Unfortunately both the muffin and the cookie were extremely dry and there was an aftertaste from the allulose or the type of sweetener they used. I'm just getting around to posting my review from my visit around the holidays. To start, I'll just say that Zambawango has plenty of great options for those who may have particular dietary limitations/needs, and I applaud them for that. Definitely recommend! I arrived shortly after they'd opened for the day, and two women were busy in the back making a fresh batch of bagels and some other items. They immediately let me know they'd be right with me. It was quiet and I had time to look in the case without feeling rushed. I ordered a few different items to try, including coffee with the caramel sugar free syrup. While I honestly didn't love the coffee, the desserts were great! My favorites were the flourless chocolate cake, german chocolate cheesecake, and the cinnamon brown sugar cake. Absolutely delicious! The caramel walnut brownie was good as well. I had a choice of a cinnamon roll with or without icing. I went without it, and I wasn't really a fan. It had a pretty strong aftertaste in my opinion, and I think I would have enjoyed it more with the icing. I also ordered one of the cheddar jalapeño bagels. It was decent. The texture took some getting used to, which is to be expected with some keto breads. Also, they'd just been made so they weren't in the case when the young woman told me they were available. I ordered one on a whim, and I think the cheese and jalapeño sitting right on top kind of threw me off as well. I think I'll try a different flavor next time! Overall, I'll be back for sure. R and I came to Zambawango to get keto-friendly, sugar-free and low carb desserts. I had seen Zambawango a few times while driving by it on Abernathy Rd in Sandy Springs. Zambawango is in a mixed-use complex, and shares a parking garage (with free parking) with its business neighbors. The parking garage is located behind the small businesses. There were maybe 4 tables for customers to sit at in the small store. Zambawango is a small bakery and dessert shop that also serves coffees and carbonated drinks. The employee handling the order counter called out a greeting to us as we entered the store, which had that "just baked" comforting and inviting smell. We looked at all of the baked goods in the clear display cases, and I ordered a slice of coconut blackberry cake and R ordered lemon cheesecake. R also ordered a coffee (compliments of a Yelp check in offer), but was told that they didn't have any, but was offered an Americano, instead, at no charge, which R accepted. We sat at one of the tables near the display cases and It took a couple of minutes before we were handed our desserts at the order counter, with the Americano taking about 5 more minutes before R got it. Although the coconut blackberry cake was on the dry side, I thought it was delicious. The barely sweet sweetness was perfect for someone (like me) who doesn't care for things that are very sweet. R thought the lemon cheesecake was good. I thought the presentation was great, as it looked like a miniature cake. For those who count their carbs (and we don't), Zambawango lets customers know how many grams of net carbs are in each item. For the record, in net carbs (in grams) my slice of coconut blackberry cake had 4.5 net carbs, and the lemon cheesecake had 3.5 net carbs. The service was cool. Nothing stellar but she was nice. Modest atmosphere but more for pick up and leave. I purchased 3 items: the mousse, the walnut brownie and a cheddar jalapeño bagel. My price came to $18 which is really high for small desserts/items that just didn't hit the spot. Meh. Brownie: 2/5 least favorite. The brownie is a crumbly texture, isn't moist. I make keto desserts at home and I achieve the fudge like texture, so I am used to low carb desserts. I left what you see in the picture. Pudding: 3.5/5 This was ok! I would have it again if I came Back but it does have a little after taste. Cheddar jalapeño bagel: 2.5/5 I felt this was bland. I have been meaning to try this bakery for a while now and glad I finally had a chance to! They are low carb, Keto friendly, sugar free, and gluten free bakery. Amazing, right? With so many yummy options to choose from, it took me a while to decide. I landed on four different treats: carrot cake, cinnamon roll, caramel brownie and a cookie. All of them were delicious, but I see why the carrot cake is a favorite! You wouldn't be able to tell it's low carb, keto friendly, etc. I also tried a strawberry lemonade which was refreshing. My wife and I were really excited to try this place after reading other reviews as we prefer a low carb diet for the most part. I was able to get over to their location at the Serrano building on Abernathy Rd a few minutes before they closed at 4pm today. I wanted to try the red velvet cake but they were out. I decided to get several different items for us to try and settled on these items as a good test overall of what they have to offer: A plain bagel A piece of carrot cake 1 chocolate brownie 2 chocolate chip cookies Did I expect the items to be almost as good as the regular thing??? Well frankly from some of the reviews on this place--yes--- however in the back of mind I set my real expectations lower about was hoping that they would be 60-70% as good with the trade off being much lower carbs and sugar so it would be worth it. When I got home the first thing we tried was the bagel - at first I was concerned as it looked fairly small and somewhat flattish for a bagel-- anyway we gave it a try I tried it and their are 2 words to describe this bagel ---Absolutely Horrible. Imagine eating a bagel that has the texture of cornbread and that is what this bagel is. Frankly I would be embarrassed to put this out as a low carb substitute for a real bagel - if you can't even make it come say 50% as good to the real thing then why bother. This is a 0 compared to a real bagel in my opinion. Now onto the other items: The chocolate chip cookies - 1st bite impression was that it is about maybe 40% as good as a regular cookie but still had a strange texture and after taste. I only had 1 more bite after and decided it wasn't worth whatever calories it did have to finish it. The final result is I would much rather eat 1/2 (or less) of a real cookie than eat an entire one of these. Just frankly not that good for the price and calories it does have The chocolate brownie - 1st bite --about the same impression as the cookie- taste maybe 40% as good as a real brownie. My next thought is---I'd rather just have 1/2 (or less) of a regular brownie than 1 of these--even if they were the same price-- but there aren't -- these brownies cost twice to almost 3x what a regular brownie is. Even just eating a 1/4 of a regular brownie to save on sugar and carbs and calories would be better than eating one of these Next the Carrot Cake - the carrot cake looked good but when slicing it in half to share with my wife I noticed it was pretty crumbly. 1st bite impression was that it was fairly dry/crumbly. The icing was decent and had a nice texture but combined with the dry/crumble cake --the overall effect was not good. I tried 1 more bite from a different part of the cake slice but still same result --not very pleasing or satisfying. I stopped after the 2 bites and decided that it was not worth finishing Unfortunately about 10 minutes after trying all 4 items my wife and I both got sick to our stomach and had to go to the bathroom I really wanted to like this place. I stopped by Zambawango today to pick up a snack for the team. The shop is local and owned by women so I wanted to support! Also, the food is largely low carb/gluten free! I ordered an assortment of huge cookies, a spinach and feta bagel(delicious), and homemade Oreos. Each ran $2-3. The team loved them! No one knew they were low carb until I mentioned it. Stopped by here on a crispy Saturday morning to get coffee and try some healthy desserts. We ordered the carrot cake, raspberry zebra brownie, jalapeño cheddar bagel, and brewed coffee. The carrot cake is super crumbly but the flavor is pretty spot on. The icing is sweet and creamy. The brownie texture is looser than a normal brownie but for one that's low carb and gluten free, it's pretty good. The last item is arguably the best one we had- the jalapeño cheddar bagel. To call us a bagel is a bit of a stretch but since it's also a slightly crumbly texture that's held together by the cheddar cheese. Flavor is good and worth trying tho!! Coffee is somewhat unmemorable but when I asked for milk, they offered steamed milk in lil cups which was very nice. I'm not Keto nor do I have a gluten allergy. However, I do try to watch my carb intake and definitely my sugar in take. I was surprised to find out that we had a "keto, low carb, gluten free" bakery in the Atlanta area. I've been saying that I was going to try it for over a year. I finally made the time! They bakery is a heavy traffic area, right off of Abernathy road. It's actually connected to an apartment complex and a few other shops. There is plenty of parking, with a large parking deck right behind the building. Really cute and clean store. When you walk in, you forget that you're not in a "regular" bakery. You come face to face with all of the baked goods in the case and you're drooling trying to figure out what you should go with. I couldn't decide so I ended up being greedy and getting multiple things. I went with a brookie, a chocolate mint cookie and a lemon cookie. I bake so I'm very picky about cookie texture and flavor. I have to say that none of the cookies were hard or crumbly and were baked very well. They all had a great flavor as well. The best one to me was the lemon cookie, but I was satisfied with all of them. Of course, they weren't like eating full sugar cookies, but they left me VERY satisfied!! Another thing that I really liked that carb info was listed on the majority of the baked goods. I thought that was genius! I live in the metro NYC area and I'm sure there are some great keto-friendly bakeries here, but as long as Zambawango ships, I probably won't find out! For things I eat more on a daily basis, my favorites are the cheddar jalapeño and Gouda bagels (think of these more as a savory pastry, to be honest...but it's not like that's a bad thing) and the dinner rolls. The rolls are great for a slider-sized sandwich, or warm with butter. For the cakes (tiramisu cheesecake, specifically), a 1/8th slice was so decadent and generous as a serving. If you have a sweet tooth, you are left plenty satisfied! I ordered a cookie-based pie recently and I am even skeptical that it is low carb, it is just that good. Planning to try the biscuits and coffee cake next. Good flavors, high quality ingredients and great service. Literally obsessed with this place. Stumbled across this fantastic new bakery + coffee shop in the perimeter area, and I'm so glad we did! First off, you would probably miss it if you were driving by, unless you knew it was there! It is located in the small strip of first floor shops underneath the apartment / condo community. Parking is located in the parking garage behind the building, however the do offer complimentary retail parking! For friendliness and customer service they get 5/5. Super helpful, approachable, and friendly baristas! I thought I would find just a new hip coffee shop here, but LITTLE DID I KNOW that they offer low carb + gluten free pastries . So naturally, I tried the pumpkin coffee cake (which was made with coconut flour + swerve sugar replacement) -- they even warmed the pastry for me (which was a little crumbly -- like they told me it might be after warming due to the ingredients), but it didn't even matter because it was so so good! Per usual, I judge my coffee shops 85% based on whether or not they make their coffee flavorings in House and good news, they do! Nice quaint shop in plaza right before highway (400). I learnt about this place through yelp and was excited to go and see what they have as I love desserts and sweet things. It is located in a living and shopping area. There are condos/apartments at the top of the shops and the bottom floors are businesses. Once you turn into where the plaza is you will see that there is residential and retail parking. The parking is shared and I can't imagine what it would be like on busy days as there didn't seem to be that many parking spots in the parking deck, but then again I didn't get to see the entire parking deck so I could be wrong. There was also street parking outside before you turn into the parking deck. You can get to the entrances of the shops through the parking deck without having to walk outside and around although it's not that obvious. The store was absolutely lovely, it was bright, it smelled delicious the entire time and people working there were friendly enough. They also take Apple Pay which I paid with. They have fairly low calorie desserts which was great. I ordered a slice of carrot cake, snickerdoodle cookie and a medium black coffee and my total came up to around $13. I ordered my items to go and they were packaged nicely in a lovely box. They have things like croissants, bagels, creme brûlée, cakes, cookies, etc. I would like to try other items there, the carrot cake didn't sit too well with me and it could have just been just me alone or a stomach sensitivity and I wasn't blown away by the taste either. read more

The focaccia from Zambawango is phenomenal! I was able to remain low-carb -- only 2 carbs for the focaccia -- and create a restaurant-worthy brunch of focaccia with eggs and asparagus. I placed some olive oil with crushed garlic and salt on the side for dipping the focaccia. The asparagus was blanched in boiling water for one minute and then rolled in olive oil, salt, and pepper. Was surprised to find a keto bakery out here in Atlanta. I'm visiting from Los Angeles for work and am used to a larger variety of keto foods and keto bakeries being available in southern CA. Love that they post net carbs on the receipts and I have to say their keto desserts are amazing! I decided to go ahead and leave a review for folks are undecided and need a nudge. I visited Zambawango a few days ago. I am on keto, and even though I'm not a heavy sweets person, I suddenly got a hankering for something sweet. Since I haven't been a fan of any keto "sweets" I've ever made (mug cakes and the like are a true scam), I decided to do a search for bakeries that catered to low carb'ers. Based on previous reviews, I knew that there was a strong possibility that I'd either hate this place or would love it. And thankfully the latter is me! I ordered 2 bagels, one mixed berry cheesecake, one key lime pound cake, one carrot cake, one snickerdoodle, and one mixed berry cobbler. ALL of these items were delicious as f*ck EXCEPT the mixed berry cobbler. I will never get that again. But everything else was bomb. If you're not used to the fake sugars, you're not going to like what you taste. If you're used to flour only, then eating things that have clearly been made with coconut or almond flour won't be your bag. But for the rest of you who will literally take anything you can get just to get your fix, you'll enjoy this place. My fave was the carrot and cheesecake as well as the snickerdoodle. If you're on a low carb, sugar free, keto diet then you'll love this place. I visited here while in GA and drove 45 mins and it was worth it. It's in a beautiful GA neighborhood and they have free parking available sorta underground just behind the bakery. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. The food... I ordered the red velvet cupcake, chocolate cupcake, cookies and cream cake, carrot cake, bagels and cold brew coffee. They print the carb count on the receipt which is a major plus! Carrot cake - just ok. I expected the cream cheese icing to be richer in flavor and tastier. It wasnt my favorite. The bagels were excellent. I traveled via plane from GA to NJ and they were still excellent 3 and 4 days later. Cookies and Cream cake was ehhhhhh ok. It would have been better with creamy sugar free cream cheese icing, but the cake was ok. Chocolate cupcakes were pretty good. Good chocolatey flavor. Red Velvet cupcake traveled via plane from GA to NJ, was refrigerated and was eaten 6 days after purchase and was still good. Cream cheese icing was lacking like the others. Cold brew was great! If I lived closer, I'd definitely be a regular purchaser of the bagels and red velvet cupcakes! And who knows what else? So many treats to try. read more

I stopped in this cute little shop because I had some time to kill and needed an afternoon pick me up. I couldn't resist the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake and it was the best decision I've made all week! I also asked for a hot coffee, however, they were out of hot coffee therefore the boy at the register gave me an Americano on the house! I really appreciated that because I just wanted a plain hot coffee but since they were out of what I wanted he accommodated my taste and made it complementary. Visited this cute bakery yesterday because I had a sweet tooth. The shop itself is extremely cute and it a great location, with easily accessible parking. purchased the carrot cake for myself and a cinnamon caramel cheesecake for my boyfriend. My carrot cake was extremely dry and the icing was extremely bland, almost like whipped cream. Publix carrot cake is very hard to top for me, so I'll probably be going there moving forward. My boyfriend took about two bites of his cheesecake and said it was also bland. He said there was excess cinnamon and the caramel was also bland.
