I highly recommend Zen Windows of Washington! Scott Halle, the owner of this particular franchise, should give seminars on how to deliver excellent Customer Service! He did not merely get the job done, he DELIGHTED us, his customer, at every step in the process. I have never received better customer service in my entire life for any other purchase I've made. Scott is simply the Best! Although Zen Windows emphasizes the fact that they can give you a quote "In 5 minutes," when I called I explained that there were some unique circumstances with several of my windows. Scott came out that day himself and measured each window and we talked through each of the oddball circumstances with some of my windows. Scott then gave me a quote that never changed and was never beaten both many other local companies. I did extensive research on windows and multiple local window companies and found that all of the companies offered very similar products. You can get, generally speaking, a very similar product from multiple companies and you end up comparing slight, negligible differences in SHGC or VT (e.g. .29 vs. .27, the difference of which in practice is virtually meaningless.) So, since the windows themselves are so very similar, you're left to choose based on price and customer service. Zen Windows really differentiated themselves on both fronts. Their prices were lower even though their windows came out on top in the standard quality metrics (U Factor, SHGC, VT, etc.) compared to the other companies. And, as mentioned before, Scott's customer service is really something you have to experience for yourself. He was always available to quickly respond to any question I had throughout the process. He came to our home and gave us a no-pressure demo of his windows and patiently answered all our many questions. As I narrowed down my selection of which company to purchase from Scott was always quick to answer any question via email or phone. It was Scott's customer service that really swayed me to choose Zen Windows. Once installation day came, Scott was there to check in on how the installation process was going and again patiently answered all of our questions. And I ask a lot of questions! The installers also did a great job, answered all my questions, and even helped me remove a blind or two that I was having trouble with - and gave me advice on how to easily reinstall the blinds once the windows were done. I waited a few months before writing this review because I wanted to see how the windows actually performed in practice. Well, my wife and I both love them. They look great both from the inside and outside of the house. It is like our house got a face lift. Scott matched the capping color perfectly with the rest of the house's trim and our 3 dormer windows look great. We also opted for the "BetterVue" screen mesh on the windows we actually look out of most often, and they look great and the view is really clear, like the screens aren't even there. Now that the weather is warming up (I write this in early Spring), it is a pleasure to be able to so easily open and close our new windows. The old, 29 year old windows were annoyingly difficult to open, so having new windows makes life just a little more convenient, too. We have electric heat and while there are other variables at play (i.e. how cold it was outside in a given month in a given year), my electric bills are down $200 for January and February and $150 for March as compared to the last 2 years' bills for the same month. In summary, I did extensive research on which window company to use - save yourself some time and just right to Zen Windows. Zen windows just replaced 57 windows in my 22-year old house and did a fantastic job. I did my research and had 4 different estimates. They were very competitive and used a solid product (ProVia Windows) , not to mention and lifetime warranty on windows and labor that is transferrable. Hopefully, I will never have to use the warranty. Here is why I recommend them: 1.Easy estimate/ quote and negotiations. David, the sales guy, was very responsive to my questions even at 9pm at night. He also arrived on time and came back to answer more questions. 2. Product (ProVia Endure Window) seems like a solid and good quality product. ProVia is known for their doors and recently moved into the windows around 2010. We go the Endure brand- great energy efficiency with u-factor .27 and solar heat gain coefficient at 0.19. 3. Payment due at the END of installation. No down payment needed. They accept payment plans. Took about 10 weeks for windows to arrive 4. The Measurement guy (I think his name is Michael), very professional and arrived on time-had to come twice as I added a last minute window. - I was told the last window would arrive late and that installation would occur at a different time, but they all arrived on time. 5. They had 2 Crews working and they were great. Because of all the demo, my house looked like a war zone. But they were very respectful and cleaned after themselves. It took 2.5 days. They took down all the window treatments/ blinds, tore down the existing windows, replaced them all. We had some dry rot on one window and they replaced it (charged me for materials and time). They DO NOT do any spackling or painting FYI. (If you know you have a problem with a leaking window, MAKE SURE you check the wood prior to having them put the new windows up. - That would be the only concern that I had. I missed looking at the window sill prior to them replacing them but they said the wood was not dry rotted like the other one. They said not to worry though b/c of the warranty. Personally, I don't want to have to deal with the warranty but that did give me some piece of mind.) They cleaned all the windows and checked each window and put the curtains/ blinds back that I wanted to keep I also had 2 screens that were damaged and one lock that was not working. They fixed the screens, and someone will come tomorrow to fix the lock (one week later) 6. Job walk through and instructions on how to use the windows were done with Luis (supervisor) and again with James the lead foreman. James also called every night to check on how things were going. I also liked that we discussed final payment before it was due. OVERALL, a solid company with a good product. Of note, soon after the job was done, we had temps in the 80-90s and did not need to turn on our AC until the 3rd day. the windows were able to keep the house insulated. Normally we would have had to put the AC on the first day it in the 80s. Happy so far! read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Zen Windows for the installation of my new front door in March 2025, and I cannot express enough how impressed I am with their customer service. From the initial installation to addressing concerns, Zen Windows has consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication. On Monday, I reached out to James Bond, the Production Manager of Zen Windows regarding an issue with the lack of power to my doorbell and camera. His prompt and thoughtful response was truly appreciated. James sent Josh and his team to my home on Wednesday evening to investigate the issue. Josh was incredibly professional, and he and his team went above and beyond to diagnose the problem. They rechecked the circuit box and transformer, removed siding and plywood to trace the wiring, and left no stone unturned to ensure the installation was not the source of the issue. Josh even made a trip to Home Depot to purchase a new chime and wiring, hoping to resolve the situation. Although the issue remains unresolved and appears to be unrelated to the door installation, I am confident--thanks to their diligence and expertise--that the new front door is not the cause of the power loss. Zen Windows demonstrated exceptional patience and professionalism throughout this process. Their commitment to customer service has not gone unnoticed. The absolute BEST! Do yourself a favor and give them a call. Their initial visit with you will be enough to prove to you that this is the company you want to work with for your door/window needs. Pros: - From their very first visit, they were actually willing to listen to what I wanted to get done and made the best recommendations based on my budget - It was a 0 pressure visit, they came in, we talked about wants/needs/use of windows & doors, they measured and they left. Scott made it very clear that he wasn't there to make us sit through a 45 minute spiel about how desperately we need news windows and doors but also gave us all of the time we needed. It was just the right balance. - Scott's turnaround time with the information and spec sheets was very fast - Once you commit to your new products, you don't pay until they actually install. It was nice not to have to worry about that. - Install day was quick, easy and very clean. The work done was meticulous and the installers were very respectful. We even got a courtesy visit from one of the PM's, just because. - Follow up was easy and concise. No extra fluff, just the info we needed to know. We are delighted with our 2 new outside doors and one storm door from Zen Windows. Just installed last week, they promise years of energy efficiency and a style that will draw glances from passerbys on the street. The entire process, from purchase to installation, took several months due to supply chain issues, but they were well worth the wait time. After a home visit from the owner, Scott Hale, we had plenty of choices to make online and Scott guided us through the process, clearly listening to what we wanted. Once the decision was made, someone came to take all the necessary measurements and we signed the "papers" online and without a glitch. We just finished having our replacement windows installed by Zen Windows! What a great experience. We had 5 windows replaced that were broken. Scott was really professional and easy to work with. This was followed by an easy online & phone intro followed by a home visit for measurements, color choice and estimate by Scott Halle, the owner. He explained the product lines and helped us choose the one that fit our needs. He then left our home and waited for us to contact him. There was NO pressure to sign or commit to anything ...just an estimate after our meeting which we accepted by e-mail a few weeks later. Installation of the windows was quick and minimally disruptive. The workmanship was phenomenal and the colors matched PERFECTLY. No painting whatsoever. Mr. Halle stopped by that day to insure that everything was done properly and that we were pleased. We were & we are! Purchase included a Limited Life Time Warranty that even covers that condensation that develops between the panes that drives me nuts. We loved working Scott and the team at Zen Windows. They were fast to respond and easy to work with. Getting an original quote was quick and easy and Scott made sure to send me some information on the types of windows they would install so I had all the information I needed and knew more about the quality of their products. We ended up waiting about a year between getting the quote and moving forward with installing our windows but as soon as I reached back out Scott was on it. He was upfront about some materials taking longer to arrive due to the pandemic and kept us updated every step of the way. His team also worked with our schedule to get the windows installed as soon as they could. They went in yesterday and we couldn't be more thrilled with the end result. My experience with Scott and Zen Windows was excellent. He is professional, polite, and knowledgeable. He made my life easy by quoting me a price without a long presentation. Their website is very helpful, and so are their brochures. The website and brochures helped me understand what features I wanted/needed in my windows, and Scott answered the questions I had. Not all customers choose to see the window in person before installation, but I wanted to see it. So Scott came to my home and showed me the window and how it worked. First, Zen Windows did an excellent job installing nearly two dozen windows in our home. First, though, Zen Window's approach to selling their product is different from other window companies. Zen Windows did not require four or more hours of our time selling their product. The take a straight forward and simple approach. The product we bought is superb and within a good price point. High quality and well insulated. In fact, the day the windows were installed, was at the height of the cicada season. Cicadas make quite a racket outside and the sound is loud to be easily heard inside our house. When the installation was complete, we could barely hear the cicadas outside our home with the new windows. Such peace and quiet. We could barely hear our neighbors mowing their lawn, too. I reached out to Scott about a year ago to get a estimate to replace all the windows in my house. He respond back very quickly but do to other things going on at the time we had to hold off on the windows project. Fast forward to Fall 2022 I reached out to Scott again to get a fresh estimate. Once again he responded very quickly. We closed the deal and he placed the order and was very clear that it may be a few weeks. I received a call from Scott when the windows were ready and we set a date for installation. On the installation day his crew was there about 0830am. They laid down protective covering to protect the floors and went work. Around 3:00 they were done with the installation of all the windows, cleaned up the old windows, and did a walk thru to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Scott runs a top notch customer service oriented company. I am already speaking with Scott regarding a sliding glass door replacement. We just had 38 windows replaced in our home in Rockville. I was quite impressed by the competitive pricing they gave us (not the absolute least expensive, yet less than most of the name-brand installers. Their salesman, David Paul, was quite knowledgable and helped me select the right options for my price range and quality expectations. Then the install team was also impressive as they started and finished the job in just 2 full days. Most teams said they couldn't do it for less than a week. The first day they removed all 38 windows, installed new ones and caulked and finished the interior of the windows throughout the home. The second day they did all the caulking, vinyl wrapping and finishing for all the windows on the second full day. They look great and did a quality job all around. I would highly recommend them. What a pleasant surprise! David Paul came to give an estimate on replacing our Pella bay window, which had some minor water damage. He asked a number of questions, including about the source of the water, which was from the gutter overflowing. "This should not be happening," he said, and he explained that he had many years experience in roofing. Our gutters are large, 6 inches, but he determined the outlet holes where the gutter connects to the drainpipes were too small. He suggested I enlarge the openings, which should stop the gutter overflowing. He also recommended I do some recaulking around the window itself, and he gave me the name of a particular caulk that was best for the job. He then went on to say that, while Zen could install a new window, and it would be very nice, a replacement was probably not needed at this point. What refreshing honesty and helpfulness. They were clear and timely with communication, and everyone was exceptionally friendly and helpful. My window replacement went very well. Scott Halle, the owner, was very professional and accommodating. He took his time and walked me through the process. The crew that installed the windows were on time and proficient. They were careful not to disturb anything and laid plastic so as not to get any dust or dirt other than in the area they were working in. They were pleasant and professional. When they finished installing the windows they removed any debri and vaccuumed to make sure there was no residue. While they were installing the windows a supervisor stopped by to make sure the project was moving along and that I was satisfied. From start to finish, working with Zen Windows was a pleasant and easy process. I contacted Zen and one other window company based on favorable feedback from my neighborhood elist. A Zen representative contacted me immediately and came to my house to discuss their services and show me a sample of their product. The representative from the other company was nice, but did not have samples and a payment of 50% was required to place an order. Zen did not require a down payment - payment was due only after the installation. My windows arrived in less about half of the estimated order time and the 2 installers were very polite and professional. In most of the communications, I dealt with the owner, Scott Halle, who came to inspect the work and make sure I was happy with the windows right after the installation. Zen Windows was chosen to replace 23-25 windows when we needed the original ones replaced after noticing they were operating as well as a sieve in a thunderstorm. Prices were fair and Scott was EXTREMELY patient and responsive when it came to answering all of my questions regarding the installation process and materials used for insulating the windows during the bidding process. The installation crew was super efficient, clean, and thorough. They replaced all of the windows in 7 hours and cleaned up thoroughly after finishing their job. Scott, the site foreman, and project managers routinely checked in with us during the day of the installation to ensure everything was meeting our expectations.
