The food is okay, it has been variable with each visit in portion size, ingredients and service. The sad part is they stopped serving Caesar Salads, which means I will never go again since that is all my wife would eat from their menu. They DID have a great Caesar. First of all, leaving a review on a fast food joint seems a bit pointless because you should know what to expect... it's a Zaxbys and if you've been to one, you've been to all of them. Unfortunately, that's not the case here. I've been to this location at least a dozen times and I always end up saying to myself, why do I keep going back?? Every single time, my order has been messed up whether they just didn't order what I had asked for after an acknowledgment of "what else?" Or they just forgot to put it in the bag. I've finally learned my lesson after them not only not ordering what I asked for, but also getting that order wrong. Normally, I would never leave a review on a fast food place because it's pointless, but with all of the money I've spent here over the years, I've had it. Just don't. I have been to many Zaxby's locations and this is the first time I've come to this Asheville location. The young man working at the counter had one AirPod in and barely gave us the time of day to order. When I received the food, the Kickin Chicken sandwich that I typically order had little to no sauce on it. The fries were cold, soggy, and undercooked. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a zaxby's. I'm very disappointed in this location and I don't suggest anyone going there unless you want to be very disappointed and dissatisfied! read more

Pretty weak salad today. I've noticed that last several times they don't add the bacon on a Cobb salad. Clearly it's listed on the menu with bacon. This time, lettuce was brown and old-- no bacon -- one sliver for a tomato. Very disappointing. read more

Really, really dissapointed with this particular Zaxby's as of late. They constantly get our orders wrong and today I ordered a Grilled House Zalad but when we got home we realized (too late) that the salad had absolutely NO CHICKEN on it! The salad itself was a total disaster. read more

Service sets this one apart. Zaxby's is a chain, so it's difficult to write a review on one particular location as opposed to another. The food should, in theory, be identical, so really the service is all you have to go on. The people at this location were all very friendly, the place was very clean, and they went above and beyond to make it a nice experience for us. As far as the food, this was my first trip to Zaxby's, and I was pleasantly surprised. I expected less from yet another chicken chain. There is a place out west called Raising Cane's that does only chicken tenders, and it's overpriced. Zaxby's is quite the opposite. My wife and I got enough lunch for $15 to where we didn't have to even eat dinner. The chicken is really well done, with just a light coating of batter on the outside (not like the super thick crispy ones you get some places). The fries are really well seasoned as well, and the sauce is a great addition. Really not a negative thing to say about the place. I still prefer Bojangles for my chicken (and there are several closer to my house), so that's why I don't give Zaxby's a 5. I reserve that for the best of the best, but Zaxby's is a good go-to if you're on a road trip and you want some reliably delicious food. read more

If you haven't heard or eaten at Zaxby's anywhere in the South you live under a rock or just never get out. This particular visit I was not too happy with the wait. I was one of 5 customers in the restaurant and it took over 14 minutes to make a grilled chicken salad. This included NO drivers in the drive through. I appreciate making my chicken fresh but that long? Either way the food is on point for a great salad however I do feel their prices are a tad high for "fast food" I think a better value would have been about $2 cheaper. Other than the long wait the food is usually great I just don't stop by that often due to costs. I can eat at many restaurants in the area that are local for close to this price of a salad. It's a franchise. However, it's regional, and I had never been to one before. Like Chick-fil-A, Zaxby's is a chicken oriented establishment. It seems they've tried to make it a little classier establishment by throwing some tacky stuff on the walls, but it definitely still in the fast food category. I had the chicken fingers, and they were decent. The fries are the crinkled ones. The meal also comes with coleslaw and that totally unnecessary piece of toast. I had a few complaints with the menu. It was a little too cutesy for my liking. They seem to have confused the letter "s" with the letter "z". Tragic. These spelling mistakes aside, there was a grammatical error. Also, they charge for sauce, and I'm a sauce fan. read more

I went and order food through the drive thru and once I got home and ready to eat one of my meals had multiple long hairs and I called them to let them know and they told me to hold on, there were going to put me with a manager and I was on hold for about 20 mins. I love zaxbys chicken but this one by far was the worst one of all. We ordered chicken wings, fingers and fries. The chicken wings were overcooked and dry the fries apparently were fried with a year old oil they were horrible. Zaxby's is my favorite fast food place, but this place is so hit or miss. Can't go wrong with the chicken finger sandwich, always hot and fresh. French fries are a different story. Got some today that were hot but tasted old and very little seasoning. Had to ask for sweet tea. Had to ask for lemons. Had to ask for dipping sauce. Stopped in for Lunch at 135pm on Monday ...ordered the Zensation Filet chicken, which is pictured on the sign above the Ordering PA system. I was told , that it is no longer available, so I reluctantly substituted the Cajun chicken sandwich with fries and a Sprite drink, because they were also out of Coke ! My girlfriend ordered the chicken strip meal and Spicy mushrooms.. Got home and guess what, no mushrooms and the Cajun chicken sandwich was given a bath in some kind of dressing ! Called and spoke to the on-duty Zaxby's rep who offered to "replace" the mushrooms... I'm not needing replacement because they weren't included to begin with ! Evidently " replacement " is a term used often at this Asheville Tunnel road location! I'm out 3.79 plus tax but will NEVER go to any Zaxby's again.. I'm not sure what other business goes on at Zaxby's but they have given up on the primary business of fast food !
