I tried this place within 3 days of it being open. I live nearby, and Zaxby's is one of my FAVORITE eats; I was excited! But... * The service was below poor. Had to repeat my very simple order to the cashier 5 times... (I only asked they leave off the garlic toast because I didn't want it...yes, it was that simple) and they took 15 minutes to get my order to me, and they gave me only 1 of the 2 plates I ordered, and then got both plates completely wrong, AND gave me the bread I asked to leave off. And they were very rude when I politely pointed this out. * The food is...okay. Not as good as other locations. * The employees don't keep the place very organized. (And there wasn't exactly a rush when I went there.) You may be thinking "give them a chance, maybe they're newly trained and it's their first week of sales" That's what I thought, so I've been back 3 times in the last 2 months of them being open...aaaaaaand had the exact same poor experience each time. Just an awful experience! My first time at this location and I waited in the drive thru line. That was a joke within itself. I waited almost 30 minutes just to get to the window. Several people were actually leaving out of line because the line was so long. When I actually got to the window they forgot to give me blue cheese dressing for my salad. This was definitely my first and will be last visit here. Traveling to a further location would probably be a better choice! read more

Man fuck zaxbys. They give your food to the wrong people, won't refund you, can't handle a simple DoorDash order and consistently have complaints about food being nasty. If there was a 0 star restaurant this would certainly be a close competition because not one thing was done right. Calling to check on what's holding up I was told they already gave my food away that I paid for and won't do anything about it, simply caught attitude and told me to just call DoorDash. Just had a horrible, last-straw experience after many disappointing experiences. This location allowed us to place and order and pay. When we arrived, we were told they didn't make the order because they decided to close early but we were told to call back tomorrow to try to get our money back. Not an acceptable experience. Hours are listed until 10pm, order was placed at 8:06 on a Saturday night, we arrived at 8:20pm and they put a sign on the door that they are closed. The food tastes great, but it's definitely not worth a 45 minute to over an hour long wait for a small order during a non-busy time. I have tried this location 4 times now and every time it has taken almost an hour to over an hour to get my food. I've asked why it always takes so long and was told it was because they usually only have 2-3 people running the entire restaurant. Another time I was told that they had completely messed up my order and needed to re-do the entire thing. Another time they had forgot about me because they asked me to pull forward to wait. Never an apology for the long waits. Every time I have been people are always leaving the line angry because it is taking far too long. Definitely not a "fast food" option. I'm not sure how they get away with such long waits at a fast food restaurant. Especially when it's not even busy. They definitely need more staff, I won't be going again for sure. read more

I don't know why I continue to come to this Zaxby's location. I must be a gluten for punishment. This time when I ordered via the mobile app. There was no indication before ordering that you either have to wait in the drive thru lane or if the location offers it curbside. When I arrived, I drove around the building looking for a curbside pickup option. Didn't see it. Absolutely no signage to indicate what to do. I pull the app up and see a small section that indicates what I stated above. They have a sign that says dining room closed, and that is perfectly understandable. I saw a lady enter the dining room and then come out. From where I was parked, I saw that she didn't exit the property. So, I drove around again and saw her parked on the other side. Then I noticed they had a couple sings that said 1 2 3 on it. Nothing to indicate what that meant, but I saw that lady parked there. All of those spots where taken so I parked next to the 1 spot. This Zaxby's is incredibly slow so I gave it 30 min from the time my order was scheduled to be ready and left. I also tried calling 3 times and no one could be bothered to answer the phone. I love Zaxby's, I have no idea why I continue to come to this location. Yes, I do. It is very close to my house. The location in Valrico is So much better. I am sorry, but Zaxby's Corporate needs to send in a Quality Assurance Team to this location to ensure they are performing up the Zaxby's Reputation that I have come to value. I travel all over the state of Florida for work and know when I see a Zaxby's I am going to get a consistent, quality product. read more

This location is horrible. I have tried to understand that a fast food restaurant can have bad personnel, but you would think they would try to fix that problem. I went through the drive-thru about a month ago on a Sunday afternoon and the wait was about 35 minutes. Then again 10/18 I tried it again and the wait was almost 45 minutes. Not because the line was so long, I was third to pull up to the speaker when I got in line. I filled out an online survey the second time and received a call apologizing about the service. They offered a free meal to replace the last order. Sent my wife with original receipt to pickup replacement meal a few days later and she was told by asst. manager they do not give out free meals as though she was not able to afford another meal. Now that I have had bad service 3 times, I will not try again. Sad part is I really like Zaxby"s food and their other locations have very good service. Too bad this one is close to home. read more

Went through drive thru August 2nd 2020, the line was long but I had been craving Zaxbys. We had gotten to zaxbys around 9:20 - waited in line until 9:50. Finally got up to the speaker and the employee said it will be a 5 min wait as their system went down, I have worked in the service industry and completely understand when those things happen. Anyways they close at 10... we got our order taken at 10 then heard them tell the people behind us that they were closed. We got up to the window around 10:23pm... AN HOUR DRIVETHRU EXPERIENCE. Also the food was terrible. Cold. The employees were all complaining and not just complaining but cussing and pissed off BECAUSE someone was upset with their service. Every time I visit this particular location there is always issues that I usually just let go. My visit tonight determined that I will never go back. I ordered the wings and things meal at 9:03pm. Nobody could inform me that after I already waited 12 minutes, that it would be another 15 minutes since they had to cook wings. The blonde girl that was taking orders was told by kitchen staff about the issue. She then informs the people behind me when they place their order. I finally get my order at 9:30... open my Togo box although it clearly states I am eating there on my receipt... the rest of my food is ice cold as if it had sat out on the counter the entire 30 minutes of waiting for the wings. Then the blonde girl has the audacity to stand there and lie to my face about how she had no clue there was a wait on the wings. Finally after arguing with me and calling her out on all the lies she told me, I had to ask for the manager so I could get a refund since I was never asked if I wanted my food remade. Finally the "manager" comes to give me my refund that literally had no clue how to refund me my money and had to pull the girl working the drive thru window to show him how... To start if they are sooo slow with taking your orders and then you have to wait longer for your food. I'm honestly confused by the negative reviews. This location has only been open a short while and we've never gotten anything less than superb, hot-hot-hot-fresh food (if you plan to eat there, please blow on the chicken fingerz first or risk a seared mouth). Yes, it's slow for a drive-through, but it's no different (and much fresher) than Chick-fil-A. I guess because the latter is horrifically expensive and run by bigots makes a long drive-thru wait okay? And, yes, the crew tends to be young and (since they're young) less-than-stellar at customer service. But if you're nice to them, they're perfectly nice back. Do you kvetch about the service down the street at Checkers or McDreadful or Taco Hell? No. Just this pace. It's unfair to the restaurant and, frankly, unfair to the really excellent food! No, I am not paid to write this (though I wouldn't object to a coupon once in a while). This is good, hot, delicious food at not-entirely-insane prices. If you can honestly say that you're getting better service at KFC, I reserve the right to doubt you.
