In Greensboro, a city whose downtown once had a "hamburger square" of burger joints and related…read moreentertainment, it seems appropriate, whenever possible, to try a cheeseburger. Most have been underwhelming, or inconsistent at best. Stumble Stilskins isn't bad. The burger is the smash burger style -- not always ideal, but pretty good when done nicely, as it is here. "Crispy on the edges" it specifies in the menu, and that is accurate. The meat is also well-seasoned and not dry. Excellent! The cheese is the proper yellow American. The fries, while not hand-cut (which is fine, in this case), have been fried nicely, in fresh tasting oil, and seasoned generously. So much attention to seasoning is really appreciated. The fatal flaw of the burger is that it is apparently served on a "brioche bun." The bun is large, agonizingly dense, and weirdly sweet. In particular, when it's doing battle with the slim carefully structured and seasoned smash burger patties, the heaviness and sweetness are extremely oppressively overpowering. Now, you may say, why didn't I just not eat the bun (which would've been good for the flavor, texture, and my caloric intake)? Well, if you are, as I apparently am, genetically 2/3 sheepdog, you have no choice but to rapidly eat everything in front of you. The atmosphere isn't bad. There's not much to it -- classic bar, but neat and tidy, with TVs and little tables here and there. Not really any nooks and crannies, even in the dimmer half of the restaurant. It would probably be even better if you were drunk. The bathroom was notably clean -- though I can't imagine how chaotic it gets when the place is crowded, since it's a single-occupancy. If you're seated at one of the high top tables, be prepared to be uncomfortably close to the mustachioed open mouth of what I think is Danny McBride.

Mark, our server, carefully explained the gluten free options and inquired about the dangers of cross contamination. He is a friendly, helpful, and clearly experienced server. We opted to drink Bodega Shop Fruit Punch with 10mg THC, and a specially made Lemon Drop. Our meals were delicious: Smash Burger (no bun), Steak Sando, and the Buffy Chicken Sandwich. We were there at 4pm, so not so crowded yet, but we loved the early 2000s music!

The downstairs area is the main music hall, with a legit stage, a large bar, and plenty of open room. The second level features a cocktail and whiskey bar, along with a separate lounge style room filled with leather couches and chairs. The third and fourth levels both offer outdoor space, with the third floor having its own bar and the fourth providing additional seating and city views. It's a great mix of spaces for pretty much anyone. The music really stole the show this evening. I arrived early and snapped a few photos before the crowd rolled in. Dear Sister rocked tonight. What an excellent cover band! I'll be seeing them often whenever they roll into town. The only thing holding this from being a 5 star night was the service. It was decent but noticeably slow even before the crowd showed up. Once things got busy, it became very hard to grab a drink or get anyone's attention, which is typical for a packed place but still worth noting. Overall, this is a super fun spot with great music and tons of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy. I'll definitely be back for more live shows or to hang out with family and friends on a nice day up on the rooftop areas.

It's a cool, multi floor, multi bar (and when busy) space, and I believe the only rooftop bar in GSO. The bartender didn't seem too pleased with our group being there and buying drinks, despite being the only customers there. But we still tried to make the best of it. Not sure I'll be rushing back though

Whether you're looking for something to pick you up (their iced coffee lattes are fantastic) or something to help you unwind (beer, wine, and THC drinks), there's truly something for every mood and time of day. For those underage they have an array of desserts including local ice cream and lemonade. I also love how they keep the space active with weekly events, live music, and community gatherings. It feels like much more than just a place to grab a drink. My partner loves their Thursday night bike rides, and I always enjoy the live music they bring to the park. Another bonus is the location. It's within walking distance of the Greensboro Cultural Center, the downtown library, and the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, making it the perfect stop before a show, visiting art galleries, or enjoying other local community events. It's open year-round, which is great, but since it's an outdoor space, just come prepared for the weather. Overall, it's a unique local gem and a must-visit in downtown Greensboro!

I love trying new things and it did not disappoint!! the plantains were Perfect. We also had the scallops Rockefeller as a starter and that was one of the most delicious Smokey flavors I've ever experienced. Lastly, not only was our waitress, Amanda, attentive and knowledgeable on the menu items, but the owner himself came out to greet us at the end of our meal because he was told it was our first time dining there. it put such a huge smile on our faces and made us so excited to come back!! you can tell this man loves what he does and loves the people he serves. I kicked things off with the "Alex Old Fashioned," which I enjoyed. Brittani, however, took one sip and looked at me like I had just ordered dessert in a glass--so, your mileage may vary depending on your sweet tooth and relationship dynamics. Instead of going full tapa chaos, we opted for the $60 three-course route. The tomato soup was a solid opener--comforting, no notes. The burrata was... fine. It felt like it was one good drizzle of something sweet away from being memorable, but it never quite got there. Then the mains showed up and completely changed the tone of the evening. The burger and the gnocchi? Unreal. Like "briefly stop talking to your friends mid-sentence" good. Easily the highlight. Dessert was an empanada that landed squarely in the "we're already full but let's be polite" category. It did its job, but the stars had already been earned earlier. Shoutout to our server, Amanda--absolute legend. Cool, knowledgeable, and casually working on a full tattoo bodysuit, which somehow made me feel like I showed up to dinner wildly underachieving. She was fantastic. Bonus points: parking downtown was easy, and it wasn't packed, which felt like winning twice. All in all, Pangaea is a great spot--just a few tweaks away from 5 stars, but definitely worth the visit (and the gnocchi alone is reason enough to go back).
