Before I begin I would like to say that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone, so with that being said let's begin!. This is my very first visit to this establishment, seriously no lie! I decided to give it a try after I heard so many positive things about this restaurant/ establishment... now it was time to give my own opinion on it! I will say I was satisfied with the service, the food and the quiet atmosphere inside!. The employees were polite and courteous as soon as I walked in. It took me a few minutes to figure out what I wanted to order, they were patient. One employee walked off to check on another order after I said give me a minute, then another employee walking by and asked if I was being helpful, I told him I was still trying to decide on my order!. Finally I made a decision, I ordered the 5 boneless chicken meal that came with seasoned fries, a slice of buttered toast and a drink. I also chose the sweet and spicy sauce to go on my boneless chicken! I must say the meal was good and the fries were as well, I must say the buttered slice of toast was a hit!. For a reasonable price of a $11.58, you can't beat that with a baseball bat!!!... I recommend and will return again to try something new on the menu... and if you are like me and have never tried Zaxbys for whatever reason, now is a good time to give it a try!!!.. I paid $12 for this "4" piece or even if this is just missing 3, paying $11 for this would be a rip off? I knew better but I came anyway because I hadn't been in a while and gotta stay the disappointment is real. Fries are well season chicken is juicy but breading is bland and lacking. This is at best a $6 meal, the things I could get at Chili's, Buffalo Wild Wings, or Applebees for this same price are night and day. Just avoid it. read more

Every time I get a Zalad, I am happy with it, especially the Blue Zalad - Delicious! Today I went through drive-thru and the young lady was very efficient, very pleasant, and my order came out fast and complete. I got back late from a gun range in North Carolina one weekday evening and a fellow sailor who was with me recommended we get food from Zaxby's. I've never even heard of it but he said it was good stuff. HAH. Never trusting his palate EVER again. This stuff was awful. Some of the worst chicken tenders I've ever had in the Hampton Roads area, and I've had a lot of different chicken tenders in the last four years. The fries were equally dreadful. The one lonely piece of toast in the box was quite soggy too, so that didn't help the experience. Never again. Much better options out there. read more

I paid $27 for a 4 piece chicken finger plate and fried house salad. The person at the window dropped my box on the floor! Told me they were remaking it and then proceeded to hand me a box less than 10 seconds later! How was this possibly remade?! How do I know the food wasn't dropped on the ground and rearranged in the box and given back to me?! An entree was left off our drive thru order. We didn't realize it until home. Grabbed the order list from the bag and drove back to get it. Understandable to occasional forget an item. it happens. The reason for the low review was because of the lack of service of the lady at the drive thru. I told her the situation. She asked if we had called them about this. I said no. She asked if I had the original receipt. I said no. I asked if a digital receipt would work. She said no. Frustrated with this, I just reordered the entree again. There was no, "I can help", no "I'm sorry for the error". I thought this would be a quick fix but ended up being a challenge. we ended up paying $24 dollars for a 5 finger meal. So I just came to zaxbys on Monday 2/19/2024. I order a 10 piece traditional wing for myself and some things for my family. I ate the 10 pieces wing and I notice isn't wasn't fresh but kept eating because it's zaxbys and I always come to this location, it's like 5 mins away from my home. I've never had trouble before so I just didn't think anything of it. That same night I felt so sick to my stomach, I throw up everything! Literally hours of throwing up nothing but chicken!! Was told we would have our food in about 3 minutes ended up being way longer than that and then we had to go inside and our food was just sitting out on the counter and no one brought to our car like they said they would. It was cold and undercooked. Got salmonella from it. I ended up missing the birthing of my first child because I was so sick. Also, there was sauce all over the bun of my burger. Food was sloppy. I had a very positive experience at this location and I'm anxious to go back and try the kickin' chicken sandwich. A bunch of folks from work bum rushed the place and all of us left happy and full. Military discounts aren't offered everyday but I encourage you to check w/them to see what day they offer as it may change. All the dining areas, drink stations and ladies room were well maintained. The cashiers put In a solid effort to get the orders taken, delivered and even cruised the dining room to offer mints, tidy up and generally ask customers if all was well. This is no time for employees not to be wearing masks! The ones that did have on a mask had the mask pulled down under their chin. Please do better! I like zaxbys food but not at the expense of me and my family's health. Taking into account that this is really just fast food bumped my rating up to 4 stars from three. All salads including Caesar have a certain amount of iceberg lettuce. I am a little more forgiving of Iceberg than my wife so she was not really happy with her mixed greens salad. In spite of the non-traditional greens in my Caesar Salad it was pretty good. Wished when they cut up the chicken breast that would have made the cuts all the way through. A stab o the fork always got more than a single piece. This location was clean as were the restrooms and the staff were polite but as expected pretty clueless to different questions about what was available that is not on the board menu. We would have liked to have a grilled chicken meal but did not see that option and the staff had no idea. I thought I'd give them a shot since I've heard mixed reviews. I pulled up, cashier was snappy and had the whole "is that it" after each item phrase. I ordered my food, get to the window pay, and go about my way. I get home and I open my food and I see this. What kind of kids meal did I order? 7$ for a handful of fries that look like more only because of the 3 pieces of celery propping them up. These "boneless" wings are the size of a quarter. ... where do I start? Let me just say I normally don't eat Zaxby's but each time that I have been to different Zaxby's locations I've had a good experience. Food is very consistent and always hot. With that being said, this particular location needs to work on CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am very simple when it comes to ordering food. I was with a friend, although he is a picky eater, his order was surprisingly simple. He only substituted ranch for the Zaxby's sauce. With both of us having experience in food service/customer service we understand that sometimes you get annoyed or you get very exhausted which causes you to be irritated, we are human. However, if someone is spending their money which contributes to keeping the business going to keep you employed, you should at least say "you're welcome" when the customer thanks you. The young lady that took our order was very rude. I'm not sure what she was or is going through and I hope that she gets past it, however, why should I receive the backlash from that? I am not a rude person especially to those preparing my food or providing any type of service to me. Not only was she very nasty to me while taking my order, she was even worse when I got to the drive thru window. Then to top it off, after she swiped our cards and handed us our food, I said thank you and she looked at me and said nothing. She was not frantically moving, she was not talking to anyone else, or providing any other indication that she was overwhelmingly busy. As average as it gets, but very pricey for fast food. The drive-thru is a lengthy wait,despite few cars. The place is indeed clean and I personally had a lovely interaction with the crew. As for food. I ordered spicy strips. They are basically 'breaded' chicken drenched in your choice of sauce. Dipping sauces are extra. 25 cents. What had me almost 2 star this was the poor quality in which I received the strips. They were so drenched, that they were soggy. A majority of the breading fell off, making the taste of them slightly below mediocre. Overall, it's wasn't terrible. Sooo I've been living in Norfolk my whole life. I kept hearing about this place called Zaxby's and how great their salads were. So I just brushed it off because I didn't believe my friend. See, she lives in Hampton(we don't have a Zaxby's in Norfolk). She used to go on her lunch break and make her way to Zaxby's every other workday. We just moved to Suffolk. We now have a location walking distance from our home, we decided to give this place a try. When I tell you I was in shock how delicious this simple meal was! I couldn't believe it, I too fell in love with this chicken tender habit my friend was telling me about. The food and staff were amazing and pleasant.
