The service was amazing, welcoming environment and everyone was genuinely kind, and the food was delicious. My husband loved the fried chicken eggs Benedict--huge, flavorful pieces of chicken and a very filling portion. I had the fried chicken and waffles, and I loved the sweet and spicy syrup! The chicken had a very very thick batter, which isn't normally my preference at all, but it was still good and definitely filling. One piece was almost the same size as the waffle! Drove to Pleasant Hill a few weeks ago to hang out with a friend and we had brunch here on a Saturday morning. The wait was about 30 minutes around 10 am. We chose to sit at the bar since it was the first available. The restaurant is on the small/medium side and is pretty simple in terms of ambiance, but no complaints here. Service was friendly. I ordered the garlic noodles with shrimp which was really delicious! Very flavorful and quite generous with portions. I wasn't really feeling traditional brunch food like eggs/pancakes (though they do have that here too), and the noodles really hit the spot. I got an iced butterfly pea latte (lavender / floral flavor) which was alright, nothing to write home about but not terrible. My friend enjoyed the loco moco. Overall, I'm not very familiar with the eats in Pleasant Hill but this was a good place to get brunch. As most folks mentioned, the Ube latte doesn't have much flavor to it but to their defense, I did ask for less sweetness. It was good though! Tasted like milk with a hint of Ube. Delicious brunch! The only downside is the wait for a table, and that it's a bit crowded inside. I LOVE their Ube Pancakes! I'm particular about Ube and these pancakes had the right amount of Ube flavor + Ube sauce. I also got a side of scrambled eggs and bacon, which were satisfying. I ended up taking half of the pancakes home. It was a 35 minute wait for two of us to be seated around noon on a Sunday, and after that wait we were offered bar seating and not a table. But the bar area felt less crowded than the dining room, so it worked out okay. Service was quick and efficient. We went in on a Monday late morning, and it was actually pretty busy. Maybe it is because summer break has started for a lot of people, so people are out and about. We decide to sit at the bar area to sit on the stools instead of taking up a table. We ordered the crispy chicken eggs Benedict and choco banana pancakes. Let me tell you, the portions are large.. so make sure you bring an appetite. We ended up sharing our plates and I think we both agreed that we loved the crispy chicken eggs Benedict most- but they were both really delicious. The chicken was crispy. The eggs were cooked to perfection. The crispy potatoes, even though at first I was a little disappointed there was no hashbrowns, I am so glad! Those potatoes are amazing! The pancakes were pretty delicious as well, but I think the toppings and the caramelized banana bananas on the side were the best part. We also tried two different drinks. A Matcha latte as well as a 'butterfly pea latte'- which I believe was a lavender latte maybe? They were both very beautiful and delicious. The only downside to our experience here was that because it was pretty busy, our service was not as fast as we would like. I was hanging with my friends and they wanted to grab some brunch. They suggested trying this places so we gave it a go. The wait can be pretty long. It took us about 30 min before we were seated and we arrived around 1200. We just hung out in the parking lot until our name was called. The menu is pretty straightforward and of course, any brunch place I have to try their eggs Benedict. My usual go to is the Eggs Florentine (I prefer going the meatless options when it comes to my Benny) but the crispy chicken looked visually delicious. Crispy Chicken Benedict: This was as salivating as pictured. The chicken was super crispy, despite being underneath the Hollandaise sauce. Oh, and the sauce itself was perfect. It was their spicier version, so it had a bit of a kick after the second wave. The rest of the Benny is what I expect, the English muffins baked correctly and the eggs poached perfectly. My wife and I decided to go and have brunch yesterday because we were both off (This is rare..lol). We decided on this spot because we love their food and the bottomless mimosas..yummy. We checked on via Waitlist app on their ipad (You can check in online as well prior to coming). It said the wait would be 6 to 16 mins long. We waited less than 5. We sat at the bar, which is towards the back of the restaurant. We did not mind though because we usually get a table. Our waitress was June and she was super nice. She obtained our orders not too long after we sat. She also kept the mimosas flowing (You get 60 mins to enjoy). She was very personable and kept is smiling and laughing the entire time. We first discovered this Thai fusion brunch a few summers back in my in laws neighborhood in Pleasant Hill, and now they've expanded to a second location in Walnut Creek! Coming to this spot I was reluctant to try Thai brunch. Growing up, we didn't have any real brunch dishes that we considered breakfast. In Asian culture, food was heavy on the rice. So, I stuck to what I knew and got a pad kra pow (which is kind of breakfast-y and also tried a crab Benedict. The pad kra pow was DELICIOUS! Just like mama made and was truly an Asian breakfast. A few friends had recommended this place because of their ube pancakes, so I decided to check it out myself. Upon arrival, I noticed parking was limited, but we got lucky and found a place to park. The wait was 49 minutes, so we decided to just wait in my car. The wait time turned out to be about 30 minutes. When we returned, the host called my name and seated us. Man oh man...let me tell you about the table set up, they were so close together, I had squeeze through to get to my seat! Aside from that, the server was very friendly and took our order. I ordered a black pink latte and a tiger prawn dish over rice. The latte tasted really strong, and the tiger prawn dish wasn't for me. The prawns were tough and the rice was mushy. I regret not getting the ube pancakes. My son ordered the smoked salmon benedict and my bf chose the loco moco. My son seemed to enjoy his meal. My bf said that the gravy tasted more like curry than the usual loco moco gravy. Overall, my dining experience was alright. I feel that they need a bigger place with the amount of people that come through the doors. When we walked out there was still a lot of people waiting! I have been multiple times and it is a small cute brunch restaurant with an array of options. I've been to the Walnut Creek location and we came to the Pleasant Hill location to try more menu items. The Pleasant Hill location is about half the size of the Walnut Creek location. There was only one outdoor table. About 1/3 to 1/2 of the total seating was bar seating. The parking is also not too bad. It's in a strip mall. So you'll find a parking spot but may need to walk a little. The spots right in front of the hangout are designated for the cleaners. Since this location is so much smaller the wait was a bit longer than the WC one. At noon we waited 20-30 minutes for a seat for two people. The brunch wave seemed to hit a slow spot when we were seated. We ordered the Thai iced tea, black sugar matcha, the hangover, and the garlic noodles with crispy chicken. We were seated at the bar but we were asked if we'd prefer to wait for a table instead. At the bar it's a mix of the people working behind the bar helping you and a server walking behind/next to you. The black sugar matcha wasn't too sweet or earthy. The Thai iced tea was very sweet. I don't think they asked if you wanted dairy milk substitutes. The Hangover is heavy on the basil flavor but very delicious. It is quintessential brunch flavors. I really enjoyed the crispy chicken! I think the chicken was double fried. The chicken was pounded flat. But seasoned well and very crispy without tasty like oil. At first the prices on the menu seem a bit high. But the portion sizes are huge. I only ate about half of the garlic noodles and chicken. I took the rest to go in a leftover box. I saw most people either couldn't finish all their food or asked for to go boxes. So really you get two meals out of it. Each menu item tends to range between $20-30. The food is delicious and it's a decent value! Service was friendly and efficient. We had several different people check on us. After trying several of the special items I am ready to return to try the more traditional breakfast items like the various omelets and pancakes. read more

Sunday Brunch at the Hangout. Come early to check in at the kiosk. What turned into a 15-30min wait when checking in ended up being almost an hour for a party of 4. Service looks inconsistent, you'll be seated but it may take a while to get your order in or quick (each staff member works differently from observation) and we had to get their attention to place ours. Now for the food: There's that saying "You eat with your eyes first." so to see the amount of food is great but the plating choice/colors makes the presentation monotone and you realize the plate is small to make it look that way (see images). The savory plates needed a little more seasoning for our taste and when it says spicy I did not taste it at all, but the potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy soft in the middle. A nice brunch spot to try when in the mood and you have some time, but not a place that we'd return to often. One and done. read more

Don't sit outside. Soooo many wasps/yellow jackets. They set a three stack of bus tubs on a cart literally 7 feet out the front door. Not only does it look TERRIBLE, but it attracts soooo many wasps that started coming over to our food when it arrived and my wife could not eat (which she wasn't happy with any way). She ordered over medium eggs and they came out over easy. The potatoes were bland also. The reason they get three stars is because their service was excellent.
