Not the best ever barbacoa due to the chunks of fat in it, but definitely still ate it lol Con: bad parking. You have to park across the street over behind Grain to Glass or other. This is the place you want to go for breakfast tacos. They have any option you could want, and everything was so delicious. Added to that, the menu is priced very well. Excellent restaurant. I am originally from San Antonio and this is the closest I can find to Taqueria-style Mexican food, like in San Antonio. The breakfast tacos were good and my kids loved the beans ( at Costa Messa they wouldn't eat them). The enchiladas were also good as well as the Jalisco burrito. I really liked the rice and the sweet tea. The best though was the salsa and chips, which were both freshly made. The salsa was not too hot as the other reviewer stated, as my 3 year old was eating it too. You cannot expect salsa to be weak so of course it was mildly hot. Furthermore, our waiter, a tall guy, was excellent. He was quick but cordial. Better service than over-priced restaurants. I highly recommend this restaurant, don't be scared by the crowded parking lot, they have plenty of seating. read more

Passed by this little gem so many times on my way home. Finally tried it out a few months ago and its an awesome restaurant. Their food is very authentic and the menu selection is big. My favorite all time food from them is beef enchiladas. My hubby's favorite is their chicken fried steak with brown gravy. Everything we've tried so far is great. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because they close a bit early. Sometimes I get out of work almost at 8pm and by the time I get there they say their closed. This is our favorite breakfast place for a weekend breakfast. You do have to come early though, by 8am at least if you want quick seating. They carry the best caldo both beef and chicken. I went to Zamora's because of some of the reviews, in my opinion it's over rated. The sombrero plate for 1 person is not worth the $14.99 rice was dry, cheese was not melted charro beans were to salty. Another reason why I gave them 3 stars no fountain drinks and no kids menu. I asked for another flour tortilla and they charged me where as other restaurants that I've eaten don't charge for extra tortillas. I could have been that my first time there was not that impressive maybe the second time would be but they saying goes you get one chance to make a 1st impression. read more

Treated ourselves to a very good late lunch/early dinner today at Zamoras after reading the online reviews. It was fantastic! We prefer mom and pop places, and especially those that put their energy and money into the food and service versus the decor. This place delivers! Our server was very attentive without smothering us, giving us time to review the menu and answer any questions we had. We opted for the Botana for two - beef. It was wonderful and enough for four. This place has all the trappings of an authentic Tex Mex restaurant: plastic menus, tacky decor and a dilapidated building, but falls short when it comes to quality of food or service. Our waiter brought us straight margarita mix with no tequila, and when we questioned the drinks it turned out they were out of tequila. I've only been here for the breakfast tacos and the menudo. So I cannot yet give a full five stars until I try more of their food. But the times that I have been there to pick up tacos, the staff is very cheerful. The tacos are a good size and delicious. They are well priced. I tried the menudo one weekend, and it was so good. It had a lot of meat and flavor. I took it to go and was pleased at the fact that they had wrapped everything up very well and nothing had spilled out as most times in other places that happens. Overall, I am pleased with my experience at Zamoras'. I look forward to trying more items off the menu. read more

This place is awesome!!! I finally visited this amazing restaurant after hearing great things about it & seeing the Yelp reviews (I don't know why some rated it 4stars, it deserves 5). We ordered the botana for 2. It is VERY well served. Honestly, about 4 people can eat from that size of a botana. The chicken & fajita in it were seasoned nicely. They weren't to salty. They do serve chips & salsa when you arrive. The salsa is also delicious. It is not too spicy nor too mild. It's PERFECT. The women's restroom was very clean & they have paper towels to dry your hands! I hate restrooms that only have the the hand-air-dryer. I asked my bf how the men's restroom was & he said it was also very clean. The staff are so friendly & attentive. They greeted us upon arrival & told us to sit where we'd like. They also greeted us in our way out & asked if we were satisfied & I responded YES! I highly recommend trying this place. You won't be disappointed! read more

Cheat Days well spent. This place is great. Like other people have said the food is great for the price. VERY generous portions especially on the botanas. And they're not ALL chips and cheese, this place actually puts a lot of meat in there unlike other more pricey places. Better food at lower prices and better service. I pass my saving's onto the servers TIPS, most of them are great and they earned it. I believe their ice and water is filtered which is a big plus since the valley's tap water always taste a bit weird. Breakfast is great! OH AND GET THE CHIMICHANGA!
