Super chill bar and music venue with a small food menu, offering on and off sale liquor and beer. I visited on a late evening Monday for their half priced smash burger special. The bar was pretty quiet with only a handful of patrons. The service was friendly and prompt, immediately taking my drink order and offering a menu. I started with the Ziggys Fry Bread, which came with a side of cheese sauce. The bread was delicious! Cheese sauce was just ok. There are 7 different smash burgers to choose from on the menu. I went with the California. Patties were cooked to perfection, all the toppings fresh and crisp. It was served on an "everything" seasoned bun with was awesome and a nice touch. Music started at 8:00. Was a nice little 2 piece band. Sound was great In the space and wasn't too loud. Will definitely be returning to Ziggys! read more

Now Max's Social House. Charging a cover on the weekend for the live music. They have very little places to sit upstairs during the music. They remove tables and chairs so you have to stand. Saw the bartender open a foil cover on a booze bottle with his mouth! The management right now is very poor. They open the door to the smoking patio and all the smoke comes inside. Food is typical bar food. Not sure if things will improve once they get all the remodeling done or not. Until then we will not be back. read more

We came to Ziggy's tonight because they advertised seeing the grinch from 6-8pm (who never came, but not their fault), so we brought our kids and thought we'd have dinner before it got too busy. We sat down at 5:30pm. Our waitress came to take our drink order, then our food order...that was the last we saw of her. We had 3 children under the age of 5 and sat there for over an hour. Our waitress never came back to check on us, see if we wanted anything else, or even give us an update on if our food would be coming out. Multiple people in our party had to get up and walk to the bar to get drinks. Our kids food from the kids menu never came. Finally a gentlemen came up to us around 7pm and asked us if we needed anything. We said we'd prefer just to leave as we have kids who haven't ate dinner. On our way out, the waitress who ignored us all evening simply said "have a nice night" in a sarcastic tone. I understand things get busy, but I've never been to a restaurant and been completely ignored. With so many good places to eat/drink in Hudson, it'll probably be a while before giving Ziggy's another chance. read more

Having used up most of our allotted time at the Village Inn, my local and I only had a few minutes to down a couple beers at the Zig. My daughter was making my favorite meal, and we had a tight window in which to get our social drinking in. So unfortunately for us, maybe not so for Ziggys, it was going to be the ol' in and out this time round. The place is huge. A good sized bar and hoards of tables. My buddy told me that the place hasn't changed much since the days when it was Pudges. A new window here and there and an expansion, but otherwise it looked the same as when he and a coworker got fired from their job for having a few drinks on their lunch break 50 years ago. Seems their boss at the store across the street took exception to them coming back a bit on the tipsy side. Can't imagine why. I noticed what looked to be a black jack table tucked to the side. I was told that under the cover was a piano. Pretty cool. Live music. Nice. Not my cup of tea, but tea isn't the main beverage being served, and it works for the crowd. I wonder if Ziggys is prompted by the Zigfeld Follies of the early 1900's. That would explain the piano, but I didn't see any of the dancing girls. Maybe it was too early in the day. That action probably doesn't start up until the full effect of adult beverages take hold. I'll have to come back when meatloaf isn't waiting for me. Quick Tip; Zigs has a liquor store in the back, (as if you didn't get enough while listening to the tickling of the ivorys). Grab a bottle and a Folly girl and make a night of it. read more

Fish fry Friday is great. 4 tasty, tiny filets. You order as much as you want. They weren't sure they had malt vinegar, but someone found one. Not my style thin fries, Basil liked them and ate them all. A good tarter sauce. I started with a wild rice soup perfect on a rainy day. A delicious ginger ale. Great service from Kailee. It starts at 5 and they have a piano man front and center. I can't wait to go back for the burgers. read more

A coworker asked me to join her tonight. We crossed the river to check out the Friday evening piano entertainer, and have dinner and drinks. This was my first visit to Hudson. Cute little town along the St. Croix. Loved the atmosphere of this place. A good showing of people but not super loud or packed. Staff friendly and attentive. Tables and floors clean. Many seating options: tables with chairs, tables with a bench or high tops. We started with ordering drinks. I ended up getting a 2-4-1 because my ticket didn't get cleared and the bartender made a 2nd in error. Yeah, but I really didn't want (or drink) the second. Now take this next narrative with a grain of salt. **I just came back from Nashville and ordered a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich at Princes's and it was delicious. However I got to choose my heat intensity on that sandwich. **Ziggy's has a Tennessee Hot Chicken sandwich too! But this was a one size does not fit all taste bud. Let's start with the everything bagel seasoning bun. I'm not a fan of the over powering garlic and onion flavor. That was NOT in the description on the menu. I have a pic of it and just double checked. I took one bite of the sandwich and it took all I had to not spit it out. Way too much cayenne!! I coughed and coughed, turned bright red because I couldn't breathe. The waiter came over to see if I was okay. *me choking, can't breathe, coughing, shaking head*. Asks if I want ranch. Ranch will not fix this. I finally tell him in a whisper voice I'll need a to go box because I won't be eating this. When I got home I stripped the chicken of all the contaminated breading. And there was still plenty of heat in the residue left behind on the bun and slaw. Major fail for me. Princes's was better. With everything else being fun and pleasant, I'll definitely be back to try a more bland meal. read more

I've been here many times for drinks, but on a whim decided to stop for lunch with the family today...we weren't feeling our usual stops. We sat at a cozy booth right by the front windows. It was such a great spot! We had a great view of Second Street and a super cute cushioned bench seat with throw pillows. Loved it! The food was amazing! We split the Chicago beef sandwich with tots and decided to also order two street tacos. We tried the steak chimichurra and po'boy with fried shrimp and andouille sausage. I was impressed! Definitely better than the average bar food I was expecting. The service was great! We will definitely return! read more

Great customer service and good food - 4 stars. We stopped for lunch at Ziggy's. They have off-street parking. It's fine for lunch. It probably doesn't cut it when there's live music and lots of people though. We sat on the north side patio which we later found out is the "dog friendly" patio. I guess that explains all of the stainless steel water bowls! The customer service was first rate. The bartender, Doug, was the main person serving us and he was awesome - on top of everything with a friendly demeanor. Our burger and sandwich were good. I think I have to knock them on price though. I had a small burger with a handful of fries and it was 15 bucks - it seemed a little steep for what I got. All-in-all, I like Ziggy's. We were upstairs with the B@band and that's a really fun vibe. But I went downstairs to get a martini and the bartender said she didn't know how to make one. So I told her I would walk her through it. When I told her to grab some vermouth another girl said, "we don't have that". And I was like, "there's literally a wall of liquor behind you." We came to Ziggy's to celebrate Wisconsins Post Covid reopening. It was a neat place with lots of room to social distance. The service was super slow but we're not complaining. It's going to be a little chaotic everywhere starting up again. The beer was cold and the wings were HUGE and seasoned very well. We got the buffalo wings and carnitas tacos. I found the meat dry but palatable. It was fun just to be out and about again living life. read more

pleasantly surprised- I am not the biggest fan of the Ziggy's across the pond so was hesitant to give this one a try but remember the great little rooftop that was there when the old place remodeled AND they advertise live music so we strolled on in for a bite to eat, a couple of cocktails, and some entertainment. Really enjoyed the menu selections and the various nooks and places to hang out. I will for sure be going back. My wife and I stopped in on a Tuesday night and had a flat crust pizza and chicken drumsticks. Both were very good. The pizza was a little shy on sauce, but the bartender got us some extra sauce which was very good. They also had a piano player that we also really enjoyed. Food is average to good. Service is average. Prices are on the high side for a Wisconsin bar with portions on the small side. They are proud of their small cups of dipping sauces (ranch, au jus, etc.) and will charge you if you request more. The real thing that bugs me is seeing the surcharge for using a credit card. That is just the wrong way to end an evening. I understand that they are trying to recoup credit card costs, but based on their prices I thought they already did that. Probably there was a small notice somewhere that credit cards would be charged a surcharge, but I never saw it. Price everything as if people are paying with credit then offer a cash discount option. Much better approach and people leave felling like they got a bargain rather than they were fleeced. read more

To start this review I want it to be known that the food was amazing, and we had possibly the best server I've had to date. Unfortunately there was a wedding upstairs and several large parties ahead of us, leading to roughly a 60-75 minute wait for our food. Kevin, our server, continued to update us on everything taking place, which really helped us with patience. When the food arrived we said this better be the best food we've ever had, and they managed to meet these expectations! The steak flatbread was awesome, but that hot chicken sandwich was to die for! To top it off our server offered to comp some desert and wound up giving us 25% off the bill. Kevin was an incredible server that really took pride in his work. We are from out of town, so won't have much opportunity to return, but if we lived in the area I'd be a regular! read more

Wow. Really good bruschetta but no spoon to scoop and bread was not easy to "load up" the bread. Two servers were taking our table but , Don't worry, "We split tips". I get that but like to know who to ask for something. Timing of food was excellent. But then both servers disappeared. Long time to be the only people sitting on the patio and see no server for over 7 minutes. We waited and waited for check and the change. Oh well, good food. read more

Great place for a lot of activities. Piano bar early evenings, then live bands upstairs in the evening. Place stays hopping late into the evening with dancing and socializing. Awesome place for watching Vikings football too. Food is great too. Free peanuts. Love the Italian grinder sandwich. Very friendly and helpful bartenders and service. Just an all around great place. Went there for lunch because we haven't eaten there before. We got the lunch sandwich specials. Took a while for someone to come to our table but after taking our order they came back regularly, never with a mask on. The managers at the end of the bar didn't have any masks either.
