    Nashville hot chicken sandwich, spicy
    Sefali P.

Got a spicy Nashville hot chicken sandwich and the spice level was perfect. I could try to level up next time, but might need a glass of milk. Looking forward to returning to try the smash burger.

Chicken sandwich spicy with spicy honey on the side

First time ordering and I ordered it spicy but my tolerance is high so I their level of spicy wasn't hot for my preference. Overall very tasty.

    Chicken sandwich and fries

I'd been passing this place on my way to/from my daughter's place at Rutgers for a while now and finally bit the bullet to give it a try. I think I was the first person of the day there (around 11:15am, about 15 mins after they'd opened), so I'm not sure if that altered the experience any. I got the medium spicy chicken sandwich and fries. It was a combo meal (main + 1 side), though I found it a bit weird that the combo didn't include a drink. I'd probably recommend that the combo price be increased to include a drink in the future, if possible. The place was relatively clean for it being the start of the day, though I had to wipe down my own table as it still had crumbs on it from earlier customers eating there, probably from the prior evening. As per some of the other reviews, the spice level for the sandwich was just right for my meal - not weak but not overpowering. I dislike meal spice levels where it's all about the pain - I prefer meals where the spice just adds to the flavor. I think they used chicken breast vs chicken thigh for the sandwich. I tend to prefer chicken thighs for sandwiches like this, but this rendition came out pretty good regardless. The sandwich breast coating wasn't overly thick, more crispy than crunchy. It was topped by a serving of what looked like housemade fresh coleslaw as well as a spicy yellow/orange sauce. Pickles were added under the chicken breast on what I believe to have been a fresh potato bun. There were a few small smatterings of spicy oil on the wrapping of the sandwich I saw while I was eating it, so I'm assuming they did a traditional toss/coating of spicy fry oil on the chicken after the fry was complete - I thought that was a nice traditional hot chicken recipe touch that added to the taste. The combo of spicy/crispy from the sauce/breading/oil was countered nicely by the coolness/crunch of the slaw + pickles. It tasted quite nice while going down :) Fries were hot and crispy, though I think they were from frozen rather than fresh. They were still good - the crew included a bunch of ketchup packets without me having to ask for them. Took a few minutes for the order to complete and I believe they crafted the meal fresh to order. It hadn't been pre-made or sitting under a heat lamp, which was good. There aren't a large number of these type of hot chicken places to try from that I'm aware of. I'd compare this to Namkeen or Smashville and it's on par with their offerings. If I get the chance to go back here, I will.

I just wish there was something fresh or crunchy to balance out all the soft textures from the bread, beef patty, and cheese. I also added beef bacon to my burger, even though it's not listed as an add on the menu. I really wish more of these newer smashburger restaurants had lettuce and/or tomatoes as an add on topping. That would help cut through the grease and make the burger feel a little lighter. The restaurant is very clean and bright, I liked the atmosphere while I was in there and the staff were nice!

Worth The Trip....YES! Absolutely!! The burger was amazing. It tasted like the smashburger in my mind. Perfection! So even at 30 minutes from my house and horrific parking, I would definitely come back. Grades: Double Patty: A++

The don't accept reservations, but you can put your name on the waitlist queue and they will text you a few minutes before to let you know that their table is available. I'd avoid going here on Valentine's Day as it was impossible to get off that waitlist! I've gone in the evening but their brunch menu is definitely better. Service is great and you can scan the QR code for their menu. For brunch, they have a lot of options from crêpes to omelettes. This place is not a BYOB but they have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails on the menu. Decor is modern, airy, and of course - pink! They also have a separate café and pastry counter if you're just stopping in and want something quicker instead of sitting down. On our most recent visit, I had the Dubai chocolate pistachio crêpe, and it was really delicious, not too sweet or too rich. And I also had the strawberry Matcha, which I enjoyed. I think this is a great spot for a weekend date, girls brunch, or just an every day indulgence. Looking forward to my next visit.

Each dish was packed with flavor. The crispy chicken sandwich was perfectly cooked, with a super crispy coating that stayed intact (always a good sign!). The masala fries were seasoned just right. When I approached the register, the employee asked who I was picking up for. I showed her the order information on my phone, and she checked it before walking away. The problem was that she never came back or gave me any update. I was left standing there waiting, assuming the order was still being prepared. After waiting longer than necessary, I had to approach another employee to find out what was happening. I was then told that my food had actually been ready for several minutes. That was frustrating because a simple update or acknowledgment would have avoided the entire situation. What bothered me most was that when I finally brought up the issue, instead of acknowledging the inconvenience, I felt like I was being brushed off with a quick "have a good night." I understand that restaurants can get busy, and I'm not expecting perfect service every time. However, basic communication, attentiveness, and respect go a long way especially when someone is simply trying to pick up an order. I'm leaving this review because the pickup process needs improvement. Management should make sure employees are communicating with customers and following through after asking them for their order information. A little better customer service would make a big difference.

A short walk later, I found myself at Destination Dogs, a place I had seen in photographs that suggested capaciousness. In reality, it is smaller.  This is not a complaint, just an observation.  I remember once hearing something about the contents of small packages. At 12:30 the place was full. Packed with humanity and appetite. I was seated quickly, as if someone had anticipated my hunger in advance. From the bar came the sound of construction crews discussing their midday rituals. Apparently this is where they come on Fridays, to repair themselves while they repair the city. It explained everything. Service was swift and attentive, a minor miracle given the crowd. I began with a Scotch egg, an item that seemed to have wandered in from another story entirely. I ordered it for that reason. I had always imagined my first Scotch egg would be eaten in an English pub under low ceilings and older regrets. Instead, here it was. Perfectly crisp, warm, and generous. The universe does not ask for permission. Then came the main event. The menu is an atlas of hot dogs. Domestic. International. Proteins in tube form arranged like possibilities. There is even an invitation to build your own, which I accepted. I attempted to recreate a favorite from Crif Dogs, a thing called the Spicy Redneck. Bacon wrapped dog. Pickled jalapenos. Coleslaw. Simple in theory. Destination Dogs improved upon it in every way that matters. The bacon crisped with purpose. The jalapenos spoke clearly. The coleslaw behaved. The hot dog itself seemed proud to be there. All of this, plus a 16 ounce beer, cost me about twenty five dollars with tip. A small price for order in a chaotic universe. Five stars. Not because perfection exists, but because this comes close enough to make the argument.
