Definitely not a payroll company. They give you LESS THAN ONE DAY (by 2:00p.m.) to review payroll and if you don't make the deadline, everything gets pushed a day. They take your money immediately though- so even if payroll is a day late, they take the money right on time. They must earn a ton of interest on everyone's money. It's very fragmented with every module owned by someone else . I didn't even get what I paid for until about 6 weeks into my contract. ADP and Paychex is such a better choice, but I'm stuck in my contract now. read more

This is a HORRIBLE company. Stay away at ALL costs. We have been using them for 5 years and they are just getting worse by the year. You cant get anyone in customer service. You cant pay your monthly subscription because their system fails. You get a letter from collections because you couldnt pay your bill. RUN to another company as fast as you can. read more

Implementation was a mess. Customer support is terrible. You have longs waits for a quick question in their 'chat' box and there is a good chance the information you get is wrong. Open enrollment has been a mess. Prior to kicking off open enrollment, someone from Zenefits sent an email to our entire team inviting them to enroll. The enrollment links didn't work, employees had no idea what was happening. Two days later another email went out. And when our broker asked to talk to someone about what had gone wrong, there was apparently no one to talk to. You can't talk to a live person because that isn't their business model. The worst nonhelpful expensive platform and even worse service. After signing up and logging in the platform, you realize that you are left to do absolutely everything on your own. No support! The so-called helpful items to create your documents are much to be desired and will ultimately cost you more time than it's worth. Marketing to help small businesses, this company is by far small business friendly. Small businesses and non-profits must operate and manage their budgets differently to stay operational. Zenefits cares not about this and in fact, seems to penalize you for doing so by locking you in an unfavorable and unfriendly annual subscription. This company has THE WORST customer service that I have EVER experienced in my life! The sales guy was very engaging in the beginning but after we paid for the year subscription up front the only assistance we could get was an email response referring us to a "help topic". That was a pattern that kept repeating itself since they refused to refund our money and we kept trying to make it work. Most recently I sent an email asking for assistance and not kidding here, IT TOOK TWO WEEKS TO GET AN EMAIL RESPONSE REFERRING ME TO A HELP TOPIC!!! They apologized saying it is their busy season will be filing a complaint with the BBB and telling anyone that asks to AVOID this company at all costs! Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. On-line chat and FAQ did not help, called customer service #, waited for 45 minutes, I was given the option to press one to leave a message - pressed one and was unable to leave a message. Called back, another hour of listening to their 20-second music loop, finally reached a support staff and she said she couldn't help me and gave me a different number to call. Called that number - only a 5-minute wait but he took 15 minutes to research my simple request "to be removed from an FSA account I did not sign up for"($1500) and in fact, am ineligible for. He transferred me to AI support which asked for an account ID, which I gave, and then requested a 4 digit verification number which they never sent. And the final nail on the coffee - if I didn't receive the 4 digit verification they asked me to click on the Help button on the web page after I sign in - I did and was immediately disconnected. I was polite and friendly, patient. 3.5 hours and back to square one. read more

BUYER BEWARE! I never write bad reviews HOWEVER this company is definetly a bait and switch. You sign up for an annual membership and subscriptions for HR services. The NO CANCELLATION policy is nerver disclosed UNLESS you look for it. They also bind yu in an agreement. Horrible customer service. We have been trying to get out of this from the time we signed on. No call backs ONLY emails until 30 days later and after the bogus subscription is in effect. We are actively fighting to get our $840 dollars back as we have not used the service at all and they make it extremely difficult as they stck to their hidden agreement. They have threatened to put us in collections over the $12 subscription cost! this is NOT ok for small businesses to be taken advantage of...we will continue to fight this to hopefully help avoid another small business from going thru this. read more
