Zaxbys chicken located on the corner of fern valley road and Preston Highway in the okolona portion of Lousiville. Very nice spot to be setup as there is a lot of traffic there from ups, airport and the Ford factory workers. Usually on large chains like zaxbys I do not review there food as much as I do there service and accuracy. Me personally I haven't eaten at zaxbys much. It's not bad it just isn't necessarily my go to spot. People do seem to love there zaxbys sauce though. What brought me to This location Thai past weekend was I was helping my buddy pick up a couple massive chicken platter trays for the catering of his daughters birthday party. They processed there drive thru line very quickly and made sure my buddy had all the condiments and napkins possible. They did a very good job on this catering setup. As mentioned I'm not the biggest zaxbys fan however I'd someone was then using this location for catering would be ideal. They not only processed his orde fast but also the regular customers just grabbing lunch. Good service on This encounter for us.

Omg! Stop in and try their new signature chicken sandwich. It's Yuuuuge! I had the spicy and it had just the right amount of zest. Really!! It was good! I hope they keep it on the menu! A fabulous Kentucky Derby Day treat! I'm stuffed! Drive thru was timely, and the girl at the window was very nice!

    Ants on the counter

Absolutely disgusting, if I could give it 0 stars I would. Came in right after getting off my shift and decided to avoid the drive through as it was jam packed. Walked in and was hopeful for a positive experience. It was less crowded inside, and my order was taken pretty fast. However, after waiting around 15-20 minutes, It wasn't until a worker came up to me and asked me what I had ordered that I realized they hadn't even started my meal yet. Waited another 5-8 minutes for my food, and while I was waiting, another customer pointed out the ants that were walking freely on the counter they served food at. It was only one or two ants, but it's still unacceptable because even when it was brought to their attention, they took no actions to remedy the situation. After finally getting my meal, I realized I hadn't gotten my drink. When I asked for a drink, the lady who handed me my food looked at the lady who took my order and said, "You didn't give her her drink?" She responded with silence and a complete idgaf stare. I try not to be too harsh on fast food workers because I've been there, but restaurant as rude and unsanitary as this one just shouldn't be open. Won't be coming back.

Super clean place and everyone was super friendly. My son and I wanted to spend some Father Son time together this was a great choice. He with with Chicken finger combo that comes with fries and drink. While I had to go with the kicking chicken sandwich combo that also come with fries and drink. This place is Military friendly. I will definitely be back!!!

Stopped in today and grabbed lunch! Let me tell you they were on it at 1:23pm Ticket states the name Angel - not sure if that's who was working the window or not but she did awesome. Changed my drink with no hesitation or irritation! She gladly said sure no problem. Got to car pool line and it's still hot and steaming.

It's Zaxby's you know what it do! Great prices and delicious food! Their buffalo chicken salad is huge and very tasty :)

Cobb salad/grilled chicken and Mediterranean dressing with toast rocked my taste buds! Just a little dressing went a long way. The chicken was tender and juicy. (Egg, romma tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, carrots, fried onions & bacon) Can't go wrong with this salad!

Missing the toast as you can see. Slaw was bland

It was not the best food in the world but the food here tastes like home to me. Just really well seasoned and old school. Now here's my issue. This establishment had me wait almost 90 minutes on a 92 degree day (WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD) for two meals. They had already taken my money, otherwise I would have booked it. Here's what I ate: 1. Fried Pork Chop with mashed potaotes (they were out of potato salad) and greens, gravy on the side 2. Ribs with macaroni and cheese and Pinto Beans I also got a blackberry cobbler. I checked in after 30 minutes and they weren't sympathetic. I looked at these reviews later and saw that someone said the customer service at this establishment was hilarious and they were not kidding. Here's how everything tasted: Pork Chop: very flavorful, glad I got fried and not smothered for texture reasons Mashed potatoes: good and real, but nothing to write home about Ribs: They were okay. tender. tasted like they were boiled and that's not my preference...they were also swimming in sauce. I feel like ribs should be able to stand up without the sauce and I was not sure this could happen here. The bbq sauce is part of the dish for them. Greens: overly salted, underseasoned...they needed to be eaten by the pinto beans Pinto beans: absolutely no salt--would not order again Macaroni and cheese: this is the creamy kind, not the baked kind (not my preference. Gravy: excellent Blackberry Cobbler: FIVE STARS. Delicious, buttery, so tasty. I went home and tried to make one. Seriously: no notes here. It is a must try. Charging 2 dollars for a cup of kool-aid is insane. with this kind of customer services, it would be nice if they threw that sugar water in for free. I skipped it, but just thought I would mention if you plan on trying to have some for nostalgic reasons. I haven't had any in about 30 years and I was planning on it but not when I saw the price tag. I live in Illinois, but if I ever do visit again I will call my order in, go sight seeing and then pick up my food. Don't bring your kids to this establishment unless they have confirmed your order is ready!

The dining area is small and no frills, so I'd probably use the drive-thru or take it to-go next time. We ordered the 4 whole spicy wings meal with two sides. I was surprised they include the entire wing, including the tip. Each wing comes with the drum, flat, and tip. The wing tip is actually my favorite part, and it's rare to find restaurants that leave it on. The chicken was incredibly crispy without being greasy, and the spicy seasoning had just the right amount of heat. I want that recipe! For our sides, we doubled up on the potato wedges, and they absolutely lived up to the hype. They seem like they're coated in the same seasoned batter as the chicken, giving them an extra crispy crunch on the outside. Pro tip: Order the purple drink! It has a grape flavor with a fruity twist, and it pairs perfectly with the spicy chicken. Overall, Chicken King is worth a stop if you're in Louisville. Between the huge portions and affordable prices, it's easy to see why it's been a longtime favorite among locals.

Crunchy breading, juicy and tender inside. They were not spicey or dripping in any sauce, just regular breaded and I thought "I am going to have to go to this place soon" After doing some research I found that they have drive thru only for dinner hours. So I made my trip down Broadway to Chicken King and could not miss the big yellow sign nor the already 7 cars in the drive thru. Since this chicken has a otremendous fan base, I considered myself lucky to be #8 in line as others pulled behind me. The menu is packed full of items, so my first tip is to look up the menu online before you go...less pressure once you arrive...lol I ordered the 8 PC box (regular) for my husband, 3 PC tenders (that comes with 3 potato wedges) for myself and a medium peach cobbler to share. I was very disappointed that the tenders were not fresh nor freshly breaded. They were pressed and glued white meat formed into a tender. I actually only ate one, shared one with my dog and threw the last one away. The potato wedges were the star. I should have ordered more of those. My husband, who LOVES fried chicken was not impressed. He said KFC and Golden Corral has better. The peach cobbler was average. So, I am sorry to summarize our experience as not having a reason to return.

It has a cozy, charming atmosphere that's perfect for catching up with friends. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. It took a long time for us to be greeted, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. It was just my friend and me along with a larger group of about 10 people. One thing that made it confusing was that the employees didn't seem to have consistent uniforms, so it was difficult to tell who actually worked there. Our server was friendly, but he kept forgetting items we requested and took a long time to return to our table. I used to be a server myself, so I understand that things happen and I try to give people grace. However, the pace of service felt excessive considering how few tables were occupied. The food was okay overall, but I actually thought my meal tasted better after reheating the leftovers at home. My friend also noticed that part of her chicken looked undercooked, which was concerning. We didn't feel confident about that portion of the meal. The biggest downside for me was the pricing. For the portion sizes, food quality, and overall experience, it felt overpriced. I can definitely see why people like the atmosphere because it's a cute spot, but between the slow service, the concerns with the food, and the prices, my visit didn't live up to my expectations. I'm hoping this was just an off day because the restaurant has a lot of potential.

We had a choice between sitting inside or being seated at a picnic table on the covered deck. We were assigned a high-top table in the dining area past the bar, where a few guys were watching a soccer match. The brine-soaked fried chicken is Eagle's specialty, so we ordered it. I thought the chicken was good,. So per the menu for the three-piece fried chicken meal, you can only order either all white meat or all dark meat. Interestingly, the two people at our table that ordered white meat still got a drumstick with their meat. The last I checked, drumsticks were considered dark meat. For an appetizer, we ordered the hush puppies. They had a nice crunchy texture but were very spicy hot. We also ordered the spoonbread. This was my favorite dish of the day. It was served warm, had a great texture and a light maple flavor. With our meals, we could get two sides. We requested the collard greens, green beans, fries, grits and mac & cheese. Only the mac & cheese was good. The collard greens were way salty and the green beans had odd and unexpected seasonings. Our dining companion was put out, and understandably so, that the menu said the grits came with white cheddar cheese. But instead, though the grits maybe had cheese, they were also loaded with loads of diced jalapeno. They were so over the top spicy, none of us could eat the grits. The fries were strongly seasoned with oregano. WTF? Our entrees came with biscuits. The biscuits were tasty, but unfortunately, because they contained too much shortening, fell apart when buttering them. And that leads up to the service lapse. After we received our check, our server completely disappeared. We waited a half hour for her to re-appear, gave up and asked another server to cash us out. He disappeared and we waited some more. Finally the red-headed server re-appeared and breezily explained she had been out on the deck the whole time. No apology or anything.
