I've been wanting to try Pinky's for a bit as they have something slightly larger than the personal pan pizza we all had as kids, which they call the mini. I ordered their mini pizza with chicken, spinach and green onion and while being slightly heavy on the tomato sauce for my taste (there's no way to list 'light sauce' in the DoorDash app) the fact it wasn't heavy and had nice light flavor worked well for me. My mini was not quite thin crust, but was flaky and had a nice crunch to it so I'll definitely be ordering again! The people were friendly, and the atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, the pizza was nothing to write home about. The edges were burnt black, and the crust was so hard and crispy it was like a hockey puck. For a $41 pizza, it was especially disappointing. We left half of it on the table because it simply wasn't good and wasn't something we'd ever crave again. When our server asked if we'd like a box for the leftovers, we politely declined and told her we wouldn't be taking it home because we just didn't enjoy it. She smiled and walked away. I really wanted to like this place because of its legendary reputation, but sadly, it didn't live up to the hype for me, and I probably won't return. You walk in and order the food up front with cashiers and staff working the front who are under 21 so they can't answer any questions about the drinks, but they are knowledgeable when it comes to the food. Staff was very friendly, CJ was very attentive and I took his recommendation on the Pastrami sandwich on Sourdough with all the fixings, it was delicious. Paired it with a rootbeer over crushed ice, THE BEST! The sandwich was huge, so I took the second half home. Although the menu states you get either a bag of chips or potato salad with it, I did not receive either. So be sure you ask for your side if you'd like it. Even with the missing item I'm still rating it as a 5-star based on the excellent customer service and friendly conversation with CJ, the yummy sandwich, and the crushed ice. I was highly disappointed as the pizza arrived cold, and there was barely any cheese on it, and I mean I was having to look for any morsels of cheese. The delightful waitress dropped off a burnt pastrami sandwich and told me if it was too burnt they would remake it. Really shocked management would let that out the kitchen.
