Good pies. I've been a to Christmas fair that sold meat pies for $14. This place sells for $15 and quality is way better. Loved the spicy chicken pie and the carbonara. Solid items to order if it's your first time here.

I've been meaning to visit Chicken Pie Shop for a while! Finally found time to visit with a friend during weekday lunch. Rustic chic, spacious interior. Staff are lovely, so warm and attentive. Metered parking available out front and in adjacent streets. CHICKEN AND VEGETABLES PIE: Wowowo small but hearty. And the presentation, so cute... Nice & flaky crust with plenty of filling. A bit saltier than my liking but I'm new to the whole meat pie thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ BANANA CREAM PIE: So good! I recommend sharing, this is a lot of dessert. Soft, chewy crust with lightly sweetened, creamy filling (not too sweet!), topped with homemade whip~~~ Definitely landed in my Favorites bookmarks for sure ^_^

I found this place when I was looking for somewhere to eat before heading home. It's not in a busy plaza, and I doubt I would have found it even if I hadn't searched. When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and told we could sit wherever we liked. There were a variety of options: bar seating, more traditional seating, and an open area that looked like it was for performances, with high tables and chairs. We chose the traditional area and decided to check out the menu. The waitress brought us cucumber-lemon water, which my husband loves. We decided we wanted to start with the chicken potstickers for an appetizer. For dinner, my husband chose the Guinness meat pie, and I chose the meat-lover's flatbread pizza. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed the decor and lively atmosphere. The waitress checked on us and refilled our drinks, which we appreciated. The restaurant was clean and uncluttered. It had a rustic vibe, which we enjoyed. The bathroom was nicely decorated and clean. The chicken potstickers were very good, and we would definitely recommend them. They are crispy, so if you prefer a more traditional style, you may not like them. Once our dinners came we were excited to dig in. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his dinner and decided to also order some truffle fries to dip in the generous gravy. My flatbread was very good; the only issue was that the waitress took a while to bring my requested ranch. It also took multiple requests before we received napkins. We decided to share the apple tartlet before heading home. I am so glad we ordered it. The dessert was delicious and made me long for Autumn. Other than the few issues we encountered, we definitely want to come back and try more options from their menu. Maybe we'll come during one of the performances they have here.

They have the best happy hour options. We went on a Friday (HH from 3-6pm Tuesday-Fri, M 2-6pm) and ordered plenty of food all off the HH menu. We had the chicken pot pie that came with fries, the BBQ pork sliders that also came with fries, and the truffle fries. We had ALOT of fries. It was all yummy. We also got the croquettes which were just ok. I had the CPS margarita which was very yummy. The service was a bit slow, especially for how not very busy they were, but I think maybe they do a lot of takeout orders (?). Anyway great place for HH!! It's very close to Retro Junkie, which is where my friend was going afterward.

First time ordering from here and they did not disappoint. I ordered the All meat chicken pie, beef short rib pie, and the Guinness beef pie. All three are really good, but the Beef short rib pie was my favorite. Simple, straight forward flavors. The beef was really tender and the crust was crisp and flaky. Did not seem "oily" at all. You definitely get what you pay for even though some might think it's pricy. Thanks for a great PI day 3.14

View of bar area with tvs and ambiance from my table. Yummy mocktail.

I really wanted to like this place. The space is big, the decor has personality, and the cocktail/mocktail menu looked promising (I don't drink, but I love a good mocktail). I tried the hibiscus martini, which was okay--but the experience overall left me pretty disappointed. When I sat down, I was told they weren't accepting food orders for the first 15 minutes due to two large parties they were serving. Honestly, if they couldn't handle other guests, they probably should've just closed to walk-ins. The service stayed slow throughout the night, and the server who started with me never returned--someone else took over without a word. I ordered the chicken pot pie with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. The sides were decent--the charred zucchini/squash mix was fine, and the potatoes and gravy were just okay. The pie, though... oof. The texture was off (someone else here described it as reminiscent of dog food, and I couldn't unsee it). It came out scorching hot, so I couldn't taste much at first, and when it finally cooled, it just lacked flavor. I was hoping to salvage the night with dessert, but one of the staff (not my server) let me know it would take too long because of the large parties. I appreciated the honesty, but again--it left me wondering why they were open to the public if they couldn't accommodate. The vibe didn't quite hit for me either--sports on TVs near the bar, a bathroom with quirky decor that didn't match the rest of the place, and not much warmth or coziness overall. That said, I did have a sweet interaction with one of the hosts up front, and a few staff members were genuinely kind. Unfortunately, I won't be back. The service and food just didn't do it for me.

    My omelet.

My husband, our child, and I decided to try this place one weekend morning. Our kiddo had some Mac & Cheese, I had an omelet with toast, and my husband had a Guiness pot pie with mashed potatoes and gravy. Our daughter raved about her food and I loved mine. Finally, an omelet with enough cheese!! My husband really enjoyed his too, and is willing to go back again. I love the lighting. It was so different and interesting. They also have a bar area and plenty of TV's to watch sports on, which I was thrilled about because I enjoy watching NFL games myself. The staff was great. They're very kind and weren't bothersome, nor did we feel neglected or ignored. Even the lovely proprietor checked on us a couple of times. One small thing, they serve cucumber water so if you don't like cucumber or are allergic to it like I am, just feel free to ask for regular ice water. Second side note, we didn't get a picture of the Mac & Cheese.

$2.10 charge for you to pay your over priced food bill using your credit card

We ordered 2 chicken pies, 1 Guinness and 1 chicken & French toast The food was OK but nothing that was so amazing that I would go out of my way to come back. Our server was nice and took pretty good care of us. I saw one other review that brought up the non.cash adjustment fee. This is the business' way of saying they don't want to pay the fees associated with you using your credit card. Who does that? That just screams "cheap"

Poutine. Chicken curry pot pie. Guinness beef pot pie.
    SJ H.

Stopped by for a weekday lunch and loved it. I had a beer, the poutine, chicken curry pot pie, and Guinness beef pot pie. Food was good. See photo - the pot pies were cute! Small with only a top crust and the sauce around the pie. I enjoyed them. Beer was good. Vibe was good. Decor was great. Service was friendly and attentive. No AC but they had fans going.

I feel bad for the bartenders, they should have at least 3x the space to work in. I respect the owners for shooting their shot, trying to get an upscale place into downtown Walnut Creek, but unfortunately they missed. I've been here twice now, once for happy hour and once for dinner. I wasn't a fan of happy hour only being available on the patio. Since it was summer, I think most people would've preferred the AC over 90-degree heat. My dinner experience, however, was much better. My friend and I were seated inside and ordered the cucumber salad, sweet potato tempura, and Hokkaido scallops. For drinks, we had the Strawberry Paloma and the Calypso, which came with a fiery shot of rum served inside a lime. Our server, Priscilla, started us off with complimentary marinated olives. The staff was attentive and helpful throughout the meal. The cucumber salad was savory and refreshing. The sweet potato tempura had an incredibly crispy exterior with a slightly candied crunch. It was delicious. The Hokkaido scallops, served on a tostada with a savory sauce underneath, were another standout. To my surprise, the restaurant transforms into more of a club after 9 p.m. We wrapped up our 7 p.m. reservation around 10, just as the DJ started and the party crowd rolled in. I'd definitely come back for dinner, or stop by later in the evening for drinks and dancing with friends.

One look at the shelves tells you they have the base for any drink you want. We split the Margherita flatbread, pesto, fresh mozzarella, and blistered cherry tomatoes, and it hit the spot as a drinking snack.
