You can believe all the good reviews. This is one of the BEST haircuts I have ever had. Faraz is the owner and he knows what he is doing. He is very nice, the salon is cute and clean, and the prices are great. I am just sorry I did not find this place years ago! Wasted time and money on the so called "high-end" fancy places that were pretty on the inside, but the stylists had no talent and you are charged a fortune for a bunch of nothing. Just moved to Austin and chose this place because of reviews. Big mistake. Ask for partial highlights and the guy damaged my hair . Bleach was on too long and didn't get the warm tones I wanted . He did say he would fix it but once you mess up why would you let anyone try again. I paid the$ 85 I hate confrontation and said to myself it's just hair. I've been coming here for a while already and I'm so happy with my hair, the experience at this place, but specially with Faraz! My hair is stronger, healthier, and longer ever since I've been a regular. I won't go anywhere else to get anything done in my hair but here. I love that is a local business and Faraz is the owner, he knows what I like and how I want my hair to look like. He takes his time, gives me great advise about looks and is very passionate about his work. He's done an amazing job with the haircut itself, but also with color. I like to have a specific blend of highlights to create a layering color and he can work with this so well. Also, he doesn't bleach the hair for the highlights I only like him to use the color and he knows which ones adheres to my base color well. I had not had a haircut in over 2 years and I had not colored my hair in a long time. The gray was beginning to blend in with my dark brown hair and that was bad. I moved from Las Vegas to Austin Texas but my apartment was delayed for one month. My hair was already overgrown with gray but I did not want to dye my hair in the hotel room. So, once I got to my apartment, I looked up Salons near me and chose Ziba and made an appointment for the next day. Good choice. I was greeted by Faraz , the owner, who did my color and cut. I decided to cut 4"off to get rid of all that dead hair and got rid of all that gray. Thank goodness. Goodbye scarves. He parted my hair on the opposite side that I had it on and it made a difference. I walked out feeling renewed and refreshed. I will return as I am tired of dying my hair by myself. Excellent salon, very skillful and efficient stylist. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. Update: after the first appointment or two, the quality of the service and what he did with my hair and with my daughters' hair went way, way down. He became very hurried and sloppy and it was just not acceptable. I will never go back there again and neither will my daughter. read more

I go to Sahara all the time for my straightening. I have hair that is very processed, multi color and bleached. But I also have a lot of hair and it's super frizzy kinky. Sahara always does a great job getting my hair smooth and not fried. read more

Called ahead to check how much eye broke threading was because it was on my way home. The lady did an amazing job and was quick. She asked to make sure it was what I wanted instead of others I've had that just tell you, "ok, I'm done" and dont give you a chance to voice your opinion. I then asked how much their hair cuts were and decided I mine as well get a trim while I was there because it was so cheap. I asked for 2 inches taken off and the gentleman did the fastest haircut I have ever gotten. Got me fixed up in literally 15 minutes and did an amazing job. Ladies beware! This guy butchered my hair!! I brought a picture of what I wanted which gh was a long bob and he screwed my hair up badly. Enough where I said not to touch it anymore and left in tears. I had to go to another salon today to get it fixed and even she said it was one of the worst cuts she'd ever seen. My long bob had to be turned into a short bob just to fix all his mistakes. It was crazy uneven all over my head and suffice he faced me away from the mirror, I couldn't see that he took off about 6 more inches than asked for. I have no clue how this guy has such good reviews when he obviously knows nothing about cutting a woman's hair. read more

Not a bad place. Price turned out higher than expected. What really turned me off was how hesitant the hairstylist was to give me what I was asking for (an extreme a-line). I had to keep coaching her to go shorter in the back. In the end she still didn't go short enough. I gave it a few days to make sure I didn't just need to learn how to style it. But after encouragement from other hairstylist friends I called them back asking for them to correct it--but they never returned my calls. read more

I would rather move or quit my job than leave a good hair stylist. Faraz, the owner of Ziba, has been cutting my hair (and several of my friends' hair also) for several years. I don't live anywhere near the salon any more, but I still make the drive to see Faraz. I don't have great hair; he just makes it look great, and I get compliments from people on the cut he gives me all the time. We've tried a few different styles. he is really good at listening to what his clients need from a haircut. The salon is full service, he's great with kids, he takes walk-ins, he's affordable, and I've seen him create some great up-dos and work wonders with color.
