Friendly fast service. It's outdoors and listed as a food truck but it's a regular establishment for the most part. I wanted to try the Chile Relleno burrito. As much as I don't care for a lot of things at Los M by Oliver's (forget being outside there you feel like you're at loud NASCAR races ) I think this same type of burrito there may be slightly better. The Relleno seemed pretty small and was hard to taste but it was fresh and fast and overall tasty. I would definitely go back and try other things! But what they have here is delicious! The tortillas are noteworthy for the high quality texture, mouthfeel and flavor. For tacos and my burrito the tortillas are gently grilled on the plancha. No fried / crispy tacos available. Barbara S. loved her tacos of fish and shrimp. My chile relleno burrito was creamy, starchy, flavorful and belly filling good with refried beans, rice amd other goodies. I live here in Kenwood. This joint is a real asset to the village. I no longer have to drive the ten miles down to Boyes Hot Springs when I get a sudden hankering for some Mexican chow. Blackboard sign on the patio says that this place is now open 7 days per week. Zapata Grill is a cute outdoor business. We order the shrimp tacos!! Two or three is just not enough.. Yummm!!!

I had my second meal from Zapata Grill. First time was a sit down on site, where they have a nice covered patio with tables and chairs (dog friendly too) and new indoor tables and chairs just added. My first meal was tacos a la plancha with shrimp. They were delicious. Hubby Tom had a Chili Relleno Burrito, which he said was fabulous too. Second time was a take out order. I ordered the same tacos, hubby ordered the Pork Asada burrito, which he said was just OK this time around. Maybe they have a different person cooking on Sunday's (Yes they are now open Sundays until 3:00.) The service both times was very quick. The gal that takes your orders has been cheery and smiling both times as well. I like Zapata because it is right down the street from my house in Kenwood and I don't have to drive into Santa Rosa for tacos. I want to try other items on the menu, but basically it is different tacos and burritos on their current menu. read more

I wanted a quick bite so I decided to check this place out. It definitely has plenty of seating inside and out. I got a Torta which was OK. It wasn't fantastic. It wasn't bad. It was pretty dry though. It consisted of meat. lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños and Salsa on the side. And disappointingly the tiniest amount of avocado. It was a little too dry for my taste. It would've been good to have some beans or sour cream or more avocado or cheese or something but it was fairly healthy. And I needed a snack. $12 including tax, there's lots of items on the menu I didn't try. OMG, Yelpers! Get you some birria right now before I eat it all! Just found this tray-sure on Hwy 12 in Kenwood yesterday. The carne asada torta was loaded with meat and tons of flavor. The pastor burrito was also full of pork and sooo good. But then today we had Zapata's Grill load up our own plate with Birria nachos so we could have happy hour at home with friends. Wow! I live in Kenwood and having this place for great Mexican food in town is fantastic! We've eaten our way through their entire menu and everything is fresh and tasty. I love that I can call ahead for to go items and they are aways ready within 10 to 20 minutes. I wish they were open for dinner take out. The tacos, burritos and tortas are so good.
