Café Intermezzo has quickly become one of my favorite places to spend an afternoon. It is such a comfortable spot to study or get work done, and the atmosphere makes it easy to sit and focus for a while. The service was attentive and welcoming. I ordered the chicken brioche and it was absolutely amazing. The salad tasted incredibly fresh and well prepared. My chai was also a highlight with the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. I heard about the "Adult Hot Chocolate" and decided to stop by while in the area. The hostess stepped away briefly, but the other staff were on their phones when I arrived and didn't acknowledge me until the hostess returned This is the first time at this location. I grabbed a seat at the bar where I was informed the bartenders were about to switch shifts. She was very attentive, took my order, and made sure to put in my drink order before leaving. Parking: Free and plentiful with a light walk to the door. Came in on a Sunday night to get some New Years planning started and was pleasantly surprised by how great of a spot this was! Even though it was 2 of us, the wait was about 20 minutes which shows just how packed and loved this spot is. It's not super large and is dim, intimate, eclectic and just an overall cool spot. Food: I had the spicy seafood dip and my friend had the grilled chicken brioche. We were both EXTREMELY pleased with our food. The seafood dip was creamy and full of flavor, the bread was soft and easy to dip. The only thing I wish is it came out a little hotter. Dessert: I had the chocolate hazelnut/nutella cheesecake and my friend had the apple crumble cheesecake. We both loved our cheesecakes! Dove was a phenomenal waitress and was able to make great recommendations to the both of us as we teetered between menu items. Intermezzo is known for their desserts, I've been many times and their coffee, late night wine and cocktails as well as their cheesecakes and desserts are phenomenal! Unfortunately, the dinner here was just not up to par. The salad was a large portion and the presentation was nice, however the food was very bland. Also, caution on the patio, we had to move inside for some unfortunate bugs outside so just be seated inside during summer. Definitely try out their desserts however! I've been here quite a few times; once for brunch, but many other times just for cheesecake. For the brunch, I tried the smoked salmon benedict and it was great. The eggs were poached to perfection and even the rosemary potatoes were delicious (I'm not a potato person but I ate the entire plate). Now the real star, or stars, of this place: the cheesecake! ANY flavor! My family and I love ordering a couple slices of different flavor profiles and we honestly cannot choose a favorite. One thing about it though, their cheesecakes are always consistently a hit. I highly recommend coming here just to have a slice. read more

This is my fave chain to get dessert at if I'm in the area! My friend and I decided to pick out two slices to share and went with the tres leches and the fruit tart. The tres leches was delicious and loved how light it was and not overly sweet! It paired well with the whipped cream. I also enjoyed the cheesecake with berries and loved how the tart berries were a good contrast to the sweetness of the cake. It was pretty crowded on a Saturday night so my friend and I got our cakes to go so we could eat them outside where there were a good number of empty tables. 5/24 My wife and I Had to walk out, waitress was at the hostess desk when we walked in... she started telling the hostess "nope, nope " I didn't know what it meant at first until the waitress set us in her section and she refused to come over to the table. When we got up to leave, I asked the hostess was she our waitress she reluctantly said yes because she knew we would put 2 and 2 together that she was telling her not to seat us in her section... I'm a local business owner myself with 5 locations and 80 person staff, so I understand this does not reflect the entire business, we were very upset by the treatment... only wrote this review so the business owner can make sure this waitress doesn't do this again... So I decided to go to this Cafe near where I hung out a lot. I took my son for a late late breakfast early early dinner. I had the Caesar salad with a filet of salmon on top. My son had the French toast with powder sugar and a side of bacon. Our server was Jamie. Lovely young lady very hospitable. I ordered my salmon medium and it came a little overcooked. The server was very kind to ask if I wanted another piece or to return it. I declined but the manager came over and automatically ordered me another piece and hand delivered it to my table. It was much better. It was warm and tasty.I love the Caesar salad dressing. She said they make it in house. My son loved the French toast. Nice romantic ambience and good service but the food wasn't good at all. My friend ordered the salmon pasta and it was barely any sauce on it. The salmon itself was very mid. I ordered the crepe and I wasn't impressed at all. I ate the meat out of it and tossed the rest. I wouldn't recommend these two dishes. read more

My favorite location Cafe Intermezzo has always been this Dunwoody location. This is the first Cafe Intermezzo I visited many many years ago, and honestly it feels nostalgic now. From coffee dates with my best friend when I was in college to now our wedding anniversary brunch, Cafe Intermezzo holds a very special place in my heart. I always get the Oreo cheesecake and Cafe Giandujia (Nutella latte!!!). Both were delicious as they always are. Since we came for lunch, my husband got the egg white omelette and I got the smoked salmon Benedict. Both are HUGE portions, and we definitely shared. It's been a while since I've been to this cafe but today's visit reminded me that this place still holds up! The wife and I came in for a quick brunch meal and everything was delicious. We ended up ordering to specialty hot chocolates - DeLuxe and Berlin. Both were rich and delicious and definitely worth the price point. But if you think $8 to $9 is too much to spend on coco, one is enough to share between two people so you can get a taste. As for food, they are a bit limited on options. I built out my own French toast meal with bacon and eggs while my wife got the American breakfast with a waffle substitute. The restaurant gives you a large portion which I liked. My favorite part of the meal was the French toast. Lastly the service and ambiance was top tier. We were seated ordered and eating within 20mins of being there. And the style of the restaurant as was reminded me of a cafe i once visited in Rome - perfect for a romantic night or small gathering. We came primarily to have their famous Tiramisu. However, we spotted that they serve breakfast items throughout the day. So, we ordered eggs and a slice of toast each in their ala carte section. Pretty basic and average - but we weren't expecting much here. I was really excited for the Tiramisu (in my previous post and experience, I enjoyed it thoroughly). This one was okay. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. The coffee flavor was less. I don't know if this was just a bad batch or a genuine change - but this one didn't cut it for me. This is an awesome spot to go of you want to get some time away from the hustle and bustle of the Atlanta scene. It's a good date spot, and it has that type of low key and intimate vibe. It is in a strip mall type of situation so there is free parking. The spot is a little tucked away though. It's not at the front of the parking lot so just be aware that you have to go into the complex to find it. It has a lot of different places to sit, inside...outside... in the back...at the bar... etc. The restaurant may seem like it has a lot of little duck off areas, a lot of corners that you can find a table at, so that is not a bad thing because you may not want to be in the midst of a crowd all the time. Cookies and cream - this was great, it was full of cookies and a lot of flavor. I would definitely suggest this. White chocolate raspberry - This one was the one. My waitress suggested it and this hit all the notes.... it felt like a sin trying to eat it, thats how you know it was good lol. super creamy and subtly sweet with the raspberry tinge. Cookies and Cream - This was the first one I tried and it was super solid. I love cookies and cream ice cream and this was very reminiscing of that in a very good way. Ambiance is beautiful as always. Highly recommended for dates or business meetings. We went at night but i would imagine it'll be as beautiful during the day as well. The pasta that we ordered was immaculate. The oil was not too overwhelming and it was very flavorful. I LOVE saucy and salty and I loved both pastas but it might be a little salty for some. The last two times I've been, we received amazing service but this time the service was a little slow. One of the most sophisticated and classy restaurants I have seen here in Atlanta region with such great food options to choose from. From the dimmed lights to the highly decorated dining interiors everything was just amazing. A perfect place for a Valentine Date night! We ordered a starter, a main accompanied by a Hot chocolate and couple of desserts. Hummus with Naan (Starter): was good with the mushroom and olive tapenade center and hummus spread around it. Tomato Basil Pasta: was just as expected with some herbs and very little cheese topped in a pool of marinara sauce. The sauce was more than the pasta. Hot Chocolate Berlin: was easily the best pick of our Valentines evening. The most delicious and extremely creamy Hot chocolate I have ever had. With hazelnut spread across the brim of the large cup and also at the inside bottom of the cup was just top notch. Highly recommend this! The sweet was perfect and tasted amazing. Hazelnut Chocolate Banana Crêpe: was great with Pecans and powdered sugar all over the top and with some tasty hazelnut chocolate spread on the bananas. I loved to have this full but the quantity was just way too much. Tiramisu: was not the best of Tiramisu's I have tried. Would have to say they kind of played safe with not so much of coffee dusted on the top. Hot Chocolate DeLuxe: would be the hot chocolate kids wouldn't prefer as it was more on the bitter side compared to Berlin Hot Chocolate. It was more of Dark cocoa powder but that was expected as per the description. The ambience was really really good for a date! It's more of a restaurant than just a cafe or a coffee shop in terms of looks and feel. The dim lights are great with candle on the table making it more romantic if you are with your loved ones.
