Others have said it already but it rings true: if you want a decent pizza you will be satisfied. You won't be wowed but you will be full. Order anything else and it's a mixed bag (literally since chances are your order will have gotten mixed up). The other foods are not bad, but it's more like you went to a friends house for dinner when you were younger. Right down to the frozen fish from a box. Overall it's a decent place to eat if you want pizza and you have kids. Meals are simple and easy, prices are middle of the road but they well save you a night of cooking. Three stars because they're fast and very nice. I've only done delivery but it's not the first time the order was VERY wrong, only this time it was $12 wrong. I thought I misheard the total but no, was charged $40 when it should have been about $20, and be aware that there is added tax, delivery, AND "service charge". One of the most wonderful pizza places my family has ever been to. Pizza was great, garlic bread was perfectly crisped and nicely seasoned, and the mozzarella sticks had just the right amount of cheese in them. The waitress was very nice and did a great job with serving us especially considering they seem a little understaffed today. Overall the experience was really enjoyable. The patrons here are usually seniors and conservative, T-shirt-wearing, jean and baseball-cap kind of locals. There is a bar in the back. The food is iceberg lettuce salads and high carb. No organics but good-cheap-comfort food. I really like their Mexican Pizza and their Red Dog pizza is goofy-good fun. read more

Gotta update here, based on a couple items. When we're in the mood for a high calorie splurge, we get the zachary's special.. Doesn't happen too often, but it does happen. The ovens rotate the pizza through, so I make sure and ask for it a little crispy to make sure all the ingredients have a chance to cook and the bottom of the crust has a little char to it. The bar is cozy and reasonably priced and having a cocktail and eating pizza at the bar isn't a bad way to spend an hour. Incidentally, the staff is great, and the crowd is very local. A favorite pizza spot for many of the locals. The ambiance is very causal with a dim light setting. A great place for families and large groups to dine in. The sandwiches are very good! Stopped in for takeout pizza on our way to the drive in next door. Realized I had forgotten to order ranch dressing after they had run my card. The woman behind the counter says "nice move man, I see how you planned that" indicating that I was trying to sneak something on the order I didn't pay for. I said I would just add it on the tip line. After she walked away she casually joked with another waitress about what I had done. She then walked over and said it was no problem. I grabbed my food and headed out the door. When we got to our location we opened the bag an surprise, no ranch. So let me get this straight, I make a mistake and order it, you give me shit about it, then say it's no problem, then you don't even bother giving me the item you gave me shit about in the first place. I've finally given up on Zachary's. After being a fairly regular customer for a number of years, it's time to cross this restaurant off my list. I can't remember when they last updated their menu other than to raise prices. While other restaurants update their menu items from time to time, the owner of this one just doesn't want to change with the times. While many small sandwich shops bake their own bread, Subway and Quiznos come to mind, or buy artisan bread for their sandwich offerings, Zachary's uses the least expensive, most tasteless bread rolls available. Also, it seems they have become more stingy with sandwich ingredients. There are better choices in Colchester and Burlington's New North End than Zachary's... read more

I love Zachary's I have been going there for over 25 years. You can always count on the food being the same fresh and hot. I love the hot subs Turkey being my favorite. The double baked wings are super get them hot. They have a small pub in there too fun have a drink mostly locals with TVs . I met the owner there a few years ago lots of fun. Treats you like family. Ordered a pizza and was told 45 minutes. I called a hour and 5 the lady said it would be minutes there in two minutes, I told her if it was not here in 5, I was calling back to cancel. Although I know that location has changed owners I dont believe the quality has taken a dive like this location... My family and I decided to have dinner out at the Colchester location on Heineburg Dr. and the service was clueless... The waitress had no idea about the menu items or the prices... The cheesy bread sticks have shrunk substantially and the amount of cheese is laughable... Im not sure I will return to this location to pay $18.99 for such a small pizza when most places are much better quality for a far better price! read more

Awful awful service. We were sitting at pur table for about 10 minutes before a waitress addressed us and came over to get our drink orders. I quickly piped up and ordered breadsticks so we could get them early because I have a small child who gets antsy and restless. It took about 25-30min JUST to get our breadsticks. My child was loud and couldn't sit still. We spoke up about how we wanted to order our entrees when she brought us our breadsticks. Then waited for 40 MINUTES! For a salad, 10 wings, and two orders of chicken tenders and fries. FOURTY MINUTES! My mom inquired about why it took so long for our food and she cane back with a rude "well it's because we are busy. It's a saturday night." There was no more than 4 families in that restaurant. Worst service EVER!! Took two and a half hours to get my delivery!!! I live within a mile of the place, when I asked for the manager the young man on the phone had no idea what was going on. Needless to say I would not recommend nor ever use this place again. To top it off the food was cold and junk, maybe because it sat for two hours. The food isn't anything exciting but it taste good and is great comfort food. The people who work here have worked here for years and are always friendly.
