My past dentist was personable and gentle. Dr. Andrus was the complete opposite. He never introduced himself. He spoke at me and acted as if I was not in the room when interacting with his staff. He used harsh language to describe my dental condition which made me extremely anxious in the exam chair. He recommended extensive work and seemed annoyed when I questioned anything he said. The next day, I visited a different dentist to get a fitting for a mouth guard. The doctor did another exam and didn't suggest any of the work Dr. Andrus did which leads me to believe he was trying do drive up the cost with unnecessary dental work. I do not recommend anyone visit Camino Real, and be weary of Dr. Andrus. Relationships with dental practices are hard enough, without the dismissive aggression from a insensitive doctor.

Let me be completely honest, the dentist is a class of monster that belongs in the paintings of…read moreHieronymous Bosch. I get sick before going to the dentist and it's not because I am terrified of what will happen, but rather all the before and after shots on every TV screen and the always flawless teeth of the staff glinting in the midafternoon sun. Dr. Camacho looks a bit like Dave Grohl as the pilot in the Learn to Fly video. I wasn't lucky enough to experience Dr. Camacho, but Mallory the assistant and the dentist who was helping out whose name I didn't catch because I was still in the "oh shit what is this going to cost me phase." I don't like to talk about my teeth, so I'll try and keep it simple. A half finished project on a tooth got pushed aside at various time because like all dental things, money became needed elsewhere. That tooth held strong for a very long time, but thanks to science and particular painful root canal, the tooth became brittle. Once the filling came out (while eating a Butterfinger no less). I should have gotten it repaired but I was always putting it off to tomorrow. When it cracked and shattered, I knew it was time. The assistant and the doc were both awesome, funny, and definitely cared about my comfort. It's hard to be comfortable with a pair of pliers in your mouth, but somehow they managed. The tooth resisted and the doctor only became more determined. Three pieces she said and she called it correctly. It's a bit sore right now, but I look forward to going back and chatting with them about my tooth future. I'm notorious for not being good with teeth, so hopefully they will help me out and not break the bank. Thanks Dr. Camacho and staff. Special thanks to Mallory who kept me from being bored and handles a suction line like a champ. And I think her name was Christina, but whoever booked my appointment deserves thanks too. Not everyday you can get emergency dental with a smile. I'll be back - thanks everyone!

I state unequivocally, I am terrified of Dentists as I grew up in 60's within foster care where Dentists were brutal at best. I reluctantly transferred and I am happy thus far, with type of care, care quality and office experience from Cosmetic Dentistry of San Antonio. Dr. Camacho appeared very caring, thoughtful and thorough with initial visit. I felt safe.

During that time, I consulted with at least four different cosmetic dentists to discuss the process, cost, and expected results. I even created a PowerPoint with examples of veneers I loved, veneers I didn't, and detailed notes describing exactly how I wanted my smile to look. When I shared everything with Dr. Alvarez, she confidently told me that I'd love the result. She absolutely delivered. I had veneers placed on my top ten teeth, and I genuinely could not be happier with the outcome. Not only do they look exactly as I envisioned, but what impressed me even more was the attention paid to their functionality. Dr. Alvarez preserved far more of my natural tooth structure than I expected, and she carefully inspected my bite to ensure everything fit. She refused to let me leave until my bite felt natural and comfortable, ensuring I could use my teeth properly without jaw pain or unnecessary strain. The level of excellence and attention to detail at this practice is truly unmatched. If you're considering cosmetic dentistry, this office is worth every penny. Dr. Alvarez, you have changed my life in ways you may never fully realize. My smile was my greatest insecurity for years, and now it is my favorite feature. The confidence you've given me has impacted every part of my life, and I will always be grateful for your incredible talent, care, and dedication. Arden, you were also amazing throughout the entire experience. You answered every question I had, always made me feel at ease, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable. She is, without question, one of the most knowledgeable and capable dental assistants I've ever met. Thank you for making this experience so positive from beginning to end. The rest of the team was just as incredible. They just knew my face when I walked in the door - as if I spent every day there. This is a level of excellence you cannot find anywhere else. Thank you all so, so much. Words cannot express my gratitude

Two other dentists were pessimistic about their ability to fix it with bonding, without substantial removal of tooth structure. As I am blessed with overall healthy and pretty teeth, I resigned myself to just live with it. While it was barely noticeable to others, it was a substantial source of frustrating, near-constant physical discomfort for me. After moving to San Antonio, I wondered if this practice could help me out. Dr. Beckel saw me for what I assumed would be just a preliminary consultation, and he convinced me to let him fix it right then and there! I got the sense he could tell it had really been bugging me a while, and wanted to make it better. I felt his communication was good and his bedside manner really excellent. He gave the problem a lot of thought personalized to my specific case, and was optimistic--but realistic--about his ability to fix it with as microscopically minimal enamel removal as possible. After just a few minutes, I got handed a mirror and was stunned to see a tooth that looked genuinely as good as new. It was actually a bit shocking, in a good way. I am truly amazed by the appearance of this bonding. I feel that not only was the natural look of my teeth fully appreciated, but the complex manner in which light moves through the thin edges of my enamel, creating a range of shades, is continued seamlessly throughout the restoration. I was fully expecting to see some kind of subtle boundary or shading difference there, but it actually looks perfect. This must have taken a high level of skill and a profound understanding of dental aesthetics. Of course, the next test will be to see how it holds up long-term. Overall, I came in with what I understand to be a fairly challenging request. I was met with enthusiasm, consideration, and compassion.
