The Intruder house signature drink, Strawberry Matcha and pastries.

I am officially a new Interlude regular I highly recommend this shop to everyone. The coffee is great and the pastries are also a hit. I recommend trying the Honey Piloncillo Shaken Latte or the Interlude house specialty drink, my daughter recommends the Strawberry Matcha. The staff and atmosphere is very inviting and friendly. The owner was very polite and dare I say easy on the eyes. The Interlude is a great addition to Uptown!!

Great service, Great Coffee, Cool atmosphere! 2nd time coming in and both times we had great service and great coffee. Order: We ordered Honey Piloncillo shaken latte. It's the right amount of sweet and coffee balance. This is my go to order, I get 1/2 the sweetness. Their house cold brew is one of our new favorites. Stong foral flavor with a smooth finish. Very easy to drink black. Their banana bread is delicious! Try it, it's worth it. Service: Quick and friendly. Weekends, we coffee shop hop, and so far Interlude is easy to be in and out. Even when there was a line out the door everyone got their coffee fairly quick. They have several baristas on staff and they are all helpful and friendly. Both times we went the owner helped us out and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back

Stopped by Interlude Coffee and ordered the cortado--excellent choice. It was smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced with a great espresso flavor and just the right amount of steamed milk. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere made it a great place to relax. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!

The coffee is good, but I didn't like how slow the service was. I was waiting in line a long time (15 mins) and than standing at the cash register they had me waiting even more. They also told me part of what I was ordering wasn't ready and so I might have to wait longer! I think for it being so early, it doesn't make sense to be out or not have someone just dedicated to making the foam on the signature drink. Also, I think for a small my total was $9! At that price I expect my drink much quicker!! I understand they are new but I'm not motivated to return, I'll have to give them another try in a few months

Great, new coffee shop I'll be visiting now! Had amazing coffee and service was quick. Very clean and modern inside. Nice addition to uptown and love that they are open early. Other coffee shops in the area don't open as early. Congrats to the owners!

Newly opened coffee shop in Uptown Whittier. Came on a Saturday around noon. Place was busy as everyone seemed to want to try it out. Line went quickly and plenty of places to sit. Younger guy at the cashier was very helpful and friendly. Place was very nicely decorated and welcoming. It is dog friendly and there was a couple of tables outside to sit and enjoy with your pup. I ordered their specialty "The Interlude" which was an iced 12oz latte. Had a very nice coffee forward flavor with a cream topper that was not too sweet. It is only available in the 12oz size and did seem a bit pricey at $8.50. They had pastries available which I skipped as they were also pricy at $6-8 each , appears be from an outside bakery. Given the prices would not likely be a place i stop by regularly to grab a coffee to go but would be a great place to meet friends or have a coffee date.

Me with my go-to black drip coffee and my friend with her lavender iced matcha from Interlude.

Interlude is a high end coffee shop located in Uptown Whittier. The owner, Sam, put a ton of care into renovating this spot (previously Lift) and it shows. He cares a lot about this town and his community. The coffee is high quality and I encourage anyone to try the drip first! The fancy lattes are great too, but nothing beats pure roasted bean juice imo.

First week being open! With a full house the vibes were still very mellow. Lots of people working/studying or having quiet conversations. Plenty of tables and additional seating at the bar. Drinks I ordered: (From Left to Right) Cortado, Berries & Cream Matcha and The Interlude. The menu shows their house espresso has notes of chocolate and you can definitely pick up on that in their drinks. *Do note that their menu does have a typo and The Berries & Cream Matcha is not strawberry but it's actually Blueberry!* Cortado & Matcha were good. The interlude unfortunately was just alright. The warm baking spice was nice but I felt everything else lacked. There also wasn't really any sweetness to it and I don't think the cream top really added anything. I'll give this drink another shot at a later date. I'll still be going back to try their other specialty drinks in hopes that maybe the flavors land a little bit better.

My 3 drinks after I finished.

Excellent coffee here. Sam the owner let us come in to try the goods. Luis executed the best coffee options. I had 2 of their specialty drinks, 1 iced latte that had cinnamon and other warming spices, 1 hot latte that was made with a house made orange syrup that was incredible and a plain latte that will compete against the very best. This place went from a regular coffee shop to a top notch coffee contender. The renovations are an upgrade for sure. Clean and contemporary. This is the new coffee shop for us in uptown. Good luck guys, Godspeed.

LFTD recently made an announcement that they are being evicted by their landlord and will close…read moredown this brick-and-mortar location by the end of this year (December 29th, 2025). A week before the announcement was made, I came here to try their famous blue tortilla breakfast burrito. [Parking]: There's a free public parking structure located one block away from the coffee shop (6738 Comstock Ave, Whittier, CA 90601). [Atmosphere]: Super crowded on Sunday & I was not able to find a place to sit. I ultimately ordered my breakfast burrito to-go. They also have a section of cafe that sell vintage clothing. [Menu]: For the signature breakfast burrito, they actually have 6 options - classic breakfast burritos (bacon - $16.50), Prime Steak (grass-fed prime steak $20.50), the Ultimate Burrito (grass-fed prime steak + avocado + bacon), Chilaquiles ($15.50), Chorizo ($16.00), and Vegan ($16.00). They also sell their cold brew cafe de olla in giant plastic bags that look like IV drip bags at the refrigerated section. [Ordering]: Customers can order at the cashier counter or order via kiosk (they use Toast). I reviewed their breakfast burrito options at 12 PM and they ran out of classic breakfast burrito. I ended up with prime steak breakfast burrito instead. Unfortunately I waited 45 minutes before they had my order ready and I could tell other customers were not too patient with their orders as they kept walking up to the pick-up counter & checked the ordering status. *** Prime Steak Breakfast Burrito (grass fed prime steak, scrambled egg, Monterey Jack cheese, crema, pico de gallo, tri-colored peppers, hash browns - $20.50): Unlike other breakfast burrito I have had at other places, this breakfast burrito had blue tortilla. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but chewy steak + crispy hash browns + roasted peppers + red salsa = one delicious and s-tier tasting breakfast burrito. *** While LFTD serves one of the best 5-star worthy breakfast burritos I have ever had in LA + Orange County, I have to take off a star due to extremely long wait time on food order. Please do yourself a favor and place an online order at least 30 minutes ahead of time if you want to try their breakfast burritos ( https://www.toasttab.com/local/order/lift-6701-greenleaf-ave ).

The baristas all look like they are having a good time, and it reflects it in the coffee and food. The strawberry matcha is a solid choice, as is the classic breakfast burrito; the tortilla is made with blue corn.

I mentioned a peanut allergy and he thoughtfully grabbed all of the ingredients from the back fridge rather than using the ones at the counter to help avoid any possible cross-contamination.
