they're car people, so we all had a nice chat while the work was being done. 2) Price is fair - they quoted a good price and only charged the quoted amount, even when the work ended up taking more man-hours than expected. 3) They do quality work - made sure there were no leaks, everything was tight, and even gave the exhaust a quick polish before I left.
