My sister and I tried this spot since it was close by to an event we were going to, and we were pleasantly surprised! We split the cornbread, and the both of us ordered the gnocchi. When we received our food, we nearly gasped at the size of the cornbread because we weren't fully expecting a generous amount. The cornbread was perfectly cooked and was so delicious. We didn't taste any honey though (it tasted like salted butter), which was a shame since we love honey butter, but it still paired well with the cornbread. The gnocchi was insanely good! The gnocchi was cooked well, the rabbit was super tender and seasoned well, and I was surprised by how well the aged balsamic pulled the dish together. I highly recommend this dish. I saw other dishes that were served to other tables that had me salivating too, so I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Started with a flight, which consists of six 4 oz pours for $15 - and unfortunately, you cannot pick the beers that you want in your pricey flight. Lunch menu was very limited. Such a hidden gem!! I've been to Little 5 so many times but always driven past this. I came here for a weeknight dinner with a friend. The parking lot is small but we found a spot and were seated almost immediately. I really loved the cozy vibes inside the basement of this Victorian-style house and the menu too felt very farm to table. I also loved the choice of local beers. We got the Wreckinator Dopplebock and a SAVAGE! Brown Porter. Our server was super knowledgeable and gave great recommendations and even let us taste to figure out what we wanted. For food, we had the octopus appetizer, pork schnitzel, a side of mac n cheese, and pork belly. The octopus was so tender and buttery and I liked the bok choy it came on top of. The pork schnitzel was cooked so thinly and crispy and was so yummy. The mac n cheese was so rich and I loved the variety of cheese used in it. The star of the night had to be the pork belly. It was so delicious and the celeriac puree it came on top of was HEAVENLY. I was literally scraping this off the plate. To round out the meal, we had an apple fritter with ice cream which came highly recommended by our server and did not disappoint. Located in the basement of an old mansion, the Wrecking Bar is an intimate restaurant, bar and brewpub. The ambiance is definitely English pub in nature and many of the beers fit this style. The food also has that feel with cheese and charcuterie board options, The menu also feels very farm to table in nature. Sat down at the bar and ordered a flight and had a great talk with the bartenders on that night. Very friendly staff and knowledgeable about their product. That should go without saying, but you would be surprised how many don't. Unfortunately, I can't rate the food here, as I had already eaten about an hour earlier. But the pork belly, duck pot pie, and trout all sounded wonderful. The person down the bar from me had the Apple Butter grilled cheese and was raving about how wonderful (and unique) it was. As my meal earlier was more basic and marginal, I wish I had read the menu here first. On a subsequent trip, I have to stop again and try some of the food. read more

We both wanted sandwiches so we ordered the crispy cod sandwich and the apple butter grilled cheese so we could both try both sandwiches. For the sides we ordered fries. The patio is tucked into the side of the restaurant in a way that makes you feel like you're sitting on someone's porch- the neighborhood is residential which adds to that feeling. They have interesting beers- my husband enjoyed a whit beer and a "black" beer. I had the gin and tonic. The have a fabulous wine list. The cauliflower is plated weird but was delicious. I tried the rainbow trout with risotto and spring onions. The fish was extremely fresh and delicious. The Mac and cheese is also very decadent and the portion is good enough for two. The burgers are also well prepared and generous and cooked as you wish. Overall, a great evening for L5P area. There is onsite and street parking, but during peak rush hour it may be a challenge to find. Hudson grille across the street and up a few steps offers $10 valet until midnight, so as a last resort you could opt to park there. read more

Wrecking Bar came in like a wrecking ball into my life and is now easily one of my favorite brewpubs in Atlanta. My first time at Wrecking Bar happened to be right before Valentines Day 2021 so they had a special menu to choose from, on top of their usual menu. There was a short wait since we didn't have a reservation but we ordered beers and before taking more than a few sips, were quickly ushered to a small table. The Boyzen the Yard Milkshake IPA was super tasty. I'm a huge fan of milkshake IPAs and this one was tart and fruity and creamy. Definitely recommend! 1/2 dozen oysters - these were on the Valentines Day menu for $11. They were classic PEI choice oysters - super fresh and briny and served with mignonette, cocktail sauce and saltines. Beef Tartare - this dish was also exclusively on the Valentines Day menu. The dish was a dichotomy of elevated versus casual. The sophisticated flavors of the tartare juxtaposed with the paired WB chips worked well. Corn Pups - I was told that the corn pups were a must. And as a HUGE addict of corn dogs, I had to order them. I never knew I had to eat a corn dog in mini lollipop form but now I know must have them whenever I am at Wrecking Bar. Pappardelle - it didn't look like much but the flavors were great. The pasta was fresh and the seafood paired with the sweet garlic butter emulsion was delicious. Wrecking Bar is definitely going to have to be in my future dinner/drinks lineup moving forward! read more

Love love love this place. We quickly became regulars here after our first visit on a whim. This place has some incredible food and amazing, hilarious staff. They have a huge beer selection, which isn't my thing, but the cocktails are always on point. An incredibly delicious meal that was locally sourced, well prepared, and delivered with such genuine, warm service. Some of my family has severe celiac and were able to have a range of delicious options. At no time did they feel uncomfortable expressing their needs to the kind staff. I came to this place 4 years ago when I did the Georgia marathon and came back recently since I moved here. The food is truly foodie food and it is all amazing!!!! I would also add the beer is a solid "good" at least the ipa I had. We choose to eat inside and we were the only ones inside, we just can't stand the flies in GA. I felt pretty safe with mask requirements, social Distancing and a really awesome smelling hand sanitizer.... I really want to know what is i. It besides aloe... smells so good! Great spot for a casual night out. The vibes here are really cool and it feels like a fancy brewery. Very COVID friendly as the tables were all spread apart and the staff all wore masks. The food was way better than I expected. I got the falafel burger with a side of Mac and cheese and I'd definitely order it again next time. The burger had a lot more flavor than falafels typically do and the patty was huge and fills you up. All staff wearing masks and gloves. Lots of cleaning/sanitizing. I got a couple different beers. Our server was happy to get us some samples before having to make a choice, but they also offer pre-made flights. Server checked in on us yet maintained social distancing too. Its been a while since I've gone out during COVID but it didnt feel like a forced situation. Things felt normal again. Every beer that I tasted was good if not great. Its a great local place and you cant find those beers anywhere else. This is a FOR REAL FOR REAL FIVE STARS! I cant think of anything else I could want from this place. FOOD - Everything I have ever gotten has been good but some of this food has been just surpassing outstanding to atmospheric deliciousness. The tartar is just too good. Everyone at the table was in awe. BEER - I prefer the hoppy beers like the Juice Willis but they are doing some great stuff in the wood aged category too. SERVICE - Once I had a bad server here but she was definitely the exception to the rule because normally our server knows everything about the menu and is super helpful. I was a bit skeptical when I ordered the Apple Butter Grilled Cheese sandwich... but... holy. crap... this sandwich is unreal. It was so delicious and tasty, and all the ingredients work perfectly together. I've had a lot of unique grilled cheeses in my life but this one easily tops them all. Highly recommend ordering it. This venue is actually really amazing and the way they made it COVID friendly was really awesome. (I think they have weddings here too!) I think the beers here are really great, they have so many on tap, and they have a great game room with ping pong tables, TVs, darts, and board games to hang out and drink. Unfortunately, regarding the food, our expectations were not completely met. Came here for date night. Maybe we just came here on an off day, but both burgers were ordered medium and came out well well well done, and we had no opportunity to tell our server as they didn't check on us until they brought the bill. The fries weren't seasoned at all. The Mac n cheese was raved by our server, but tasted store bought. I was hoping it would be a lot more fancy pub fare.
