This place was not the best. the service was lacking and slow, even though there were not many people seated. happy hour prices are okay, but the selection is very limited. quality of the food was honestly pretty bad...the chicken seemed not fresh, and the fries were very bland. they also do not give tap water and will charge for water bottles, even if you ask for tap water. bathroom could also use some cleaning. overall, this place could really improve in all aspects, and i probably will not be back to visit.

. Zåtar is a beautiful spot in the heart of downtown Dallas with excellent food and a great atmosphere. However, the hookah lounge falls short of expectations. The equipment feels outdated, the flavors are weak, and the service in the lounge is slow--you often have to flag someone down for assistance. I'd definitely recommend coming here for the food, but would skip the hookah experience.

This is a lowkey go to spot in deep ellum. They have a good happy hour and strong drinks. Their hookah is $15 for happy hour which is cool. The staff is attentive and even changed the tv to show the mavs game.

We were looking for a hookah spot and we ended up having the best meal ever. We were greeted by Chico who came up and told us we could seat anywhere. Of course, due to the weather, we sat next to open windows. Chico was extremely attentive. We ordered our hookah as well as our apps. The Spicy Hummas was the best we have ever had. I mentioned to Chico I wish the Pita was warmer and within 2 minutes he had the warmest, softest pita on the table. We also had tabbouleh which was so fresh and the parsley was not at all overpowering, the perfect balance. Ryan, our server came over and we had the best conversation. He gave us great recommendations on how to continue the night. My girlfriend wanted what she had order on uber eats before, and Chico mentioned that dish was only available to-go. But he made an exception... not only was the presentation stunning, but she said she would never order it on uber eats again. IT WAS THAT GREAT. Thank you Zatar, Chico, and Ryan. What a great night!

I'm glad I stumbled upon this spot. The decorations were nice and the music was definitely an R&B/Hiphop vibe. The customer service was really good. Our server and the hookah guy stopped by frequently to check on us and make sure we were good. I got the lavender lemon drop martini which was super delicious and my guys margarita was good too. The hookah flavor watermelon, peach, mint was good. The only downside of this place is that it gets really cold in the hookah side of the restaurant. The windows are not insulated and you could definitely feel it. The hookah sat between us did supply a little warmth though. I'd definitely go back. Edit: The management let me know that the cold weather hit them by surprise and since have set up space heaters to make sure guests are comfortable. This is awesome!

Love the staff here. Always a nice and relaxed vibe. The hookah HITS and is very affordable! The food is just ok, but it's good for small bites. The fries are bomb and most of the appetizers! Lavender lemon drop is my absolute favorite drink, so refreshing and delicious! Follow me for more! @MissMo2323

I was visiting Dallas, as I waited for my friend I decided to wait at Zåtar. The host was super welcoming and stored my luggage once I walked in. I arrived at 7pm, it was pretty calm not many people. I order mojitos, hookah and chicken wrap. Let me tell you, these mojitos were made to perfection! Perfect balance of each ingredient! I saw a few plates and completely regretted getting a chicken wrap lol but it was tasty! Staff were constantly checking in, which I appreciated! The music was such a vibe both days. Loved this place so much ended up coming back for hookah and drinks the next day.

What a hidden gym. I've lived in Dallas in entire life and was always curious about this place. I attended a Sunday afternoon with friends. The place is separated; one side hookah lounge/ the other side restaurant. We opted for the hookah lounge. I can't comment on hookah experience bc I did not partake. However the food and cocktails were delish. I had the Lebanese mixed grill with chicken and beef kabob. The tabouli was great and good overall was seasoned nicely. The service was subpar and the hummus lacked flavor. I'll be back to taste more menu items. The lavender lemon drop was also tasty

I'm so disappointed... the menu looked amazing! We had reservations, which once we arrived it was empty on the inside. The patio was packed. We were greeted and seated immediately. Then we sat........................ This is the biggest disappointment on service! We had earlier plans and we're starving. We waited.............. and waited....... Then walked out! I cannot understand why on earth restaurants do this? It's amazing to me that this even happens, especially in Deep Ellum we can walk to the next destination. Today businesses can't afford to lose customers. I won't give this place a second chance. Really wish they would have at least got us drinks. That would have made us stay about 15 mins past what we should have.

Good food, quick service, affordable pricing. In the heart of Deep Ellum. Good place to grab a quick bite

It's, well, umm, very average. It is a tourist area. The Sambousek was ok. Tabbouli was ok. Labneh was ok. Hummus was ok Chicken shawarma was ok. Fried cauliflower was ok. It was all ok.

Really nice spot to get hookah, listen to good music and have chill vibes! I didn't get any food here but it smelled really good and they have a full bar!! They was not crowded at all and the people were very attentive! And they had reallllly good hookah with free refills!!

Lamb hummus and fattoush salad. Amazing!

Why do people keep rating mediocre places so highly? It's ok, but I've had a better food at lower prices.

No way should humus be this salty. Really disappointing. Threw most of it away. Chicken inside the dish was seasoned well.

Every single dish was PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. The chicken and veggies were seasoned with just enough spices where it had a slight kick, but not overpowering at all. A perfect balance to bring out the natural flavors of each item. The pita was perfection! Soft and warm, with a slight char on some of the pieces, which added such a beautiful bite with the hummus. Speaking of hummus, the Izmir hummus was silky smooth and incredible. I've had a lot of restaurant hummus and this one was MILES in ahead of them. The Valentine's Day decorations were so cute and definitely added to the vibe. The food is always so good! They've added a few new items to the menu, don't skip the Burrata or the Chicken meatballs. I'm not usually a desert eater, but their Tiramisu is to die for! The service is spot on, as if they anticipate your needs, but not intrusive. On the way out they give the ladies a rose, a nice touch. I see why this place has become the beloved Dallas institution it is. I can't wait to go back!

The service was great, and everything came out quickly, which we really appreciated. So you can imagine it was a pretty big group. The place was buzzing as usual. Turns out two other groups were also celebrating their birthdays there. What are the chances? Ambiance/Atmosphere Rating: 9.5 out of 10. What we tried: Lamb Shank Plate: tender, fall off the bone lamb, with rice that is so tasty that you can just eat the rice by itself. I don't even like rice like that; it's not one of my favorite carbs. The Lamb had a very mild flavor. 9.5 out of 10 for me. Chicken Kebob Plate: normally I wouldn't order chicken kebob as I feel that it can get a bit dry, but not at this restaurant. Tbh, most Iranian kebabs are very juicy and flavorful, and this was the same. Another 9.5 for me. Overall Food Rating: 9.5 out of 10. Customer service was excellent. They were very patient with our large group. Didn't even roll their eyes when we requested them to take our pictures . They showed extreme patience with us from the beginning till the end. It was my first time having the lahmacun and to say it's a Mediterranean pizza is really an injustice. It looks like one but there's no cheese, and the dough is actually thinner and not as crispy but it's absolutely scrumptious. It's topped with a tiny salad of tomato, onions, parsley and perhaps sumac, but I had to add a bit of salt to that. The service was great and a bit uneven as it got busier, but they were friendly and helpful. I did make a reservation, which is recommended.

This review is for takeout only…read more I tried a few of my favorites for takeout; Spicy Ezme and lamb shish. The Ezme was delicious and very fresh but takeout did not include table bread that you usually use to dip in the Ezme. The way it was provided, the only way to eat it is with a spoon, I guess, like a cold soup. The lamb shish was not as tender, and the bread was tough and chewy. Very hard to chew. Ordering lamb shish in the restaurant was a completely different and much more delicious experience; especially when the bread is fresh and hot. The cheese pide was delicious. The cheese was flavorful, and the bread was flavorful and tender. I would order it again. Dessert was the best thing we ordered. The Apple baklava is just amazing and I can't recommend it enough. Although I seemed to remember when I had this at the restaurant, it came with a scoop of ice cream, which is not probably feasible for to go. I guess the bottom line is I will look forward to when I return to Selda restaurant, but it's unlikely I will order takeout again given this experience.
