This is a family owned place with the owners behind the counter and working in the kitchen, they appear to be husband and wife, and they couldn't be more friendly or kind. They were so very nice to us and answered all of our silly questions. The food here is magnificent! I had never had tabouli fries before, that was the first. My buddy said their fries were excellent and they are, they are double fried and very crunchy. That is my favorite kind of fry. Pillowy soft on the inside too. The beef-lamb shawarma was special. We got the one with the hot sauce and added more. We are both also chilli heads. I will absolutely be bringing my wife here when we return to the island in the fall. Yalla is 5 stars all the way. Lots of locals in and out while we dined. They know this place is special.

First, the couscous is not the usual couscous we've all had. This is Lebanese couscous, which is so different as to be unrecognizable as "couscous". It is so very good, I could have a whole meal of that and be happy. I generally prefer baked falafels, but this fried one was great; crispy on the outside, and soft and green on the inside. I've avoided dolma in the past, as I had it once years ago and it was terrible. But this dolma was good enough for me to stop avoiding it in the future. People were very nice, and it took less than 10 minutes for my order to be ready. It's a grocery store with a deep selection of many items, such as spices, pastas, canned fish, .... (see photos). I enjoyed this enough, I came back again about a week later for another Sampler Plate meal. My only slight peeves are, I wish there were a bit more to the salad (which isn't even listed as one of the sampler items, so a bit hard to complain!), and that the pita had some whole grains in it (I find white wheat boring).

The pita was the kind you can buy at the grocery store, would have been nicer if it was warmed up. The veggie deluxe plate was about $20 after tax, which is towards the upper end of prices for donair shops. This plate does contain more of a variety than the falafel plates at lots of shops though. The amount of food was enough that I felt full. I can't really say if it was worth it because I was so turned off by the greasy eggplant that I wasn't able to really enjoy it. To me the staff was neither friendly nor unfriendly. Anything with falafel takes a little longer because they fry them to order, so considering that, the wait time for my food was reasonable.

I would have liked more feta and olive in my salad, as a personal preference, and couldn't find any chicken in my "mixed shawarma", but nonetheless, I did enjoy it very much.
