One of the best pizza in my opinion and if your craving pizza after the movies (right across the street from the Cinemark theatre in Pleasant Hill). The service is great, very friendly and helpful if you never been to Zachary's before. They do have a good size area to dine in, I like doing takeout and enjoy my pizza at home, you can get your pizza half or full baked. They have regular crust, but the way to go is stuffed crust. Pizza places are getting expensive and others that try to give you deals lack quality. For pizza that you get what you pay for than Zachary's fit the bill.

    Cesar salad

I went into Zachary's just to grab a large Cesar salad. Why would they only give 2 small dressings with all this lettuce! Then I ask for another dressing, I got a oh you get 2 free then for 3 it's 1.66!! I said forget it, because I'll just make this work, possibly choke from dry lettuce but hey who's complaining?!?! As if we don't already pay enough for food, we get charged extra for basic necessities. This may just be my last try coming for the salad here because I usually purchase the small salad and receive 2 dressings and that's more than enough.

Feb 23, 2026 3.7 stars. Manager and owners, pass on my Congrats on your Oakland cousin's store Dave Portnoy review. Stopped in for a small sized mushroom, sausage and artichoke heart deep dish. Plus an entrée Ceasars salad all to share for two. We have ordered this same pie on other occasions. Love it. Our waitress (long-blond hair, long time owner\employee, good right arm for cranking pepper, laughs at Dad jokes) who took our order, served our salad, and went on a topping hunt with us through our pizza was fantastic. The salad- plenty of fresh parm, lightly spiced croutons, cold and cruncy leaves dressed and peppered lovingly is the Star of the meal. We asked for the pizza to be served piping hot as on a previous visit last year we hit a one day almost cool spell. "Tell the cook please, that I want blistered skin hanging off the roof of my mouth from this pizza." Pizza shows up hot enough. Cheese is melted. Tomato topping sauce is hot enough. There is some visible steam for a minute. I was hoping to need to wait a few moments to let it cool off. It wasn't that. We are eating along. La la la la. Very refreshing tomato covering, the cheese is stringy the way I like it, I tell my wife I like the almost cornbready flaky crust. La la la la we are stuffing our pie holes and... Hard Stop! Me to wife- "Didn't we ask for mushrooms and sausage with the (easily visible and tasty) artichoke?" Wife "I think so." We start tearing through the tomato sauce and cheese. There we found some knife-blade thin slices of mushroom and what might be some crumbled sausage. We settle on the idea that we cant see or taste the mushrooms and sausage as they are served in tiny pieces. Maybe their flavors are being overwhelmed by the delicious tomato sauce. We decided to leave it at that. By chance our great server walks by. I ask her about the sausage. She digs through one and a half untouched slices and finds a piece of meat. She explains that the sausage needs more time to cook so it is cooked- buried under the cheese. I have worked in a deep dish pizza place and I'll give you two to one odds. The sausage is fully cooked before it gets near the pizza-but I'm not going give her a hard time. Pizza was still delicious. I always appreciate how I feel like I ate a healthful meal here. Probably be back in a year.

I was in the area for an event and needed a bite, so I decided to check out Zachary's Pizza after seeing the great reviews. I mean... pizza is always a safe bet, right? I didn't know exactly what to expect, but honestly? I was impressed across the board. The plaza it's in is really nice, and there's even a parking garage nearby and get this... it's free! That's a rare win right there. When we walked in, it was open seating, so we grabbed a table near the kitchen since it was already getting pretty full. Super thankful we got there when we did because not long after, the place filled up fast, and they started a waitlist. Ambiance: 9/10 It gave pizza parlor, and I was for it! Good amount of seating, the artwork was very cute, lots of drawings. Im sure there is a fun little story behind each of them, but I honestly didn't pay too much attention, I was too distracted by the food! Food: 9/10 We ordered the Chicken Special and added artichokes to it and get this they have a stuffed option! So of course we had to try it! So glad we did. Pizza was thiiiick and delicious. Not your standard flat pizza. Very filling and packed full of flavor. Would I always get the stuffed pizza, no. But was it worth trying? Absolutely YES. Service: 9/10 Service was great! Our server was attentive, but not overbearing (if you read my reviews, you know this is always much appreciated). He was always there to refill our drinks, sometimes before I even realized we were almost out. One thing that was greatly appreciated, when we ordered our stuffed pizza he let us know it would be 30 minutes before it was done. Makes sense a pizza that thick needed a little extra time in the oven.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE ZACHARY'S! We were driving nearby so we HAD TO stop in for dinner! As always, it is well worth the wait! We lucked out and got a table in a relatively short time since we were there just before the Friday night dinner crowd really started pouring in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can feel the energy buzzing around you here which is just addicting to be around![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's pretty amazing how they manage the crowds and service plus delicious food so well! They're like a well oiled machine that pumps out delicious pizza to the thankful and happy masses that come back for more more more each and every time! We especially love that they are employee owned which makes you appreciate all the effort they pour into everything they do! We went with our usual go to favorite (pepperoni, mushroom and olive medium stuffed crust) plus a caesar salad to tide us over until our pre-ordered pizza was ready for us. The timing of our pizza was as perfect as our delicious pizza and salad! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite the dining room being pretty packed with a line of people still waiting for a table, we enjoyed every last bite while there AND our leftover slices a few days later.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If only we had more time and space on this trip to be able to bring some half baked pies home with us! We'll be back and will continue to share our Zachary's Pizza love with others to keep them going and growing! Don't hesitate and overthink it and JUST DO IT! You'll be so happy you did!

Great vegan option for pizza! The cheese was wonderful not weird like some vegan cheeses and the toppings all tasted fresh. 10/10!

Always a great time a Zachary's. We started with the spring salad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The a deep dish mushroom and spinach takes 30+ minutes but that's normal ops and we love the soft music and relaxing environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff is always friendly. Love their stuffed and thin pizzas.

Placed an order online and went to pick it up. It was perfect timing because they were boxing it up as I arrived. The line moved nicely and the person at the register was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean and the vibe was chill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Love me some Zach's!!

Half Large Thin Mediterranean, Half Zachary's Favorite
    Rob D.

I am a big fan of Zachary's, including all of their locations. The deep dish pizzas are their thing, and if you haven't been there you should know that they take a while to bake, up to 30 minutes. It is worth the wait. My favorites are the Mediterranean and the Zachary Favorite. I also love the Zachary's Special. I will say that the last few times I've been here (the Pleasant Hill location), while the pizzas are still totally awesome, I could swear that something has changed. Possibly they changed the amount of sauce, or something. I can't put my finger on it, but the food is ever-so-slightly less amazing to me. The Ceasar salad was a delightful surprise when I finally tried it on a recent visit. It's one of my favorite Ceasar salads anywhere, period. Simple but tasty. Their ice tea is fresh brewed and very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is casual and enjoyable. There is customer-made Zachary's Pizza themed artwork on the walls, which is fun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service here is solid; fairly friendly and consistent.

    Arugula Salad
    Matt M.

We ordered a small Thin crust Carne and Arugula salad for lunch and it was good to go. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was great, the place has plenty of seats to dine in and we didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When we took the first bitte my wife looked at me and I already knew it was good. The crust had a crispy crust but still soft in the middle and the ratio of toppings and cheese was just right. Next on the list we'll try the deep dish pizza.

    Caesar Salad
    Kim S.

Love their deep dish pizzas. We had a large special. They do take 30 minutes and the staff lets you know that up front. We also had a Caesar Salad to enjoy while we waited. Loved the croutons There were three of us and we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day.

Oooey-goooey cheesy yumminess! This is the place to get great pizza. The stuffed spinach & mushroom is a must have for us. "It's not too heavy, flavorful, still makes me feel like I'm having my vegetables," says my lady! I love the thin bbq chicken pizza which has large slices of chicken, the perfect portion of sauce and cheese in every bite. The arugula apple salad is a great starter and if you're able to get Sarah, with an H as your server, you'll be set. She was friendly, fun, and spunky! She also provided great customer service, helped us decide between a couple options, and plated our pizzas. Superior customer service, thank you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of parking in the lot next door, inside and outside seating, and it can get loud if it's packed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Give it a try if you're in the area.

    Dressing
    Nicholas B.

Came in with the family today after a great movie at theatre next door. The customer service at this place was absolutely terrible. At 7:25PM on 12/1/24 we were not greeted when we walked in. Rather stare at us like we were out of place. While we waited to get seated the lady at the black post at this time was extremely rude. My father is disabled and was sitting in a chair in the front and we were met with these exact words, "this is not a walkway and we need this chair" the host then brought the chair to her to sit down while on shift. I'm not sure about you, but a business that treats someone of age that has a leg disability this kind of service is pretty disgusting. I do not recommend this establishment as it seems like their staff does not respect the elderly. For the food. We had a garden salad that we shared as a family. Blue cheese dressing was very very watery. Please see photo attached. Pizza was okay. Luke warm. Our direct server who was a young man did a good job.

I ordered the fried spaghetti as an appetizer, a chicken Caesar salad, the Chicken Marsala for my entrée, and an espresso martini. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our server, Brittany, was friendly, personable, and took responsibility when there was a delay in service. I asked for a bowl of water for my dog as soon as we were seated, but it took about 20 minutes before it was brought to the table and our order was taken. She sincerely apologized, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I've experienced similar delays with other servers during previous visits. I also noticed the bartender place coffee beans into an espresso martini using her bare hands. Although I didn't say anything at the time, it made me uncomfortable from a hygiene standpoint. When I ordered another drink, Brittany used a utensil to place the coffee beans into the drink, which I felt was much more appropriate. Overall, the food was outstanding, as always, and that's what keeps me coming back. I hope the restaurant improves its service times and reinforces proper food handling practices so every guest can enjoy the same great dining experience.
