For the last 10 years I have for the most part only worn dresses because it's very challenging for me to find pants. Lauren took one look at me and knew exactly what size I was and brought me a few different pairs of pants to try on. I was floored when she brought me this beautiful pair of wide leg pants that I never would've even thought to try on myself. They are my husbands favorite pants on me. Lauren takes pride in everything that she does. Her customer service is by far the best I have ever experienced. She cares about each customer and wants to make sure they are happy with their purchases. She is not pushy either which I appreciate. We walked in, patiently waited while the employee finished helping another customer, and expected at least a simple "Hi, I'll be with you in a moment." Instead, once the customer left, we were completely ignored. Not a greeting, not eye contact, not an acknowledgment that we were standing there. The employee simply started hanging clothes as though we were invisible. It was one of the most unwelcoming retail experiences I've had. The atmosphere came across as elitist and judgmental--as if our casual boating clothes somehow meant we weren't worth acknowledging. The irony is that we absolutely had the means and every intention of buying a dress and supporting a local Kirkland business. Instead, we took our money elsewhere. A boutique should make people feel welcome, regardless of what they're wearing. Unfortunately, this store made us feel judged the moment we walked through the door.
