Just wanted a bite to eat, stumbled upon this place on a Yelp search for Italian. This is not an Italian restaurant , It's fine though. The space was quite huge, very rustic feel. No parking so you have to park on the street. Anyways, my food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I got the chicken and French toast and my friend got the tri tip salad. Unfortunately the French toast was overcooked and raw. The outside was quite dark ( burnt) and the inside was a pudding like texture after one bite. It didn't taste bad though but I wouldn't order it again. The chicken wasn't dry but it wasn't juicy. A little hard to cut through. My friend enjoyed her tri tip salad. Friendly staff. The name is somewhat misleading. I was expecting a more casual, diner like atmosphere. It definitely wasn't. They have happy hour which was great. We had the beef braised pie, the chicken wings, Brussels sprouts and the hibiscus margarita. Their pies are okay. Definitely, not the traditional pot pie I was expecting. Tje Brussels sprouts were good, but the serving was too small. The wings were wings. Nothing special. The hibiscus margarita? Meh. I won't order it again The service was fast, but I expected it to be. It was a Thurs night, and the place was practically empty. I found this place when I was looking for somewhere to eat before heading home. It's not in a busy plaza, and I doubt I would have found it even if I hadn't searched. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and told we could sit wherever we liked. There were a variety of options: bar seating, more traditional seating, and an open area that looked like it was for performances, with high tables and chairs. We chose the traditional area and decided to check out the menu. The waitress brought us cucumber-lemon water, which my husband loves. We decided we wanted to start with the chicken potstickers for an appetizer. For dinner, my husband chose the Guinness meat pie, and I chose the meat-lover's flatbread pizza. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed the decor and lively atmosphere. The waitress checked on us and refilled our drinks, which we appreciated. The restaurant was clean and uncluttered. It had a rustic vibe, which we enjoyed. The bathroom was nicely decorated and clean. The chicken potstickers were very good, and we would definitely recommend them. They are crispy, so if you prefer a more traditional style, you may not like them. Once our dinners came we were excited to dig in. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his dinner and decided to also order some truffle fries to dip in the generous gravy. My flatbread was very good; the only issue was that the waitress took a while to bring my requested ranch. It also took multiple requests before we received napkins. We decided to share the apple tartlet before heading home. I am so glad we ordered it. The dessert was delicious and made me long for Autumn. They have the best happy hour options. We went on a Friday (HH from 3-6pm Tuesday-Fri, M 2-6pm) and ordered plenty of food all off the HH menu. We had the chicken pot pie that came with fries, the BBQ pork sliders that also came with fries, and the truffle fries. We had ALOT of fries. It was all yummy. We also got the croquettes which were just ok. I had the CPS margarita which was very yummy. The service was a bit slow, especially for how not very busy they were, but I think maybe they do a lot of takeout orders (?). Anyway great place for HH!! First time ordering from here and they did not disappoint. I ordered the All meat chicken pie, beef short rib pie, and the Guinness beef pie. All three are really good, but the Beef short rib pie was my favorite. Simple, straight forward flavors. The beef was really tender and the crust was crisp and flaky. Did not seem "oily" at all. Great new (to me) find! I've heard about this place but hadn't taken the time to visit until this week and I'm so glad I did! It's in a very unassuming area and is surprisingly large and cute inside! We loved the atmosphere, it was quiet on a weeknight. Our server was very friendly and attentive and helped us with recommendations. We had the chicken and veggie pot pie because of course you have to get a pot pie while you're here and it was delicious! They had so many other options that surprised us. This is truly a local owned restaurant and car. Although famous for their meat pies, their hamburgers are my fav. Their mixed drinks are works of art. The staff are incredibly awesome. They always accommodate me and my three friends in wheelchairs. We like to sit in the back near the bar. They always have our table set up. We are not left moving chairs around to accommodate three wheelchairs. They always make us feel welcome. The space and the lighting looks like a wedding venue! Easy street parking. I really wanted to like this place. The space is big, the decor has personality, and the cocktail/mocktail menu looked promising (I don't drink, but I love a good mocktail). I tried the hibiscus martini, which was okay--but the experience overall left me pretty disappointed. When I sat down, I was told they weren't accepting food orders for the first 15 minutes due to two large parties they were serving. Honestly, if they couldn't handle other guests, they probably should've just closed to walk-ins. The service stayed slow throughout the night, and the server who started with me never returned--someone else took over without a word. I ordered the chicken pot pie with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. The sides were decent--the charred zucchini/squash mix was fine, and the potatoes and gravy were just okay. The pie, though... oof. The texture was off (someone else here described it as reminiscent of dog food, and I couldn't unsee it). It came out scorching hot, so I couldn't taste much at first, and when it finally cooled, it just lacked flavor. I was hoping to salvage the night with dessert, but one of the staff (not my server) let me know it would take too long because of the large parties. I appreciated the honesty, but again--it left me wondering why they were open to the public if they couldn't accommodate. The vibe didn't quite hit for me either--sports on TVs near the bar, a bathroom with quirky decor that didn't match the rest of the place, and not much warmth or coziness overall. That said, I did have a sweet interaction with one of the hosts up front, and a few staff members were genuinely kind. Unfortunately, I won't be back. Jesus. Worst service in conta costa county. Checking in for a reservation and being told "ya. That's your table over there" with the staff pointing. I've been here for 90 minutes and no sign of food. I think the wait staff must have all been taken in an ICE raid they are so hard to find and doing everything possible to avoid eye contact. You'll have to rummage around the host stand yourself to scrounge up a kids menu because they won't offer one. The co2 doesn't work so limited to bottled beer. And those take 20 minutes. The power went off for 5 minutes. But we'll all pretending that didn't happen. The food might be great. But at this rate I'll probably never know. I had such high hopes for this place. My husband, our child, and I decided to try this place one weekend morning. Our kiddo had some Mac & Cheese, I had an omelet with toast, and my husband had a Guiness pot pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. Our daughter raved about her food and I loved mine. Finally, an omelet with enough cheese!! My husband really enjoyed his too, and is willing to go back again. I love the lighting. It was so different and interesting. They also have a bar area and plenty of TV's to watch sports on, which I was thrilled about because I enjoy watching NFL games myself. The staff was great. They're very kind and weren't bothersome, nor did we feel neglected or ignored. Even the lovely proprietor checked on us a couple of times. One small thing, they serve cucumber water so if you don't like cucumber or are allergic to it like I am, just feel free to ask for regular ice water. The place looks small from the outside, but once you are in-it is actually quite a large place. My husband and I ordered some small bites. I ordered the mixed green salad. He ordered the curry chicken lentil pot pie. My salad was just what my tummy needed. Good portion and it was delicious. I took a bite of my Hubby's pot pie and that was delicious. Lots of flavor. When we were there it was just us. The place is a great place for a venue. We spoke to the owner to get info on the space to consider for possible upcoming events. I'd say it's under rated and off the beaten path in weird industrial/residential location. Apparently they've been in business for 8 years, and I only just learned about it from social media. Otherwise I guess - if you know, you know! I learned most of their business comes from events they host on site, otherwise the restaurant is pretty, relaxing and uncrowded. This is truly a hidden gem. The food was delicious, and had a great ambience. The venue is a lot bigger than what you would expect. Beyond the bar and beyond the main dining area is a open mic stage with more seating. State of the yard sound system piped in all around the entire restaurant. Hospitality was awesome. Tried the Veggie chicken pot pie and the Apple Tartlet. The pot pie was definitely not traditional, the traditional pie crust on top is my favorite. This one was missing that famous delicious crust. I really didn't care for the way it was made, looked more like a really thick crunch wrap rather than a proper pot pie. However, the Apple Tartlet is divine! So delicious and satisfying. The crust works in the case of this dessert, and actually enhanced the delicious apple flavors of the filling. This is a great example of how a different take on a traditional dish can be successful. I will definitely come back just to try this yummy dessert. read more

The decor inside is very creative and everything appears to look clean. For the most part, the staff was nice, but you could tell who the owner was as he was overseeing everyone's move. The owner carried a dictator vibe and it was obvious. The food and fees are what get a one-star. Let me explain... I ordered two chicken and vegetable pot pies, one Guinness beef pot pie, a poutine, and a Caesar salad. Both the chicken and the Guinness pot pie had so much cornstarch mixed in with the meat to add substance that it felt like I was eating dog food. The crust was dry and I couldn't see or taste the vegetables that were supposed to be mixed in. It didn't taste good and they don't look like pot pies. The Caesar salad looks and tastes like it came out of a bag, and not freshly cut. To make matters worse, I was charged a "non-cash adjustment fee" for paying with my card. Why am I paying an additional fee to use my card which I'm sure was probably already covered in the charges of the food?! I was never informed that I would have to pay a non-cash adjustment fee to avoid this. $14 for a poorly adapted pot pie with meat that tastes like dog food on top of paying a fee to use my credit card is ridiculous. The spicy chicken pot pie was very small and had a hard crust instead of a flaky one. The pizza bread was very undercooked. We had to toast it at home. The fries were great but the hamburger was overpriced at $18. The pasta was ok. Servers were very polite but food was slow to come out. They snuck a nearly $3 fee onto the bill in case you decide to pay with a card. If paying with cash you would have to subtract that out, but i bet a lot of people don't.
