Chito's Shoe Repair - Chitos at the North Park Farmers Market

Chito's is at the North Park Farmers Market on Thursdays. I have used Chito's for many years and…read morehave always been happy with the work they do. It's so great to have a place that does good work on shoes and leather goods. I brought several belts in for repair and the price was super reasonable. Much cheaper than buying new belts.

I had a bit of a nightmare moment with my Bottega Veneta bag... literally right after getting it, I…read moreaccidentally spilled skincare oil on it. I was devastated. I contacted another cobbler first, told to send photos, waited for callbacks, called them again and got vague answers about how delicate the leather was and how cleaning it could spread the stain... they said they'll think of ways on what to do and call me back and then never heard back again. Thankfully, I found Chito's Shoe Repair online and reached out by text with photos of my bag. Within 5 minutes, they responded and asked me to call. Jenny spoke with me personally and was incredibly patient, kind, and reassuring. She didn't make unrealistic promises, but she took the time to explain that she wouldn't fully know the outcome until she saw the bag in person. I was extremely stressed, and her honesty mixed with compassion immediately made me feel better. What truly amazed me was that even though the only time I could get there was after their hours, Jenny still accommodated me and allowed me to bring the bag in. That level of kindness and care is rare. When I arrived, she carefully inspected the bag and walked me through exactly what her cleaning process would be. She explained everything in detail and set realistic expectations while still making me feel hopeful. At that point, I honestly thought I may have ruined my bag permanently.. especially because in my panic, I had already tried a few things myself that probably made the stain worse. Two days later, I picked up my bag and it looked like NOTHING had ever happened. I genuinely could not believe it. The stain was gone, and my bag looked beautiful again. What stood out even more was how much Jenny genuinely cared about educating me. She taught me about leather care, explained how leathers react , and even gave me advice on a wallet project I was trying to fix myself. She wasn't trying to upsell me or push me to bring everything in for repair -- she actually wanted me to understand how to care for my own items. That says so much about her character and integrity. I also met her husband Chris, and together they are just wonderful people. Warm, knowledgeable, honest, and clearly passionate about what they do. I'm beyond grateful I found someone I can truly trust with my luxury pieces. Thank you again, Jenny and Chris, for saving my bag and for treating me with so much kindness throughout the entire process!

Attention Ugg shoe owners!…read more Considering the popularity of Ugg footwear, and the price you pay to own them, maximizing longevity of your footwear via repair might be a consideration. Especially in our current economy. Uggrenew is a company, owned by Ugg. Ugg uses NuShoe to provide Uggrenew services. If you are considering using the services of either NuShoe or Uggrenew, don't. Ugg's service provider, NuShoe, is inept at best. They take your money and deliver nothing in return. The worst part is there's no financial recourse to Ugg, Uggrenue, or NuShoes. Customer service as well as their legal counsel are either purposely non-responsive or non-existent. I recommend using a local cobbler for services as at least you'd have some leverage and recourse doing so. My wife's shoes are lost and she's out of not just the ugg boots, but the $60 in repair service charges. Ugg, Uggrenew, and NuShoes are nonresponsive to all of my attempts to contact them over the last few months to resolve. NUshoe isn't credited by the Better Business Bureau. Non responsiveness is symptomatic of a greedy, non-customer focused company. I guess they are more concerned with their profits, not Customer satisfaction.

The first time I needed a leather rope to cinch a bucket bag closed. The owner told me that my bag wasn't real leather. Which shocked me, but I trust him. And I appreciated the honesty. Still love the bag. But glad to know it's not made of leather. The second time I came in l had shoes that didn't feel like the soft genuine leather they claimed to be. So since l actually had to review these shoes, l knew exactly who would know best! He said they were definitely genuine and that they were pig skin. Hence why they were rougher. I had no idea that was even a thing. I appreciate his honesty and frankness. I will always highly recommend this shop and l know the owner said about a year ago he was looking to retire. I hope (selfishly) that he never does. But if he finds himself a replacement, l truly hope the next cobbler is just as good. I highly recommend this cobbler for honesty and expertise.

I brought it in and the gentleman I believe to be the proprietor took them in and advised I have both soles redone. I agreed. He gave me a ticket to turn in when the shoes were ready. It didn't take but a few days and they were available for pick up. The soles were nicely repaired and I believe I have a lot more miles left on them. The price of the repair was well worth it and gave new life to this favorite pair of mine. The gentleman was very cordial and welcoming. In the future, I will bring my shoes & bags here if they require a refurbish in the future!

While we both remember the great quality of work and decent prices, I will say they have gone up a lot and some of their work is great and other times it's been okay, but at least we got the fix we needed. In our most recent visit, I was able to get my mom's cowgirl boots stretched and they did a fantastic job! The toe box was pointed and very tight but after stretching they have been super comfortable to wear. I did drop off my husband's Sperry decks to be resoled and they did a good job, I just know it wasn't exactly what my husband nor I were expecting. The shoes are definitely a lot thicker now as they resoled on top of the worn down original sole. We assumed they would have taken off the original sole and put the new soles on, but again it got the job done and my husband can wear his shoes without slipping on every surface. It might be helpful to be more clear with what you want when you drop them off, as we had just assumed it would turn out a specific way because we were asked no questions. Dropping off the shoes was a little concerning too since all they did was hand us a slip of paper with incoherent writing on it and our last name (written by us). We didn't pay until we picked up the shoes. They only accept cash which is important to know before going. They won't call you when they are done with your items, they just give you a date and when you show up they are ready. Clearly their system works for them. I'm just glad I was able to get some more life out of my husband's decks.
