I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was terrible from start to finish. First off, the food was cold and tasted old, like it had been sitting in a window for ages. The chicken was dry and overcooked instead of hot and juicy, and the fries were limp, greasy, and barely warm. What really pushed me over the edge was the portion size of the fries. I ordered large fries for my two girls, who absolutely LOVE Zaxby's fries and chicken, and what we got was a sad little handful of fries in each box. You can literally count them in the pictures. Calling that a "large" is honestly borderline robbery for the price you're charging. My kids were excited for their favorite meal and ended up disappointed, staring at a few cold fries and dried-out chicken strips. For what we paid, this is completely unacceptable. I've attached photos so management can see exactly what was served. This meal felt careless, lazy, and like no one bothered to check quality or portions before it went out. If this is the new standard, you're going to lose a lot of loyal customers. Sad and pathetic. read more

I had a mobile order that was ordered 40 minutes in advance and I still had to wait 40+ minutes to get my food. After 30 minutes past when my order was supposed to be ready I went up to the cashier to see if they had my order because they weren't putting any orders on the mobile order shelf. She told me in an extremely rude tone that it was going to be a while. I will not be returning for a while and I wouldn't recommend others do either. read more

Imagine for a minute that the fast food industry didn't pay by the hour but, instead, paid by the satisfaction of the customer. What you would see would be top notch customer service that would [have to] go above and beyond both the customer's expectations as well as experience. If this were the case, you would be treated with a venture that is worth your time and money. Unfortunately for this Zaxby's location, they pay by the hour. Hence, the ineptitude is par for the course as well as the lack of motivation and the sense of urgency. Hopefully I've used enough big words thus far that, if any of the employees there were to read this review, they've already stopped reading because it was too much for their undeveloped frontal lobe to process. As for you my dear reader, I value and understand that you have made it this far because I have piqued your curiosity and you want to know why this place is deserving of just 2 stars. Read on. Firstly, the issue is not the food but the employees and the management. The employees are typically, but not always, young teenagers that would be best categorized as "brat." For those of you that don't know the latest lingo, that means that they have a messy and careless attitude that embraces their imperfections while embracing chaos. Our latest (and perhaps our last) visit went like this: we ordered 3 avacado bacon tacos, 10 traditional wings with sauce on the side for my son, and a signature club sandwich meal. We only ordered 1 meal because the fries, which are good, would be more than enough for us. So imagine our surprise when we were handed 3 drink cups as if we ordered 3 meals. My wife asked why we got 3 drinks when we only order 1 meal, to which the incompetent and unskilled teen said "everything is a meal" and comes with a drink. Okay, no problem it is what it is. We got our drinks and the manager called out my wife's name (because she placed the order) and told her there was a problem. They had mistakenly placed a 5 piece traditional wings meal instead of the 10 piece traditional wingsl. That's when my wife said that we were wondering why we had so many drink cups and that's when the manger told her that what we bought could've been non-meal orders. Think about that for a second, the numbskull that took our order told us one thing and the manager told us another. Either it was done on purpose to boost sales or, the "training" this knucklehead got was nonexistent. Either way, the manager was benevolent enough to cancel the order and place the correct one. About 10 minutes later, we got our food and, surprise! My son had his 10 traditional wings and they were totally sauced. Not on the side as it was originally ordered but, totally sauced. My wife eventually brings this up to the moron behind the counter and she says, "that's not my problem." Fucking A it is, you took the wrong order, you didn't have the mental capacity to make sure that it was done right afterwards, and she was too stupid to realize that she should've taken accountability for her actions. But then again, she probably has never had her feet put to the fire to recognize when she's messed up. Indeed, this is the piss poor attitude that you can expect at this Zaxby's location. If the conduct here is any reflection of the employees personal life, then let me tell you, these kids are in for a world of hurt. The manger too, didn't seem sincerely apologetic - she just did the minimal effort to convince herself that she has good customer service skills. So why the 2 stars? Well, like i said, the food here is good for a fast food spot but, the service here sucks. It's almost amazing to think that this type of behavior has been able to fester to the point were it's acceptable to act like this. So, if this is how they act behind the cash register, imagine how they are allowed to act in the kitchen...no thanks. This was officially my last time at this location, there are way too many other placed that I can spend my money at and this, dear reader, is why I rated this place with only 2 stars because the staff here isn't concerned about making sure that your food comes out proper, instead, they just want to make sure that they get paid by the hour so they can go and enjoy their "hot girl brat" summer. This Zaxby's location has become a poor choice to stop in for a meal. The restroom floors were slippery - from greasy mop? A toddler continued to fall down while attempting to stand to wash and dry her hands. The service is extremely slow. The meal was ok. Bacon was left off of my Cobb salad. The store was completely out of both sweet and unsweetened tea and many soft drink choices. Not what we expect from a Zaxby restaurant. read more

Sad how this place has gone down. Service is poor and food quality is not great anymore. Let's start at the bathrooms. Men's bathroom had no soap or paper towels and broken urinal. I used to work at Zaxby's in Danville and I'm sure there are better Zaxby's to work at. The problem is they are very understaffed so people do tend to wait a long time to get their food (multiple times people have left because of the long waits), the hiring manager rarely helps out in the kitchen and it is possible for you to not get a break during your shift. I don't recommend working at this particular location nor do I really recommend the food because I like soft French fries and it never is soft. Plus I know for a fact that cross contamination happens because people will have told me to change my gloves after touching raw chicken but they themselves don't change their gloves after touching raw chicken. read more

Insane wait times for fast food. I understand things may be difficult during the current predicaments regarding covid19, however, we decided to try Zaxby's, my family and I had never had their food. I'm not gonna put it lightly this is the worst fast food experience I've ever had. It seemed like they were behind on orders, understandable, but after we had waited for about 15 minutes in the parking lot where they asked us to wait, then they gave our order to someone else, so we had to wait another 15+ minutes for the remake. Then, we got no sauce and we asked for sauce specifically at the drive thru and on the second return...so we pulled back around quickly to grab sauce and it took another 8 minutes to get through the drive thru...I can understand that understaffing may be the culprit of this situation, but the experience was awful, not to mention the people working looked like they'd rather pull graveyard shift at a sewage disposal plant than be at Zaxby's. Lol it was just rough, won't be coming back to Zaxby's. Updated the review when I got home, opened my box and my sandwich looked like it had a piece bit off of it. Are you kidding me? This is my second time coming here. First time was several years ago and it was terrible. Boy have they revamped this place!!! Plenty of parking, drive thru packed, clean inside and out, plenty of seating inside. Once entering we were greeted promptly and friendly by a young lady behind the counter. She was very helpful with suggestions. Once ordering, I ordered the Jerk boneless wings combo and hubby ordered regular chicken tenders. I visited this restaurant one day and went through the drive thru and the person working the drive thru told me they couldn't take any orders inside or outside. He didn't even offer any type of apology or anything. I couldn't make sense of it, since I had driven from out of town to go to that particular one. He said all the systems were down. I've eaten here several times recently when I've been at home visiting. All of my experiences have been with the takeout and I've found the staff to be pleasant and helpful with my order. Most of my visits have been off peak hours and yet the food has still come out fast, hot, and fresh. My last trip I got the grilled chicken Cobb salad and it was excellent and huge too. This was my first visit to a Zaxby's. I'd asked around and gotten missed reviews but since I love chicken wings and chicken fingers, I decided I would try it. I arrived at around 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday. I was surprised that the restaurant was pretty empty and there were no cars in the drive thru lane. I ordered the platter that contained wings and chicken fingers. I don't like spicy chicken so I asked for the regular barbecue sauce on the wings. It was still spicier than I cared for. The wings seem to be cooked/fried and then drenched in the sauce of your choosing. It was bit too much sauce. If I return, I'll ask for "light" sauce. I love crinkle cut fries but the ones that I received with my order were not hot; they were lukewarm at best. The only reason they got one star is because you are required to give a ring of at least one star. If I could give them no star I would. First, let me say I have eaten at Zaxby's numerous time before they opened in Danville. When I heard they were coming to Danville, I said happy that we were getting another restaurant in town that was decent and not to pricey. But once they got here, I have been nothing but disappointed with them, from the quality of their food to the terrible service they they give. Like I said I have eaten at other Zaxby's and been very well pleased, but this one is the exception to the rule. Last month I purchased a milkshake from them, when I asked for a spoon they said they were out. Now how is a person suppose to eat their milkshake without a spoon, when it is very thick? They told me to wait till it melted some and then use a straw. Asked to speak to the manager on duty and they said he/she was gone and wouldn't be back for 15 minutes. So when I got home I called them, and they said the manager on duty was still unavailable. I find this hard to believe, but whatever. Tonight I went thru the drivethru and asked first if they had milkshakes available, and then asked if they had any spoons available, which they replied they were out of spoons again. They asked if I still wanted the milkshake and of course I said no. One other time I came in at 5 in the afternoon and they said they were out of chicken and wouldn't have any til the truck came in tomorrow. Several times they have been out of drinks, as other reviewers have mentioned also. I don't know if they just don't have money to buy food and supplies, or the management is just idiots. Also 90% of their employees need to be replaced by the negative attitudes that they have. Either way I don't see this Zaxby's making it if they don't make some drastic changes, and do it quickly. read more
