    Oysters w/ Cajun Fries
    Allie T.

I was just here on Saturday with my sisters after watching a movie. We stopped here for lunch to try something different. Service was good, could have been better if the people ahead of me and my sisters got through ordering their food a bit quicker, but it was what it was. Also, where we sat (by the bathrooms), it stank since there seems to be a problem with the sewage system in Pleasant Hill. Anyhow, the food was solid too. I got the fried oysters and Cajun fries, my older sister got crawfish etouffee and my younger sister got blackened shrimp and grits and we also got crab Cajun fries to share. It took a while to get the crab Cajun fries, but the guy at the cash register was nice enough to bring them to our table after we waited for some time. Overall, I would come back again

50/50 w/ Cajun Fries: Catfish and shrimps

New Orleans In Pleasant Hill! I was looking for something to eat when I saw this restaurant. Went it to check out the menu and liked what I saw! However, I decided to order something I haven't had in a while! I ordered 50/50, which is half deep fried catfish and half deep fried shrimp with fries! It was a bit salty but what do you expect for a deep fried seafood! Ate with a garlic aioli sauce and it became much more tolerable. There are other items I would like to try such as gumbo, jambalaya and po boys sandwiches. Definitely going to return!

Came in again for lunch. I haven't been here in a while because certain restaurants inside of this shopping center smell like raw sewage. I don't believe it's coming from the restaurant, I truly believe it's the city's issue. But with that being said, while the food is good- it makes dining in a little unappetizing. I ordered the fried shrimp and fries basket with a coke. The dipping sauce is on point. They even have Crystal Hot Sauce packets. You get 6 large shrimp to an order. The fries were good- crispy and hot. Service was good- he even brought it to the table for us.

Burned to a crisp, cancerous Bread Pudding!!

First time trying this "restaurant" and tomorrow morning I will be reporting them to the health department! In what world or circumstance is it ever okay to sell people a piece of charcoal, burnt to a crisp bread pudding? The cook didn't notice it was burned? The person who packed it into the container didn't notice it was burned? Are you trying to kill customers and charge them for their untimely death? You cannot be fkn serious!

The name of this business makes it sound like the food would be delicious. We ordered the catfish and shrimp with fries. They both 'looked' well seasoned. That was not my experience. This fish was hard and needed the sauce to have any sense of flavor. The fish looked as though they were prefrozen and seasoned pieces. The shrimp were overcooked, hard and had no taste. How can this be when they all looked so good??? The fries looked great and I couldn't wait to taste them. Ugh, the disappointment for them to be tasteless. Aww, I didn't like this experience at all. Considering what the price was, I feel like I lost my money. The employees were friendly and the place was clean. I definitely appreciated that. This is why there were three stars. I'm not sure yet if I need to venture back.

Today's experience needs to be shared. Mystified by my usual order of 10 years appearing in multiple containers I asked the cashier (whom I tipped $5 at check out) if it was possible to have my order remade the way I'm used to receiving it. Who Dat Chicken and shrimp with seasoned rice. I even asked for and paid for an extra chicken strip that I did not receive. Cashier insisted that the order has *never* come that way and they've been told that chicken and shrimp need to be kept separate so they don't get soggy. I get it. But the dish comes sauced. It's supposed to be... sauced. Pictures below of the order I received July 2025 vs today's a la cart / build your own Who Dat chicken and shrimp with rice. Where are my green onions!? Also worth mentioning my order (#60 on 2/28/26), was sitting on the counter for about 8-10 minutes while there was no staff around or in sight the entire time. What a bummer.

Walked in with a friend here and was immediately hit with the foul aroma of super strong cleaning solution. Just what I want to smell when I'm eating at a restaurant. Looking around, I'm not sure why it smelled like cleaning solution when the tables looked dirty. The table we sat at was dirty. I cleaned off the table top and booth seats with some napkins. I get it if you've been open for a few hours but you literally just opened and had zero customers for it to be dirty already. I ordered the shrimp and Cajun fries and my friend ordered the seafood gumbo. I really liked mine. I used the restroom before I left and it smelled horrible. It looked & felt like it hadn't had a proper clean in a while. Made me second guess eating here. If you can't keep your restrooms clean, how does the kitchen look...

I finally made it! I was in the area, I hadn't eaten all day and I was craving fried fish. Walking into this place I was greeted with a "Hello, welcome in." I am big on greeting from staff. I was won over with the genuine warm greeting from staff . The place was busy and also clean. I ordered Fried Catfish w/cajun fries and hush puppies. The catfish was seasoned well, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside (not hard like chips). The hush puppies were off the hook I love a good hush puppy so... I will be back to try other items from Southern Comfort Kitchen.

Empty restaurant but waited 20 mins for a 50/50 plate. Side eye. Service here is hit or miss. I think they forgot to drop my food to be honest.... Catfish is good but small portions. Do better yall!

Came here for Mother's Day and it was perfect timing because we were able to get beignets since those are only made on sundays. They were light and fluffy and smothered in powdered sugar, which is exactly how I like them. Their catfish was ok, it didn't have the crunch I was hoping for but the flavor was pretty good. For the Cajun crab fries, the crab was a little bland but the sauce that came on it was spot on! And the fries were amazing. When we got there, there wasn't a huge line. We were able to order fast. But when I went back to order some beignets to take home, I did wait in line for quite some time. But that wasn't the workers fault, just customers taking forever to choose what they want. Even after spending 5-10 minutes in line. But the vibe was chill so waiting in line wasn't that bad to do.

My friend and I came here for lunch and suffice it to say, I can't wait to come back! Things we ordered and split: *Fried chicken sandwich - this was good (though I had to remove one of the buns to make the ratio better) *Soft shell crab - this was ok, felt a little over battered or lacking something. Not bad, just wouldn't order it again. *Who dat shrimp with Crab Cajun Fries - holy wow! I would order this again, and honestly wish I wasn't sharing this plate because it was that good! I would come back just for this. Can't wait to come back and try more!

Yes, yes, yes. I know, I'm late to the Southern Comfort game but man, was it worth the wait! As a new parent it means the world to have a warm, comforting, and hearty meal at the end of the day. Southern Comfort delivered just that and so much more. Authentic New Orleans and Southern cuisine in cozy but cool digs makes me so happy ~ we ordered the Mac and Cheese and Green Beans to start, the Who Dat Shrimp with seasoned rice, and the Shrimp Po Boy with Cajun Crab Fries. I mean....wow. Every dish was so on point ~ the Mac was so creamy and honestly would go back just to order that alone. Shell pasta Mac is the best Mac (if you know you know), and being a green bean fan anywhere I go, these were done just right. Crispy, yet full of flavor. Highly recommend the Who Dat Shrimp ~ I know there are a few variations of fried shrimp on the menu, but loved loved loved the seasoning on this. Another dish I would comeback for in a heartbeat. And although the Po boy was my husband's, I tried a bite and appreciated the super fresh/soft bread. That can be a make or break for such a traditional sandwich. Yum all around, all of the flavors packed a punch and loved the extra sauces delivered to the table! Sean and his staff were awesome & the vibes were at an all time high for a Tuesday evening. Value was there for quality and quantity, and with plenty of parking and indoor seating, it's a win for us. Wish we lived closer or this would be our neighborhood spot. For anyone who hasn't tried SCK yet, the proof is in the bread pudding with the whiskey reduction sauce :))

Does The shrimp and Grits have pork in it?

No. They're soooo good and if you like a little kick, get the WhoDat Shrimp & Grits and tell them to make sure they put the shrimp on top of the grits, DELISH. They are actually both really good

    What are the hours?

Looks like on Mondays they are closed

Doesn't look like any vegan options?

The young lady behind the counter greeted promptly and told us we could sit anywhere or outside. I ordered the slider trio (crab, shrimp and lobster) but was immediately told they had no lobster but could substitute the lobster for either crab or shrimp. I was fine with that, got two crab and one shrimp. I ordered a Sangria and asked if I could order individual oysters. She explained that yes I could but it was happy hour, so the set of 6 oysters was only $15. Um YES please and TY! After we placed our order we wondered outside to the back and it was cute out there, almost sat outside but for the cool weather and the fact that the tables were not cleared off. We went back inside and sat. The food cameo out quickly. My trio was good, the bread was delicious. I do wish I'd have gotten the 2 shrimp, because my shrimp slider was better than the crab (in my opinion) but the shrimp slider, had only 1 shrimp butterflied. Still it was delicious. The crab slider was yummy. My bestie orders a crab melt, she enjoyed it. My Oysters were, oysters - nothing extra ordinary. They arrived with hot sauce, lemon wedges and vinegar/ onions sauce, yummy. Wish they offered baked oysters. I'd definitely return. Cute little spot.

Great Italian style restaurant, small and intimate. The service was great, the owner himself was serving and shaking hands with the customers. He came back again, asked the same question, and once again we had to ask for water. Instead of paying attention to his tables, he appeared to be watching the TV. Another waiter eventually noticed we still didn't have water and brought it to us. Our waiter later asked if we wanted bread, and we said yes. After another long wait, he brought us the appetizer bread, which came with an extra charge. We never ordered an appetizer and reasonably assumed he was offering the complimentary table bread. At no point did he explain there would be a charge. A different waiter ended up bringing out our meals. Our assigned waiter was virtually absent for the rest of the meal and didn't return until it was time to drop off the check. The service was inattentive, unprofessional, and lacked even the most basic communication. It was frustrating to have another server step in repeatedly while our own waiter was nowhere to be found. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below expectations.
