I have been coming to Zara Nail Salon for almost three years, ever since they opened. During that time, I have consistently supported their business by getting dip manicures and pedicures, and I have referred many friends and family members because I genuinely enjoyed the quality of the services and the kindness of the staff. I also brought my young daughter with me, and she has been coming with me since she was just one year old. We have always had positive experiences overall and have been treated kindly. I recently called to schedule an appointment after having a baby six weeks ago, and I was extremely shocked to be told that there was a note under my phone number stating that I am no longer allowed to book appointments or receive services at the salon. I was told that the manager, Vanessa, made the decision that neither I nor my daughter could return because several nail technicians had allegedly complained about my service. What was especially upsetting was that I was given absolutely no warning or opportunity to address any concerns before being told that I was no longer welcome. I have never been disrespectful or rude to the staff. In the almost three years I have been a customer, there have only been a few occasions when I needed to return because a nail needed to be fixed or a design needed a touch-up. Aside from those isolated situations, my experiences have been very positive. I have also been pregnant with two babies during the time I have been a customer, and I continued to support this business throughout my pregnancies and after having my children. Being treated this way now, especially only six weeks after giving birth, was extremely hurtful and disappointing. I understand that a business has the right to make decisions about its customers, but I believe customers deserve communication and an opportunity to understand or address concerns before being suddenly told they are no longer welcome. I also find it particularly unfair that my young daughter is being excluded when she has done nothing wrong. This experience has left me feeling singled out and discriminated against, particularly because I have been a loyal customer for nearly three years and have referred many people to this salon. Im not sure what's with the random closing hours. Came in an hour and a half before closing on Friday 8/29 and they were closing early due to managers birthday. I'm not too sure what this is about but this is the second Zara location to close early 2 days in a row. The Tempe location closed early on 8/30 just cause.... This is getting a little bit unprofessional and a waste of peoples time. I'm trying to invest money into y'all as a company but it's pretty difficult. Came for a pedicure and a friend's French tip manicure. My nail tech cut me a few times during the pedicure, it happens but no acknowledgment of hurting me really rubbed me the wrong way. My friend's French tips were pretty bulky and messy, it felt like they rushed and didn't really finish properly. Probably one of my least favorite pedicures I've ever gotten. Not only did the gentleman ask if I wanted a trim to my toenails. I told him yes he cut them all the way down. I hopped on a meeting for work so I didn't have time to see what he was doing until after he already cut my toes. Every time I've asked for them just to be trimmed a little bit. I've never had them completely cut my entire toenail down. There was no cuticle trim. There was no ingrown or anything that he did to clean up my toes like a normal basic pedicure offers. then the polish it's kind of dark in the salon so it's hard to tell until you get into the light... My big toes are like a darker color, and my other toes are splotchy and translucent. It looks extremely uneven for $60 worth of a gel pedicure (tip included). Unfortunately, I will be having to reschedule an appointment with another salon so that I can have my toes redone and spend double the price to fix something that just is not good all around. Nail techs are rude and when you complain, the front desk girls are extra rude! They don't care if you're happy with the services you receive. I went to Ann for 2 years, twice a month. I asked her why she was in a bad mood today and she said she didn't want to do my nails! They gave me a guy named Kian. He did a terrible job on my nails and cut me on several fingers, never apologizing. I'm currently bleeding and putting bandaids on my 3 fingers. I cannot support this business any more. The pedicure was relaxing and she didn't hurt me at all (some people I feel like dig at my toes) and the dip manicure was ok. Ambience Walking in feels like a little slice of Vietnam--in the best way. It's welcoming, lively, and honestly a vibe. Also... there's a bar (YES, a bar). Which is genius because depending on the design you choose, you'll be parked in that chair for hours, so you might as well sip something while your nails get upgraded. Also, huge plus: everything looked clean and sanitary. No weird smells, no sketchy tools, no "why is that towel damp?" moments. Nail Techs Let's talk about the real heroes: Clarissa -- I need to personally thank her for putting her whole back into saving my husband's feet. This man had major callouses, and somehow she turned his feet into something that resembles a newborn baby's softness. I'm still shocked. A miracle worker. BEWARE! This nail bar recently opened in Vistancia. I gave them a try as my nail salon of 15 yrs is located in N Scottsdale & I was hoping to avoid that drive from Trilogy. This was my 2nd visit to Zara's. First of all, they are VERY EXPENSIVE. And, I've been going to a high-end salon in N Scottsdale for many years - so I am not new at this. Zara's Nail Bar is most definitely NOT anywhere near the quality of my N Scottsdale salon, so their pricing is definitely not consistent with the much lower quality of their work. Putting that aside, Zara's is NOT a friendly place AT ALL. Yuck. They try to upsell you on EVERYTHING. It's very annoying. And this is considering that I have already booked both a GEL mani AND & separate GEL pedi. The tech cut my finger while doing my gel manicure & didn't even have the courtesy to apologize. Then, what I hoped to be a relaxing albeit expensive gel pedi turned into 2 people working on me - one on my uncompleted hands because the manicure technician was so slow & the other doing my pedi. It was getting close to closing time & I had already been there well over an hour as they were running late. So, I didn't get the benefit of what I paid for - a relaxing pedi while I read my book. Keep in mind that I asked (ahead of time when booking the appt) that my Gel Mani & my Gel Pedi be separate. They did not honor my request because they wanted to close up & go home. So, be aware that it becomes YOUR issue that they are not appropriately experienced to accomplish what was booked. And that's not even counting how rude & unfriendly the salon is overall. And the CONSTANT upselling is SO annoying. To top it off, 12 days after my gel manicure, a part of the expensive gel fell off the top 1/3rd of my index fingernail. I was doing nothing at that time so I did not cause the breakage. It was just a poorly done expensive gel manicure. When I stopped in today thinking, of course, they would apologize & fix their shoddy work, the man @ the counter said "we only fix things within the 1st 10 days after the appt"!! Well, that's quite the way to lose a new customer, as I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I hope my experience causes you to rethink giving them a try. They don't deserve it. I've been a regular here for a while, and this is the first time I've had such a disappointing experience. I got a dip manicure and gel pedicure, and I left the salon in actual pain. The technician repeatedly burned my nails and cut my skin with his tools, which was incredibly uncomfortable. When I checked out, I let the front desk know that my pedicure was fine but that I was leaving in pain from my manicure. The only response I received was, "I'm sorry... do you need a Band-Aid?" That felt dismissive and not an appropriate way to handle the situation. A manicure is supposed to be relaxing, not painful. On top of that, my dip manicure turned out thick and uneven, so I'm not happy with the results either. Unfortunately, this experience has really turned me off, and I won't be returning anytime soon. read more

My daughter and I went in for Mani's and pedi's. Both of our nail techs maimed us. My tech cut a chunk out of my toe and my daughter's tech filed her toe raw. We asked for polish for our manicures(my daughter was given gel) and when I called to let them know what had happened, I got a generic apology. It's been almost a month and my nails are still damaged from the unnecessary dremeling of my nails. A slight buffing helps adhere the polish but a dremel should never be used. I feel like you pay a little more for that experience though, which is fine if you're going out with the girls or on a date night. The qualify of mani/pedi is not any better than where I can get it for $10 less. They really need to work on their ventilation though! I thought maybe it was just a fluke after the first time I went, but unfortunately it was just as bad when I tried them again. I have been wanting to try Zara Nsil Bar for a while. It's right around the corner from where I live and right next to where we grocery shop. My mother-in-law has been there and loved it. I was able to make an appointment, easily by calling them the day before. I arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Friday. It was moderately busy, but nothing too crazy. When I called to make my appointment, I asked if I could get my nails and toes done at the same time to maximize my time here. They said no problem. When I arrived, I reminded them and they also said no problem. That never happened. Also, I was never offered anything. Water, nothing. They do have bar set up in the back and I know my mother-in-law said they offered her drinks. I don't drink, so it didn't matter, but I would've liked a water. I really like the color I picked out and I got the same for my regular manicure and pedicure. It looks great and I really needed it. The girl did a great job and she's a sweetheart. There wasn't any parking in the lot so I had to drive around and park at Mr. Pickles-short walk, no problem. They have reasonable Wi-Fi. It was $61 without tip for a regular manicure and pedicure. I've been a loyal customer at Zara Nail Bar for the past four months. Last Wednesday, I went in for a manicure and pedicure, including acrylic on both of my big toes something I regularly get done without any issues. By Saturday, while running errands, I noticed both of my toes were extremely sore. When I got home, they were swollen, and I saw that both nails were leaking pus and blood. As I carefully trimmed them, I realized the acrylic nails as well as my nails had completely lifted off the nail beds and were only poorly attached at the cuticles. After cutting them back as much as I could, it was clear the nail beds were badly damaged. I returned to the salon to inform the manager, and instead of addressing the issue, she told me it must have been something I did wrong. That was extremely frustrating, as there was nothing I could have done to cause both nails to come off like that. Initially, the only solution offered was a credit for a future visit. After some back-and-forth, she reluctantly refunded my pedicure. A week later, my condition worsened. Both toes were still leaking blood and pus, and the nail beds were pulling away from the cuticles, causing significant pain. I ended up going to the ER, where both toes had to be drained. I was diagnosed with cellulitis in both toes, and the doctor informed me this was likely caused by unsanitary tools or contaminated acrylic. Please be cautious when visiting this salon. My nail tech, Katie, made me feel so comfortable! I absolutely adored her attention to detail, and our conversation. She has beautiful talent and she delivers exceptional customer service. I do love getting a full set acrylic nails here, but it's pretty pricey and I love the tech who does mine BUT I noticed they allow an hour to finish a full set, therefore after shaping (which takes majority of the time) the details come rushed. Also, there's always one nail that the tip comes off so easily after barely tapping it on a surface. (IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I GET MY NAILS DONE) I had to go back to get the pinky tip fixed, after 2 days, just for them to be closed early on a Monday. I made an appointment for a soak off and regular polish manicure. Halfway through my soak off they asked if I could pay them, which I have never experienced someone asking me to pay before services are done. I found it extremely off putting. I had seen plenty of clients checking out after their service while I waited to check in for my appointment. Not only that but my manicure looks horrible I have smudge marks all over my nails from the tech rushing through the job and he kept bumping my nails with his hand. If I had the opportunity to pay after I would have told them I wanted a refund on the regular manicure or fix it. Instead the guy walked away right away so I couldn't ask him to redo my set.
