Amazing rooftop in the heart of downtown Hudson. Went there for some appetizers and drinks on a late Sunday afternoon. The service was great. They have ton of tvs on the rooftop to watch sports, etc. They also have huge see through panels to protect you from the elements. Weather can change in an instance. Food: We ordered the Gouda chicken nachos with guac. It was decadent. So delish. Highly recommend. We also had jalapenos on the side so those that love them can enjoy them. Also ordered a size of fries which were okay. Drinks: I ordered a mason jar cocktail of the pina colada (not blended). I don't remember seeing the cost on the menu for their cocktails and didn't realize it was going to be in a Large mason jar. I thought it would be in a smaller sized one. Anyways it was fine and tasted good but $25 for a cocktail was steep but it was also like having 2 cocktails. Look forward to coming back and trying an entree. read more

A quaint little spot that looks way smaller from it's "main street" vibe than the actual place. It's expansive once you walk in! Beautiful decor and ambience as you walk through to the stairs that drop you out onto a sweet little rooftop venue. The staff were super attentive and knowledgeable and definitely steered us in the right direction! Mallory's will be a great summer or winter stop with the high tops fitted with gas fireplaces. 1. I asked that we be put in a booth or someplace quiet because my husband is hard of hearing and I doubted people would want to hear our conversation while having a romantic Valentine's Day dinner. We ended up next to a table of 6 friends loudly talking to each other, totally destroying the romantic vibe of the day. 2. We arrived 10 minutes early for our 4:30pm reservation. The tall man in a t-shirt walked us back and then upon arriving to the r back of the restaurant, pointed and said 2nd table on the right. That's it! He didn't walk us to the table or give us menus. 3. It took 15 minutes for someone to come and give us water. Another 20 minutes to get our drink orders, where I was given a stemless wine glass that was wet, while others around me had dry stemmed glasses. It took another 15 minutes to get our appetizer and dinner order in. Then 20 minutes to get our appetizer. We ordered Bruschetta for an appetizer and the bread was soggy and it was loaded with onions, hardly any tomatoes or balsamic vinegar. After our appetizer plate was taken away, it took damn near 30 minutes to finally get our dinner! 4. My baked potato was cold and undercooked. I asked for a loaded potato and they essentially added half a strip of undercooked bacon and 6 sprinkles of cheese for $6! After almost finishing my steak, someone finally came to ask how our meal was. When I told them about my potato, they offered to get me another one, but at that time I was two bites from finishing my steak and 2 hours into the worse meal I ever had. No one cared that I had a bad experience. The manager didn't even come to our table. 5. When the bill came, they didn't remove the potato from our bill! Once again we had to wait another 20 minutes to get them to correct our bill. 6. While waiting for the corrected bill, I went to the Open Table app and noticed it said our reservation was cancelled at 4:40pm. We were already at the table when they cancelled our reservation in-house! WTF?! This was the worse dinner experience I've ever had at a restaurant. And their overpriced, fatty steaks were full of gristle and charred! Find a better place to spend your money! We paid over $100 for me to have soggy bread, onions and charred steak. read more

If they had it if they sold it by the pound/ any specials or anything going on seasonally IDK just trying to engage with the lady that answered the phone and she was SO incredibly rude and short and snotty that I will not be wasting my time going in there... the reviews talking about the owner and staff being extremely rude and unprofessional definitely track . Grabbed a drink after a show. Checked out the speakeasy in the basement. We ended up going back upstairs to the bar because someone was playing the piano and it was loud, so we couldn't talk to each other down there. The speakeasy was not anything super exciting. Parking was available on the street and nearby lots. Primarily metered parking. Service was good. I would go back to try the food sometime. read more

Went for a quick date night with my husband. Restaurant is cute! Decor is nice and private feeling, very clean. Food was alright, I was expecting more of an in house meat type of experience but it seemed like alot of prepackaged frozen items. My meal was lacking flavor but was cooked perfect. Horrible everything and the owner is unhinged. Check out how he treats customer feedback on Google reviews or their FB page, it's wild...wildly entertaining in the worst way, ha! It's shocking what a mean and angry person he is. Any hint of constructive feedback and the owner calls the reviewer an idiot, jacka$$, a$$hole, says "good, don't come back," "this is America, I'll do what I want," calls everything "fake reviews," he rattles on and on, he seems to really hate people. Best part, he then deletes his comments and blocks you when he can't handle the smoke. He's like a noodle becoming undone, dude has been boiling in the pot too long, going to be mush soon. Overall, I would give this a 3.5 for the food alone. Nothing was amiss about the entrees we had, but there was not necessarily anything in the wow factor category. I like the ambiance of the building. One aspect of this dining visit that gave it the extra 1.5 stars was the bartender. She knows and embraces the craft of bartending, and I had an opportunity to chat with her about making bitters and comparing prohibition-era cocktails. Love that they have a rooftop! They have a few rules in order to use the rooftop (like a $50 minimum and I believe I remember a time limit) but our waiter was really reasonable about it all and it made our visit that much more enjoyable (we did end up spending $50). Portion sizes were great. We ordered the chicken Gouda nachos and my friend still raves about them to this day. We could've stopped at the nachos with how filling they were but the turkey wild rice sandwich was great as was the burger. read more

I'm somewhat astonished by the negative reviews.... Is it French Laundry? No. Is it Arby's? Nope. Is it right for a quiet lunch, glass of good wine and a wide variety of menu options at a reasonable price? Yes. The chef accommodated a special order and nailed it on the fly while fulfilling the rest of the orders, drink orders and last minute add ons. I can't speak to other (3 year old!?!?) commentary and political opinions, however neither of which is relevant to the experience. If YOU haven't tried it for yourself, I'd recommend at least going once and forming your own opinion. read more

While we are not disappointed with our experience at Mallory's we feel it could of been a little better. While it will not let me give 3.5 star I feel it is more in that area. The restaurant it self is beautiful the staff is friendly and the food wasn't bad.... but the food wasn't quiet great either. By no means if your in the area shy away from a visit. However with that said we I had the prime rib special and she had the chicken rigatoni. While the prime ribs it self was a great temperature the a jus had a strong flavor I would compare to cumin. However she found her dish to be again good but not quite great. I would defiantly go again would like to see the rooftop in a summer setting. read more

PSA the female hostess (owner) is UNHINGED. My family came in for Lunch Sunday 6/9/24. We noticed they had advertising all over the establishment (bathrooms, tabletops, on the walls in the hallway) promoting a new speak easy for events and private parties. My Retired age father was interested, on his way out of the restaurant wanted to take a look at the speakeasy space. He saw the opening of where it was and went down to look. He was startled by a woman (hostess/owner) screaming at the top of the stairs to get the F** out of there! She turned off the lights so he couldn't see in the dark. She ran down the stairs and grabbed his arm and pushed him causing him to be unsteady and screamed at him again that this was private property get the F** OUT ! Yet there was no sign or blocked off area suggesting that it was off limits. Is this how you get people to inquire about your new speakeasy event space? If you treat paying customers like this, I can only imagine how you treat people you actually care about. This lady is downright SCARY!? I never made it past the sign and the manager inside the front entry - very disappointing! I've been driving 45 minutes from Anoka to Hudson once a week to eat and spend my money at Hudson restaurants. I meet a friend who lives in Clear Lake, WI. We're on a mission to try every single restaurant in Hudson. It should take us about a year to accomplish this. This is my protest against all of the ridiculous rules in Minnesota, telling me what to do. So imagine my disappointment when I saw the sign on the host stand in Mallory's. Now I have a business in Wisconsin telling me what to do??? If you want a good seat on the "rooftop", you're required to donate $3 to the Hudson Boosters and you're required to spend a minimum of $25 and you're required to spend a minimum of $50 after 4:00 pm (see photo). Of course, you can skip all of this and sit alone in the dark on the ground level. We were there at lunch and the first floor booths were dark & empty. It was like a ghost town on the ground level. There wasn't a single customer to be seen at noon (see photo). I've never in my entire life heard of a mandatory charity donation before. News alert: If you require a donation to a non-profit, it is no longer a "donation" - it's a tax. I probably would have donated if I was asked nicely. But because I'm required (in order to sit upstairs) - forget it. What's more, the manager couldn't tell me anything about this charity other than they do "a lot of good things for kids". And The Boosters helped with sports activities for her own kids. Sports??? Really??? I had to Google them when I got home since the manager couldn't educate me about The Boosters...even though I was supposed to pay them money. The manager also told me that the owner is "super passionate" about The Boosters and he just donated over $10,000 to them. Correction: He donated the CUSTOMERS' mandatory meal tax money to them. I did some quick math and at $25, that's an 8.33% tax. More math, he donated the fees from 3,300 customers who were seated at his upstairs tables. And how do we know that all the required customer charity taxes are really being donated? If the owner is so passionate about it, why doesn't he donate from the profits of the restaurant? Or why doesn't he donate from his own salary? Isn't this all a little creepy? What if I want to donate to something else? What if I want to donate to the Shriner's Hospital or the March of Dimes or Black Lives Matter or the World Wildlife Fund or STEM science training for local kids (instead of sports)? And the mandatory table amount? Doesn't this really amount to a COVID fee? Why not just be more honest about everything? Skip the mandatory "donation", skip the mandatory "minimum", and raise your prices a bit until your place is back on solid financial ground again. We would have spent way more than 50 bucks on our lunches anyway. And why not have the servers ASK, politely, if I want to donate? But being told it's a requirement and to have it added to my check? That's a major buzz kill. My friend and I exercised our freedom of choice and we walked out the door. We spent our money somewhere else in town. Ate here on 12-13-24. Almost immediately after eating I got sick. I believe it was food poisoning. Severe stomach cramps and several bathroom visits. When I emailed them . They denied that I could have gotten sick that fast. Claiming it takes 24-48 hours . Wrong. There is a strain called staphylococcus that can occur within 30 minutes. I had clam chowder and a mush Swiss burger which i only ate half. I ordered it med well . I would not even be on here had they responded differently. But she just kept denying that it could have been their food . When I know damn well it was. She told me that no one else got sick. But she would reach out if others contacted them -ya for sure. And that the"reaction most likely came from an undercooked burger " or other germs like a public bathroom or doors. Good grief. Very nice place. I spent my time there up on the rooftop. Stopped in for a Moscow mule after an event. The cost was $7 and it came in a tin can. I would have to say for the price, it wasn't one of the best Moscow mules I have ever had. Their competitors on the same block had a better tasting one in a copper mug. The tin cup was the "copper mug" but you can smell the metal can every time you took a drink as well. Great wait staff! Very friendly and always making sure to see if you needed anything!
