7. Mixed Kabob Platter

Zinger Burger - This isn't your average burger. Crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor -- it hits that sweet spot between spicy and savory. Every bite had me reaching for more. It's easily one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Philly Cheesesteak - Tender slices of perfectly seasoned meat with gooey melted cheese and just the right amount of peppers and onions. Honestly, this cheesesteak rivals some of the big city sandwich shops -- all at a fraction of the price. Kabobs - Whether it's chicken, or beef, the kabobs here are next level. The meat is juicy and well-marinated, grilled to perfection, and served with fresh sides that really complete the meal. - not greasy at all. service was excellent and the ambiance is so cool. Thank you again for an amazing experience

Very tasty middle eastern food that is not greasy yet the meat is tender and fresh. We fed 6 adults and 3 kids with leftovers to spare by getting a chicken gyro platter, lamb gyro platter and a family kebab combo platter. The price was great and everything was delicious. The sauces are great too. The white sauce and the spicy red sauce allowed for delicious customizations. My favorite was probably the kebab platter as it was spicy, juicy and had a hint of charcoal flavor. The workers are very friendly people too.

Ive been here a few times and they were still good. Now theyre just plain Rude. These guys let me wait 10 min on line. I was the only one on the restaurant. I got there around 1145am. Let me wait till 1155. The customer on the phone had alot of orders but the worker couldnt even tell me sorry for the wait. All he sqw was $$$$ from the other customer. Took this guy who look like he doesn't even work there another 5 min to answer another phone call before helping me out. I couldnt believe it They never apologized for the wait. Terrible customer service. Now that they are more popular, they don't care about you anymore. No etiquette at all. Terrible. The guy behind the register needs alot of work. The food is just mediocre in my opinion. I just needed a quick bite and it ended up having me lost 15 min of my life i will never get back. They're lucky they're the only afghan place in the area. I would rather go to Efes or Sahara or even Mamouns down the street in New Burnswick. You get much better staffing and great quality food. And they're quick. Like I said the guy behind the register look like he just woke out of bed.

We were invited to this restaurant. Our friend mentioned that he would order for us and that it is made fresh. It will take 45 min from order to table. Since our friend lived closer to the restaurant he would order. When we arrived at the restaurant we waited for less than 10 min. The portions are huge and the food is fresh and tasty. We also ordered dessert. Rice pudding and baklava. Delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I thought the food here was really delicious. I got fish tikka. The rice was oily but very flavorful and it had some raisins and sweet carrots in it. I did not mind it being oily. The fish was not oily and was cooked perfectly. It was soft and melted in my mouth, but crispy on the outside. It was spiced well. Overall, I really liked the food and it seemed pretty authentic.

Fried chicken, still bloody.

The service was friendly, and the food came out extremely quickly. I felt we were being rushed just a tad, but not a huge deal. For appetizers, the falafel ($7?), Mantu ($8?), and bholani cadu ($6?) were ordered. Regarding the falafel, there were five to an order. The falafel was very crispy and had decent flavor. I thought they needed a little more seasoning present. The Mantu were Afghan style dumplings filled with ground beef, onions, and seasonings. It was garnished with homemade mint yogurt and lentil sauce. This was light and soft with tons of flavor. The dumplings were filled appropriately, and the lentil sauce was a pleasant addition. The bholani cadu was a thin fried pastry filled with butternut squash and seasoned with fresh herbs and spices. This was interesting. The wonton was very crispy. The squash filling was sweeter than I thought, but still tasty. I also might add all of the three sauces provided at the tables were good, with the cilantro one being my favorite (cilantro I believe anyway). For my entrée, I had the lamb shank ($38?). It came with a soup, salad, a choice of rice, and naan. The soup appeared to be a lentil soup. It came out hot and was very pleasant. The salad consisted of tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. It was prepared nicely as all the pieces were small and a good size portion. The simple dressing was great too. The lamb shank came with a few vegetables. The lamb was extremely tender, but not much meat was on the bone. There needed to be a little more seasoning too as it was lacking. I am just glad the lamb was so tender. I went with the Kabuli rice which had steamed carrots and raisins on top. This was fluffy and flavorful with a ton of it. The naan was okay, a little too crispy. I also tried the lamb chops. They had an unreal cook on them and seasoned well. I also tried the zamarud rice, which was good too. For dessert, the rice pudding ($8?) was ordered. It was creamy and filling. The nice crunch from the pistachios on top was a good addition. Will I go back? I would, yes.

This is an update to a prior review. This has been one of our favorite restaurants in the area but…read moreour last visit fell short. We ordered the family platter and a hummus to go. We were told it would take 30-35 minutes, which is fine for cooked to order food. It really wasn't very busy, but the order took 50 minutes. The order was sitting on their counter ready to go, but it appeared they were backed up with making the bread. Once the bread came out, they bagged it up and we were ready to go. They almost forgot to give us the side salad, but they remembered before we left. Now for the food... - The bread that we waited for- was doughy and undercooked. It had burnt pieces stuck to it and they were not shaped as nicely as their usual bread. - The hummus side that we ordered, which was almost $8, was a half filled half pint container (very small amount) of what appeared more like a sauce rather than the thick hummus we are accustomed t. I wouldn't order this again. - The salad was watery...they need to drain the water better - The rice was cold - I think it was sitting out too long - Now for the main event - the meats - we enjoyed the flavor. This saved our dinner, we did enjoy the meats. We called them about the bread and they were apologetic, and told us we can stop by for bread next time we are there. As this is one of my favorite restaurants, I want to give them an opportunity to do better next time! The afghan bread and their rice have alway been my favorite part of their meals! I think it was an off night for them, I'd definitely give them a chance again in the future.

Everything from the Chicken Chapli Kabob, Chicken Gyro Platter, Chicken Tikka Masala, Beef Kabob to the fresh made naan is delicious. The hummus is a must try. The prices are still extremely reasonable and the portion sizes are large. The service and staff is also very personable, friendly and full of suggestions. The interior has a casual front side with tables and the back has some booths with some ethnic decor. There are not many Afghan restaurants in the area, but hands down this is one of the best ones I've been too. I definitely plan on continuing to eat here.

I got two meals out of mine. I got the gyro platter and it probably was one of the tastiest meals I've had in a long time. I thought the chicken was seasoned and flavorful. But by far, the best part was the white sauce. I would pair it with the mango lassi and it was such a great explosion of flavors - both savory and sweet. I will say they ask whether you're okay with onions and raisins in your platter. I liked them but I know raisins might not be what most people prefer to add to their rice. Service was fast. You can either order at the front table or at your seat. They got the food in a reasonable amount of time. The place looks small from the outside, but when you walk in, there's a back room worth of 30 people worth of seating. It's extremely cozy inside. There's also a parking lot right next to the restaurant and also across the street. The lot right next door is kinda small though, so you might need to loop around. Parking shouldn't be a problem and you can get a really good stop if you're lucky.

I had one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had at Silk Road in Warren…read more I invited nine members of my family to dinner on 7/5/2026, and instead of enjoying a nice evening together, it turned into an embarrassing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I ordered the Soltani Kabob with Naringe Palaw rice. My meal arrived completely wrong. It was missing the Shami Kabob that is included in the dish, it came with Kabli Palaw instead of Naringe Palaw rice, and the meat was badly burned. Two members of my family ordered Combination #2 from the menu. Not only were both meals missing the Shami Kabob, but they arrived after the rest of our table had already finished eating. Imagine sitting and watching everyone else eat while waiting for your own meal, only for it to arrive incomplete. My son's Combination Kabob was also severely burned. We also ordered bread with the meal. Despite asking for it multiple times, it didn't arrive until after we had already finished dinner, making it completely pointless. What made this experience even worse was the complete lack of customer service. I explained how disappointed I was and how embarrassed I felt because I had invited my family there. No one apologized, no one explained what had gone wrong, and no one made any effort to correct the situation. The only response I repeatedly heard was, "Wait, the food is coming," even though two members of our party didn't receive their meals until everyone else had already finished eating. Mistakes can happen at any restaurant. What separates a good restaurant from a bad one is how they handle those mistakes. Unfortunately, Silk Road failed on every level: incorrect orders, burned food, extremely delayed meals, missing items, and no apology or attempt to make things right. After this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.
