The sauce, the cheese, the crust, and the generous toppings all come together in the best way :P And yes... always, always order the deep dish!! Still one of my favorite reliable spots, even while making healthier choices. Went to Zachary's with my daughter after an afternoon of shopping and decided to go with something a little lighter this time. I ordered the spring mix salad and added grilled chicken and bacon for some extra protein. I also added extra cranberries, which gave it the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The salad was fresh, flavorful, and honestly really satisfying. The Kid ordered a personal pizza with pepperoni, olives, pineapple, and bacon on Zachary's signature thin crispy crust, and it was delicious as always. One thing I can say about Zachary's is that the service is consistently exceptional. I honestly can't think of a bad experience I've had at any of their locations. It's funny seeing how much my eating habits have changed lately. I'm still a foodie and still love good food, but this fitness journey has definitely shifted me toward making better choices while still enjoying the things I love. One of the best pizza in my opinion and if your craving pizza after the movies (right across the street from the Cinemark theatre in Pleasant Hill). The service is great, very friendly and helpful if you never been to Zachary's before. They do have a good size area to dine in, I like doing takeout and enjoy my pizza at home, you can get your pizza half or full baked. They have regular crust, but the way to go is stuffed crust. Pizza places are getting expensive and others that try to give you deals lack quality. For pizza that you get what you pay for than Zachary's fit the bill. read more

Then I ask for another dressing, I got a oh you get 2 free then for 3 it's 1.66!! I said forget it, because I'll just make this work, possibly choke from dry lettuce but hey who's complaining?!?! As if we don't already pay enough for food, we get charged extra for basic necessities. Plus an entrée Ceasars salad all to share for two. We have ordered this same pie on other occasions. Love it. Our waitress (long-blond hair, long time owner\employee, good right arm for cranking pepper, laughs at Dad jokes) who took our order, served our salad, and went on a topping hunt with us through our pizza was fantastic. The salad- plenty of fresh parm, lightly spiced croutons, cold and cruncy leaves dressed and peppered lovingly is the Star of the meal. We asked for the pizza to be served piping hot as on a previous visit last year we hit a one day almost cool spell. "Tell the cook please, that I want blistered skin hanging off the roof of my mouth from this pizza." Pizza shows up hot enough. Cheese is melted. Tomato topping sauce is hot enough. There is some visible steam for a minute. I was hoping to need to wait a few moments to let it cool off. It wasn't that. We are eating along. La la la la. Very refreshing tomato covering, the cheese is stringy the way I like it, I tell my wife I like the almost cornbready flaky crust. La la la la we are stuffing our pie holes and... Hard Stop! Me to wife- "Didn't we ask for mushrooms and sausage with the (easily visible and tasty) artichoke?" Wife "I think so." We start tearing through the tomato sauce and cheese. There we found some knife-blade thin slices of mushroom and what might be some crumbled sausage. We settle on the idea that we cant see or taste the mushrooms and sausage as they are served in tiny pieces. Maybe their flavors are being overwhelmed by the delicious tomato sauce. We decided to leave it at that. By chance our great server walks by. I ask her about the sausage. She digs through one and a half untouched slices and finds a piece of meat. She explains that the sausage needs more time to cook so it is cooked- buried under the cheese. I have worked in a deep dish pizza place and I'll give you two to one odds. The sausage is fully cooked before it gets near the pizza-but I'm not going give her a hard time. Pizza was still delicious. I always appreciate how I feel like I ate a healthful meal here. I was in the area for an event and needed a bite, so I decided to check out Zachary's Pizza after seeing the great reviews. I mean... pizza is always a safe bet, right? Good amount of seating, the artwork was very cute, lots of drawings. Im sure there is a fun little story behind each of them, but I honestly didn't pay too much attention, I was too distracted by the food! Food: 9/10 We ordered the Chicken Special and added artichokes to it and get this they have a stuffed option! So of course we had to try it! So glad we did. Pizza was thiiiick and delicious. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE ZACHARY'S! We were driving nearby so we HAD TO stop in for dinner! As always, it is well worth the wait! We lucked out and got a table in a relatively short time since we were there just before the Friday night dinner crowd really started pouring in. I am a big fan of Zachary's, including all of their locations. The deep dish pizzas are their thing, and if you haven't been there you should know that they take a while to bake, up to 30 minutes. It is worth the wait. My favorites are the Mediterranean and the Zachary Favorite. I also love the Zachary's Special. I will say that the last few times I've been here (the Pleasant Hill location), while the pizzas are still totally awesome, I could swear that something has changed. Possibly they changed the amount of sauce, or something. I can't put my finger on it, but the food is ever-so-slightly less amazing to me. The Ceasar salad was a delightful surprise when I finally tried it on a recent visit. It's one of my favorite Ceasar salads anywhere, period. Simple but tasty. Their ice tea is fresh brewed and very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is casual and enjoyable. Came in with the family today after a great movie at theatre next door. The customer service at this place was absolutely terrible. At 7:25PM on 12/1/24 we were not greeted when we walked in. Rather stare at us like we were out of place. While we waited to get seated the lady at the black post at this time was extremely rude. My father is disabled and was sitting in a chair in the front and we were met with these exact words, "this is not a walkway and we need this chair" the host then brought the chair to her to sit down while on shift. I'm not sure about you, but a business that treats someone of age that has a leg disability this kind of service is pretty disgusting. I do not recommend this establishment as it seems like their staff does not respect the elderly. For the food. We had a garden salad that we shared as a family. I have never had an authentic Chicago-style pizza before, but based on trying this place I am definitely going to hold off on trying any other Chico-style pizza until visiting Chicago. This place could be a 1 for 1 match and be exactly like Chicago-style, and if it is, I guess I do not like this style of pizza. I'm not from the area, just here for a visit but this place left such a strong impression that I'm already planning to come back next time I'm in town. The Chicago style pizza was phenomenal perfect crust, loaded with gooey cheese and a flavorful, rich tomato sauce. One of the standout pies was the roasted garlic pizza, which had feta cheese in it a surprising twist that was incredibly delicious. We also ordered the Caesar salad and wow... it was dressed perfectly and came with generous, high-quality strips of Parmesan. Easily one of the best Caesars I've ever had. We came here on a Saturday night at about 6pm. They were very busy, but we got lucky and we're seated within the first 10 minutes. They have a really well oiled plan for getting guests to pre-order their pizzas while waiting to be seated, especially because deep dish pizzas can take up to 45 minutes to bake. Servers were attentive to not only our table, but everyone around us and the pizza was fantastic! We also shared a spinach salad and for two people the share bowl was massive. Last time we came here was during the Covid pandemic and we had to eat in our car. It was nice to come inside for a change. We were greeted warmly by a nice lady at the counter who told us to pick a table and she will be with us shortly. We found a table in front by the window. The lady came up to bring our menus and take our drink orders so we could figure out what to get. When she came back with our drinks, we ordered a thin small Carne and arugula salad to share as entree. The thin pizza takes about 20-30 mins which was perfect timing for us as we had a movie date across the street afterwards. Our food came out all together and in good timing. They offered to serve our pizza but we declined so we could take our pictures for the review LOL. Once we dug it in, it got pretty quiet. We both enjoyed our food and the small comes with six slices which was perfect for us as we ate most of the salad and had two slices left. We were able to get those slices wrapped up to go and enjoyed them while watching our movie. We want to come back again and try the famous deep dish pizza which takes a little longer to make but we heard it's good and want to try for ourselves. How does a restaurant run out of forks?Yes folks! People were literally eating salad with their fingers tonight! When I went up to the server counter to ask for forks for our table and the table next to us, I was completely ignored. Literally two servers walked by, looked at me and ignored me. People were finally eating pizza with plastic forks! We come here quite often and never have had service issues. This was a first. First off it took 15 minutes to even have contact with anyone at the table. Then I ordered a beer that never showed up until I asked about it.. too late.
