I attended the third Thursday in Dundee and this was a featured location. It's in an older home but the inside is cute/cozy and the staff were very welcoming. They have seating indoors and the outdoor seating looks great for those sunny days. They also have merchandise to be purchased which is great if you're traveling and want to take home a souvenir! This wasn't our actual intended destination. It just so happens that we were talking about how cool it would be to go there on our next trip out to wine country as we were heading to Sokol Blosser. Turns out that you need a reservation to taste at Sokol Blosser. We were like, no problem, we were both feeling the love for checking out Zerba, so off we went! We got there and there was one couple seated outside and two couples inside that were finishing up. This was great because that way we had the very charming Terry all to ourselves. After the ladies outside left he sat down and chatted with us about the wines. There was one white, a rosé, and the rest were a fascinating mixture of big reds. I'm kicking myself for not taking a photo of the flight menu. My favorite was a merlot, which was unlike any merlot I'd had before, which is probably why I liked it so much. The sweet Wild Rose is divine! There was a tasting at a private event of a few of the wines - Sweet Rose, Wild Z Red Blend, and Petite Verdot. The gentlemen pouring the wine was so nice that he generously gave me double pours during the tasting. The Sweet Rose hit the spot and perfect way to cool off in the blistering summer heat. I bought 2 bottles, $15 a bottle was a steal! I drank a bottle that evening with the help of friends and the other bottle I brought back home to VA. Can't wait to open it up! read more

We stopped here on our way to Argyle (had tasting appt) and wished we could have spent more time here. This is a nice small, annex, tasting room. Though on a busy road, it is quaint and they do a good job secluding the back area for tastings. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating. We did a very quick tasting. Enjoyed the Syrah very much and purchased a bottle. There were quite a few people here with a lively atmosphere. read more

I wanted to stop by here, as I had a friend who loved this place. I had loved their Cashmere wine, but it is no longer. So I was curious as to see what they were offering. What cool little place. Cute outdoor deck area. With lots of comfy chairs. Staff was super nice and took good care of us. Picked up a bottle of wine on the way out. So the wine was good enough to take home so that's a positive. And wine prices are very acceptable. The outdoor area could use a little more added to spruce it up a bit. And the wine barrel furniture was beautiful but expensive. read more

Our party of four stopped at Zerba (NOT ZEBRA) on our way to Spirit. Dan meet us inside and we enjoyed a flight of 6 tastings (I technically had 8 but I'll save that for another review) for $5. What a deal! I love the laid back atmosphere and Dan's awesome service. As soon as a tasting was finished, he would come across the room to start on our next tasting. Every tasting we had was delicious; Wild White, Sermillion, Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. We left bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon & Wild Z. We were welcomed to bring in our own cheese and crackers although crackers were available. Dan made us feel right at home. Thanks Dan for the hospitality, we'll definitely be back read more

I am sincerely surprised that there are only 3 reviews. I think that this is the best place in Dundee! But don't take it from me- -ask my liver and my purple teeth! I think that on one's tour of Dundee wineries, this one may get overlooked because it's a mere tasting room. It lacks the appeal of some of the others that sit atop a hill with spectacular views. It doesn't have food or a patio. But what it lacks in those things, it more than makes up for in its unbelievably friendly, passionate, knowledgeable staff and magical wines. I mean, if you want to sit on a hill and pay $25 of non-refundable tasting fees to have some ass-hat apathetically pour you mediocre wines and deliver an uninspired elevator speech about what you're trying.....I won't tell you how to live your life. The last time I was at Zerba, the tasting fee was $5 to try something like 6 wines- -and they waived all of it if you purchased one bottle or joined their wine club. I did both. Their Sangiovese Rose is among my favorite roses EVER, and their Cab is big and buttery. The Wild Z is one of their best sellers, and it's a great go-to blend bottle. Their younger sister vineyard, Bowlus Hills is AMAZING, especially given the price point. Their wines range from $18-$30, but of course there are some special varietals and vintages that are more expensive. If you join their wine club, you get 20% off and free tasting- -and they throw a freakin' "pick up party" with music and food 3 times a year and you get to hang out with all of the other wine club members. "A PINOT FREE ZONE" We thought that was pretty funny. I love Pinots but we were driving through Dundee and decided to stop. Only $5 to taste some great wines from the Walla Walla, WA region. The tasting room was simple and the folks in the tasting room we welcoming and excited for us to be visiting. We tasted some great wines and walked away with a few good bottles. Zerba was recommended as "the place with the big reds." Well, hubs likes to practically chew through cabernets, so we were in from the get-go! Inside, Zerba is a small but cozy tasting room right off the road. There's a smattering of stools, chairs and couches amongst the bottles of wine. And the folks who work here are delighted to pour your tastings - just $5 for a series of four. Yes, there are plenty of zebra references here, too. Zerba, zebra, you get it. The staff likens each wine to a certain type of dish it would pair well with. And they get super descriptive, i.e. Thanksgiving dinner - extra cranberry sauce, rosemary pork loin with garlic. It made me super hungry and intrigued! The cab really stood out for me - super complex but very drinkable. Don't expect any pinots, though, this is pinot free in Dundee! read more

Okay, I know this place has wonderful reviews, has won plenty of awards, and I am NO sommelier, However, I can usually find wines I enjoy or at least find palatable at most places I visit. Not the case here. Literally did not want to finish most tastings. I generally enjoy robust reds, either jammy, or spicy, did not leave with a bottle (or multiple) in hand. read more

Excellent wines, the reason for the one star is the following. I (was) a wine club member and one weekend while I was out of the state on vacation. After returning, I noticed a charge on my card and after contacting the winery discovered that the zerba staff had sold somebody a case of wine to my account. When I called to ask what the charge was about, the owner Marilyn Zerba told me that they did not make a mistake and that it must have been one of my kids that charged the case of wine to the account. What a humiliating thing to say to a wine club member. She refused to take any responsibility for the fact that her staff made a mistake or stole a case of wine by charging out account. You credit card information is not safe at this winery. Beware. read more

Tired of drinking Pinot all day? All the reason come into Zerba Cellars on your way back to Portland. We tasted a Sangio Rose', Syrah, Cab, and red and white blends, it's a nice taste of Walla Walla and something different than the usual in Dundee. They had a nice assortment of candied nuts, asiago cheese, and crackers. Only a $5 tasting fee, we bought a few bottles and that was comped as expected. My husband and I stopped by the Zerba tasting room for our anniversary wine tasting celebration. It was a very welcoming atmosphere and laid back. The two servers were knowledgeable with all their wines and willing to answer all our questions. It was busy when we went, but there were plenty of places to sit down and we didn't have to wait very long for any of our pours. Easy place to find, great wines, and good company. I like the wines sold by Zerba and was not disappointed. The tastes were adequate. The tasting fee the lowest we saw that day and it was waived with purchase. My only disappointment was that I had hoped some of the varietals not on the list might be open. Apparently not so I purchased only one of those not available for tasting. I like this place a lot. It's not one bit pretentious, the tasting fee isn't actually a rip off which is great, and their bottles for purchase are priced very reasonably. It's hard to argue one should go to Ponzi when this little hole in the wall (I say that affectionately) is just down the street. Pinot-free in Dundee! That's all you need to know! Great big wonderful Walla-Walla reds served by a great staff at a very reasonable tasting fee. Only $5 for 4-5 wines. No view, no food............just great wines! There's a reason this winery was chosen 2011 Northwest Winery of the Year and their wines prove it. Very approachable now or lay them down for an even better wine experience somewhere down the road. Dan, Vickie, and Jeanette are awesome. I think they're open 7 days a week.
