My husband bought my wedding ring from Zales in 2022. My ring needed to have the band reshaped and my main diamond fell out of my setting so he took it in to have it repaired since we have the lifetime warranty. This was several days prior to Thanksgiving. They had a difficult time finding him in the system and at first said the ring wasn't purchased at Zales. I still had the box and said nope go back. So he did. They finally found him and took the ring and noted what needed to be done. They told him it would take 2 weeks. Fast forward to a few days after the 2 week mark and we went to the mall on other errands and decided to see if it was done. They couldn't find it. Didn't know anything. I was becoming very upset. It's my wedding ring!!! They finally figured it out. They didn't even send it out to be repaired until the 4th of December. They told us it wouldn't be done until probably the 31st due to the extensive damage. Total crap. It needed the band reshaped which I have had done before and it took about 4 minutes and the stone reset. Lies. Fast forward to January 1st and my husband calls them..they know nothing and have to email the repair shop and will call us with an update. It's now 7 days later and we still have heard nothing back. At this point I am furious. I want my ring back. I want at least an update. It's your darn job to do customer service. Who knows if or when I will see it again. I have no faith in that store and will purchase nothing from them going forward. Maybe in another month I will get some information on my ring. To say I am dissatisfied is an understatement. Zales Boise Towne Square was dishonest with me, and ruined my planned Christmas ring for my husband. We had already selected the ring, sized it and it had come back all sized up and Christmas ready. I was told a different price after trade in from two different associates. The day I brought in my trade I was told by the district manager that her employees (2 different) had misquoted me, AND, she tried to increase the trade in price by over $1000 more using the excuse that her employees didn't work the trade in process correctly, AND THEN, tried to get us to pay for the ring out right at over $2000 and told us that trading the ring would not be as wise as buying the ring outright at over a 1000 percent mark up from what we were originally quoted by our jeweler when initially we decided to purchase the ring. I had also purchased 4 other rings this month for Christmas for other family members, this would've been our 5th ring purchase this month, and they totally dismissed the volume of business that we do with them. I am very disappointed and will take my business elsewhere where the staff is honest and trustworthy, and with a tea dedicated to making things right when a problem arises. I am very disappointed and will be looking for a new jeweler and will tell everyone I know about the ruined Christmas gift from Zales. They cannot be trusted! read more

I went in to trade in some jewelry for my wife to get a new wedding ring. Had a few issues where I had to come back home to get paperwork but it all worked out in the end and my wife got the ring that she really wanted. Great Ring, Terrible Service! Went in with my girlfriend on a Tuesday to look at an engagement ring Zales had shipped in from their Seattle location for us to see and her to try on. We went in and the service was great, she tried the ring on, and all was well. After shopping around at a few different stores we decided that was the ring, so I set up an appointment with Zales for Saturday so I could pay for the ring and my mom could come look at it. Come Saturday, my mom and I go in, and Zales has lost the ring! Just completely gone! They spend about 20 minutes looking for it (again, my mom had driven about 45 minutes to come look at it), and still couldn't find it. Finally, the lady pulled out a very similar ring for my mom to look at and told me they would ship a new ring in for me. Slightly frustrated, but not too worried about it, I paid for the ring, told them it needed resized to a 6.25 (the saleswoman wrote it down), and left for the day. The next day, I remembered my girlfriend and I had talked about doing an engraving on the ring so I called Zales, they pulled up my information, and I told them I wanted an engraving on the ring. The woman on the phone was very helpful and had me text her exactly what I wanted engraved and exactly what I wanted it to look like. I did so, and was told the new ring would be in on Wednesday and then they would send it off for resizing and engraving and I would be able to pick it up 2'ish weeks later on the 16th. About a week later, I get a call from Zales saying my ring is ready to be picked up, so assuming the process was just quicker than expected, I head in to pick up the ring. When I get there they pull out the ring and hand it to me. The lady tells me it's a better diamond than the first ring, but then I check and there's no engraving on it! I ask if it had been resized, and the woman checks it... nope! It's still a 7. I told her I had asked for it to be resized and engraved, and she responded that none of that had been relayed to her. Much more frustrated now, I fill out the engraving form in person and I watch her package the ring up to be sent for resizing and engraving. She puts a rush on the order, but it's still going to be back 2 days later than they originally told me it would be (now it will be ready on the 18th). Fast forward a few days and I call Zale's customer service to see if I can get a discount or something for my troubles. The customer service lady on the phone (Erika) is super snotty and treats me like I'm in the wrong through the whole conversation. I explain my problem and she calls the store to see what's going on and what they can do. After a few minutes on hold Erika comes back on the line and tells me, "well first off it sounds like they gave you a better diamond" which is true, but I didn't ask for a better diamond, I just wanted my ring engraved and resized by the date they said it would be done! The first diamond was perfectly fine! Then Erika says "it's also store policy to call customers when their product comes into the store, and they just hadn't gotten the chance to send it out for resizing and engraving yet when you came in." Which is 100% false. They called me and said it was ready to be picked up! And when I asked about engraving and resizing, they said nobody had told them it needed resized and engraved! I tell Erika this and she once again talks to me like I'm making all of this up! Finally, she gives me a $50 gift card for my troubles, which I guess I'll just gift as I have no intentions of shopping at Zales anytime soon! read more

Wow. Not surprised by the reviews. UNBELIEVABLE! Let me start by saying that I wear an anniversary ring that my husband paid $2400 for and I wear every day. He also purchased a pair of earrings that he paid $2300 for that I wear every date night, dinner, event and anything else special. Both are from Zales. Zales was the first place he thought of when he wanted to buy my something nice for my birthday. Tonight (3/28/18), my husband I walked into the Zales at Boise Town Center. And as it turns out, I was less that wowed by the level of customer service we received. The stoic attitude, the pulling of my hair with no attempt to apologize or acknowledge it, ignoring me when I asked a question & and to top it off by being out right condescending. IT WAS ALL just TOO MUCH! It turns out the person he purchased my birthday gift from was working. She wasn't overly pleasant and I could tell she wasn't excited about this not being an regular sale. I told her I received this gift from my husband for my birthday and it took me some time to work up the courage to tell him I didn't love it and I had not worn it since I opened it as a gift. We said we'd like to look around and possibly exchange it. We proceeded to look EVERY case and I tried 2 different necklaces. This is where she took the necklace off and pulled some of my hair and didn't say a WORD!! No Opps. No Sorry. NOTHING! Thanks for that! I tried on another necklace, Italian gold. I asked what the stones were and she said "Diamonds" in a tone that was downright rude. I then asked "can you see through them? (they were on both sides and I couldn't tell) ....She DIDN'T EVEN ANSWER ME!!!!! Not one word. That was it, I don't want anything. I looked, I went though each case trying to find something I would love, wear and would let my husband know how much I appreciated the thought. I gave it every effort. After about 10 mins I finally looked at my husband and said, "Babe, I'm sorry, but I'm really not finding anything that I love and I don't want to just get something for the sake of getting something and then never wear it." He agreed. So we told the associate that we wanted to return it. Her physical posture changed as we walked over to the register, she started to process the return and said "oh, this is past 60 days. He bought it on 1/26 and today is the 3/28. The system won't let me return it." There was an up tick in her demeanor. I hadn't even thought about the days or a return policy. I never even wore it on and I tried to find something to replace it with no luck. As I counted the days I realized it was 61 days. That's 61 days!! ONE DAY.... ONE DAY?! Are you serious? She says "You can take a credit or trade it in, it's our policy." I asked if "there was anything she could do. I would hate that my husband spent nearly $2900 and not have anything to show for it." "you'll always have the trade in value, the system won't let me do it." and she felt vindicated. Proud that she had this policy under her belt. I said, "Are you sure there isn't anything you can do?" "No, it's past 60 days", she says again. "BY ONE DAY! I tell her." And THEN she says in a condescending tone, as if to school me on the inner working of their return policy, "Well 60 days is a generous policy." WWWOOOOWWWW!!!! She had her line drawn in the sand & wasn't going to budge. And then with the attitude. OMG, are you kidding me? I just wanted a refund and to get out of there. I want my money back. I don't care about an apology and I don't want to met with an attitude. This is definitely a place that has lost my family's future business & you should stay away as well. I work hard for my money and will only spend it in places that are LEGITIMATE and are driven by CUSTOMER SERVICE. NOT ZALES. I repeat NOT ZALES! read more

Every experience is frustrating! Ah, Zales. I'd like to be able to say they're awesome and you're in good hands. Unfortunately, that'd be a huge lie. I purchased matching bands in 2009. I bought the lifetime protection plan since I know we're both hard on our hands and thus jewelry. After a few months of wearing our rings, I noticed they needed to be re-plated. No worries, I'll just take them back and get them done. They couldn't find my account in their system. Ok. Some more months pass, and I find my receipt. It's badly faded and not all of the numbers can be read. I go back to the store for help and the lady can't be bothered to acknowledge me. She was helping someone else, stopped, then went to gossip with one of her male colleagues. All while I was still there. When I finally interrupted, she said, "I thought you were with that group." Not sure how she'd think that when I didn't enter with them, stood completely separate, and was waiting next to her desk area. I wasn't looking around or anything. They were finally able to read/guess my plan number (or whatever) but it doesn't link to any account. That's fantastic as that likely means they didn't even enter it when I purchased the jewelry and plan. Plus, recall, that Zales moved locations in the Boise mall. The lady said that maybe something got lost during that time. Again, reassuring as to their record keeping. If I didn't have my own receipt, I'd have zero proof I ever made the purchase. So, the male colleague from earlier presumably got everything set up. He wrote my number down on a scrap piece of paper and told me that's all I'll need for the future. Sure, that looks super legit! They were supposed to re-plate my ring and re-plate and re-size my husband's; my ring returned fine but they didn't re-size my husband's. Another time, I purchased a necklace. Again, I purchased the lifetime plan. The chain broke and I returned to the store. When I went to pick it up, the repair was clearly visible as a lump on the chain. My husband joked that he could have done that. I showed the saleslady who immediately recognized the poor work and simply gave me a new chain from a display case. If I hadn't said anything, I would have left with shoddy craftsmanship. I would think there'd be some sort of quality control. All in all, if I could go back and purchase elsewhere, I would. Their sales team doesn't seem super interested in their customers, their record keeping is clearly a mess, and they're not able to complete their work as advertised. Their prices are cheaper initially, but they're not worth the hassle later. read more

Sadly not at all impressed with this Zales location.....I went in to check out the Disney collection of right hand rings and yes the rings themselves are completely gorgeous and so I told my husband about them and he went back to purchase them for me for Christmas. Two of them to be exact...600$ rings which, yes, in a diamond store that is not a large purchase (1200)$ ish...but still. They were stingy with the Disney ring boxes which, what if he was purchasing two rings for separate people? They also tried to force the protection plan upon him which I am reallllly glad he stood his ground on not spending the extra 300$ on that because from the other review on here, it's not worth it!!!!!!! Kind of irritating sales tactics from Everyone I encountered here also um they don't even wrap their gifts for you....sorry but Kay Jewelers will always have my vote. This stores manager is not very customer service oriented. She talks down to people and is very condescending on three of our visits to this store. We have had nothing but issues with a wedding ring for the last 3 years. It has lost diamonds and been sent back for repair 4 times. We have bought their extended warranty that covers the issues but this ring needs to be replaced. She just says everyone wears their ring different. My wife works in an office setting, she doesn't build houses. This ring should have been replaced long ago since they still carry it. We are told repairs are sent to S. F. and has taken months to get the ring back. The manager is doing the company a disservice with the way she treats customers. I would not recommend this store to anyone because of the manager. We have driven to Twin Falls twice for service when they closed the store here in Boise even for repairs. We are definitely not happy customers. Go elsewhere! read more
