This bakery is great! All the items I have tried so far are delicious and at good price. My husband, baby son and I came here to pick up some cannolis. We came in and were overwhelmed with so many delectable goodies. We knew we wouldn't just buy cannolis so we let the two people in front of us go first. Good thing, we got a tip that donuts are $5 for a dozen if you come in at 5pm or later. It was exactly 5pm!! Of course we got a dozen donuts, day old chocolate pound cake, 2 cannolis and a vegetable pizza bread. Only $13 and some change for all that!! We actually came back after devouring the pizza bread outside and got one more. My husband and I love cannolis. Carrot cake: I really wanted a delicious carrot cake for my birthday and after quickly searching Yelp and reading reviews, I had my husband pick up a carrot cake from Zerilli's. I don't like giving bad reviews, but after spending over $36 for this cake, this is NOT a carrot but a spice cake! There were no visible carrots, walnuts, or raisins in the cake batter that I, my husband, or kids could taste. The frosting was NOT a cream cheese frosting but a sugary way too sweet frosting that we all scraped off. The only walnuts were a dusting on the side and the only carrots were frosting carrots on top. Also, the cake was dry. This is the only cake I've tried from this bakery. read more

First time I came here everything was great. But the second time I bought a pineapple upside down cake and a piece of the german chocolate cake. They were both dried out. They must've been old. I was very disappointed. Not sure if I will go back after this experience. No one likes dried out cake and paying for that. Maybe I should've called and complained but I didn't. Thee BEST AND ONLY bakery I will EVER go to. I have about 8 other people who now call this place there go too bakery... Just from trying my birthday cake. And then my husband's cake. Then my Mom's and I just ordered 2!!! On April 19th. One was a special order funfetti with sprinkles on the side and whipped frosting. The other was a pre made strawberry filled yellow cake with whipped cream frosting.....TO DIE FOR!!!! What ever you want they will make it happen.... My hubby got the Cassata cake. Four and a half, because the bumpy cupcake collapsed. The buttercream on it tastes like sugary butter and was so whipped that there was only 1/4 inch when we spread it back onto our cupcake. That was honestly a waste and a HUGE disappointment. Or a TINY one?... Anyway! The cream puff and buttercream donuts still have firm, intact cream fillings. So far we have given my 15mo a chocolate cake donut (his first donut) without the frosting, and it's firm and crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Perfect. It looked swirly, dark and light brown, and sort of tasted cinnamony. But maybe that was from the apple pie donut? Not too sweet but really nice. The apple pie donut...East Detroit bakery had gross apple filling. Sticky, fake-tasting filling. Like from a cold McDonald's apple pie? This has a thick apple butter/homemade applesauce textured filling and tastes like actual apple pie with the cinnamon sugar. I HATE apple-filled donuts and most apple pies. This was pretty great (I had to taste each just to know what I was getting). The croissant donuts were far better than THOSE cronuts at Donut Pub in NYC...and even rival the bacon-studded ones in Oakland, CA. They've got a great loft and aren't permanently smooshed when you smoosh them with each bite. The coffee dunker is thickly crusted with a great crumb. It's just a little buttermilky and seriously dense. The glaze isn't sliding off. What's still uneaten? Cannoli & buttercream long johns (I guess the cannoli cream is studded with chocolate chips...just looked. Ask if you don't want chocolate chips in case I'm just seeing things)...cinnamon bun...cannoli paczki...two sour cream donuts...a coffee dunker. Sooooo what's left? The key lime tart and the giant cream puff. I only ever bought a great variety of baked goods all at once one other time, at East Detroit bakery. Which is the pits. I cannot recommend that place. Everything there but the strawberry shortcake (cheesecake?) was meh. This place so far merits 4.5 stars. We will be snubbing Mt. Clemens Bakery for this one; I was seriously injured on the ice in their parking lot this morning carrying my son. Their sign saying they're closed for 3 months is in the window facing the parking lot; someone was PARKED in their lot; and there's only a thin yellow string barrier to their parking lot in the back. We've been on the search for a new donut shop since we moved to Michigan last year...we had high hopes for Zerilli's! The highlight of our visit was the extremely friendly and helpful employees - everyone was SO nice and kind. Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience with our donuts. Our blueberry donuts had the strangest taste to them...kind of like corn! I know that sounds crazy...but maybe it was bad oil they had been fried in?? It made me so sad because they were SO fluffy and had the most tender texture, so I wanted to keep eating them! My husband did get an apple fritter that he loved, and we also tried a raspberry filled donut that was okay. We will be back to try them a different day and hopefully have better results! read more

Best bakery in Macomb County. I stand behind that statement. If you are looking for a delicious dessert, donut, or just fresh bread, you should definitely make your way to this bakery. It is in a strip mall But it really should be on its own because it definitely stands alone. They have amazing cakes that I have used for many different types of celebrations, and also have had custom made with friends and family raving about the quality. They have cronuts. If you don't know what a cronut is it's a croissant donut. You may have heard of these at some other places, but the ones at this bakery are what my coworker likes to call small car tires. Lol. They are huge fluffy flaky sweet and delicious.If that's not your deal, but you are a donut person or know someone who is, then you do have to stop in period they have any and every flavor you can think of. Plus if you are a filled donut person.. then you have to stop here. They have very unique filling flavors like canoli. That's right canoli. What did you say, i said canoli. They also do a packzi that has canoli filling when it's that time of year and there is also (now hold your hats on) a peanut butter packzi and a peanut butter canoli packzi if you request it. Now I'm not a packzi person but everybody in my office begs me to get them because once you try it you can never go back. Another one of my favorites here are the traditional Italian cookies. When I was little my dad used to take me to this Italian bakery down in Detroit where he grew up, and that was 1 of my very 1st sweet tooth memories. When I tried the same cookies here, I was brought back to that moment of having sprinkles and chocolate on my face as a kid and wanting more. You can tell that tradition and family run deep in this establishment, which shows in their work. Last but not least the bread. They have delicious loaves of bread which they will slice for you here. If you like a marble rye or just a big loaf of fresh bread then you have come to the right place. If you're lucky enough to come in on a Saturday morning, you might also be treated to pizza sticks. They have these breadsticks they fill with cheese in pepperoni that you can take home heat up and eat, or just chow down on in your car on the way home. They also have regular breadsticks too which go fast. But fear not if you come in for them and they are not available, you can ask if they can make some more (min requirement) or call ahead if you want some for a party or just to keep in your fridge for a snack. We got 12 dozen donuts for my daughter's first birthday.. they were AMAZING. I feel bad that there was a little miscommunication between me and the girl who took my order, because they thought I needed them by 7am, when I thought I said 8am, so the whole team there busted their butts to get them done earlier than necessary. It's a great little bakery. Turnovers, dessert breads, coffee cakes, Italian cookies by the pound, or round cookies sold for a quarter each, a variety of 2-bite desserts, and danishes is what I can remember off the top of my head. They have beautiful ready made cakes and I'm certain you can have ones custom made to your liking if you don't see something you like. They sell pizza dough in the cooler for $1.50 each. They have bags of fresh made crispy breadsticks and garlic rolls, along with pepperoni rolls and fresh soft bread stick that all looked amazing. Tons of different breads. They accept plastic but only on purchases over $5. To save the best for last, the DONUTS! They are picture perfect. Beautiful. $.80 each, $4.50 for 6 or $7.99 for a dozen. Get the Donuts. I've been passing this bakery by for years going to and from several other stores in the same strip mall and nearby . Well, not anymore! I've just had some of the best, freshest donuts ever, and the prices are great, too. We had the cinnamon rolls and custard-filled long johns with chocolate glaze. We requested the cinnamon rolls with caramel icing (this is the way we had them growing up). They were happy to accommodate our request. What other bakery would even do this? Certainly not a chain bakery. I can't wait to try their other types of donuts, cakes, cannoli, on-and-on, etc., etc.... And, did I mention how great the prices are and how friendly the staff is. I also purchase doughnuts from here to take to my husband's office. I hope this review make sense, as I'm still bleary-eyed from weeping tears of delight and joy over my experience at this place and then again at home during my actual consumption of these donuts. My two young daughters and I discovered this place this morning and went in to buy some donuts for our entire family, six of us in all, as a Saturday morning treat. We walked in to find not only a beautiful and clean little bakery, but ladies working at the counter who were just about as friendly as you could ever imagine. There were a couple of donuts that my kids had requested that they didn't have and the ladies offered, without me asking, to go back and make them! I ended up bringing home 13 donuts, plus one "croissant donut" and our family of six attacked them like a pack of piranhas. We ended up with a total of about 3/4 of a donut left after our 15 minute eating extravaganza. We were cutting donuts in halves in quarters so that we could all try the different kinds! The croissant donut was indescribable... it melted in your mouth - it was amazing! The cinnamon rolls were good the cherry fritter was incredible and the cream filled long john was what I would imagine they give to you when you arrive in Heaven. Everything is old and expensive. Ordered a birthday cake with buttercream and got cool whip for a $40 medium size cake. When I complained that no one could eat this cake Rose told me that I should have specified Buttercream calling me a liar. I could have bought a dollar cool whip Tub and did a better job.
