Scott, the owner, was a huge reason why. He was very transparent about pricing and the timeline for our project. It took about four and a half months from getting our quote to getting our door installed, so it wasn't a fast timeline, but that's to be expected with just about anything these days. The two men who put the door in this morning were extremely friendly and courteous. They took extra care to ensure our space didn't get dirty, and they actually left the area cleaner than when they arrived. They also scoured the driveway to ensure no debris was left behind. I called Zen Windows Washington DC and was routed quickly to the owner, Scott. After asking for a quote to replace my French doors, from my description his advice was to repair it. He recommended that I call a handy man and have it repaired. He gave up the sale to do the right thing. It made my day. We got 8 windows replaced with the Zen Nirvana when I found some old chipping lead paint in the sills of some windows that were original to our ~1920s house. I did some research and found Zen to have pretty good reviews when compared to other mid-range options. Pricing was slightly higher than a few other quotes I got but in the end I felt most comfortable working with Scott- he was very responsive and eager to help without being super aggressive like some other sales people I talked to. Scott took the time to repeatedly respond to a host of emails, and at no point did he pressure a sale. After receiving other quotes, the quote provided by Zen Windows could not be matched. The installation was top-notch. Among other examples, the crew had to replace a narrow picture window on the third story, from the outside. Additionally, the crew spent extensive time ensuring a double-casement window was properly leveled, as the original casement window was not installed properly. Our previous windows did little to block noise or prevent air from entering/escaping. We opted for the double-pane laminated glass, which has made a tremendous difference. I had a wonderful purchasing experience with Zen Windows. A rental condo that I own was in need of new windows as the existing were 29 years old and in poor condition. Zen Windows had to help with several challenges including the condominium board approval (they were very particular about the trim color and wanting assurance the grid pattern of the new windows would match the existing), the condo also has a unique half round window that required some customization, and the unit is on the top floor which made the installation a little tricky. Then another gentlemen came to measure the windows again after that. The guys who did the replacement showed up on time, replaced 12 windows, and cleaned up any mess in under 6 hours.
