Sunday Birthday brunch here wouldn't have guessed this is the spot to be. We called ahead and they were able to work out a table for 12 by the window which was lovely. I went with lunch and got the Pulled Pork Quesadillas which were even better than I imagined them to be. Had a couple mimosas to go with it. A fun place with lottery to be played. I was definitely surprised and impressed coming here. Everyone's meals looked tasty and we had friendly and prompt service. read more

Terrible service. Came early evening with some empty tables as we sat down. Ordered just water and ordered food about 10 mins later and never received our food for an hour and a half. Completely ridiculous and no apologies and lack of updates. I walked around and all but one table had no food. Kitchen was awfully slow. When asked what the status was told "we are busy we have 3 sections there are multiple tickets ahead of you". Would NOT recommend. read more

We ordered a pizza with bacon and banana peppers. It came out with pepperoni and banana peppers on the side. The waitress even came back to our table for a second time to ask what we ordered on our pizza. When the pizza came out we said we didn't think it was our pizza. They said you can't order a thin pizza with more than one item. Never told this. The manager took two dollars off. What a joke! Also the waitress gave us the wrong beers and I poured mine in with the one I already had. We won't be going back. read more

Well we sat down and got water and that's all we got for almost 2 hours so we left. I saw people who arrived before I did and they still didn't have food. I walked around as I left and no one had food. Not sure if a chef quit or something but ZERO food is coming out of that kitchen. If you're hungry don't go! If you have 3 hours of your life to sit and sip water, have at it. They recently expanded and I don't know which genius decided not to expand the kitchen as well. Terrible for a packed Friday night. Went to Ziggy's to celebrate a birthday. One thing I've never understood at this restaurant is it is always seat yourself, no matter how busy it is. We found a table downstairs for 4, then we were told the upstairs is open so we ended up going up there instead. Our server took our drink order and she made it sound like it's a pain to have to go downstairs to get draft beer, so she suggested a pitcher so she wouldn't have to make multiple trips up and down the stairs. It also took a really long time to get her to come back and take our food order. We had to flag her down to get her attention. The drinks and food were really good. That is one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. read more

Ordered Nacho Supreme with ground beef. Waitress staff in training. Both nice. Atmosphere so so, although floor is gross. Don't really care about that. Music selection pretry awesome. No doubt about it, Ziggy's has great tasting food, but I ordered a large Supreme pizza over the phone, asked that they hold the green peppers, put banana peppers on the side. You guessed it, pizza had full green peppers and banana pepper all over the pizza. Great disappointment when I know the employee wrote down my requests. read more

It's THE perfect sports bar & grill, with a nice bar area, comfortable table & chair seating and flat screens everywhere, so customers won't miss a sports play! Let's start with the price of a Pepsi at $2.79 and then the price of a dozen wingsat$ 16.99! They aren't coated with any kind of special sauce making them so pricy, the waitress just stated that there is a chicken wing shortage, funny because they are the only restaurant claiming this and raising the price because of it and then my sons burger, while it was burger day and it was ony $6.00 I wouldn't say it was worth any more than $2.00, the bun and burger were both burnt and my son refused to eat it. I've been going to ziggys for more than 20 years and I am finally fed up with the nickel and diming. I will not be going back. read more

I came here for lunch with a group last week. We had the chicken philly, taco salad (incredible), fish tacos (friend from San Diego approved!), and a burger. Back in Amherst this week, we came back for more: ziggy wrap (chicken, bacon, etc.), hero burger (burger plus salami, pepperoni, etc.), perch sandwich, and a black and bleu burger (must ask for tomatoes and lettuce if you want any etc. on there). The sandwiches are all fantastic, but this place is really great because of the little things - great Beer selection, and great FRENCH FRY selection. "Fresh cut fries" are skinny; "Beer battered fries" are almost thick as steak fries (I had these - awesome); "Tater tots" are...tater tots (as far as I know). Bravo. Finally, a side of Potato Chips come with a nice french onion sour cream dip. C'mon who else does that? read more

Ziggy's doesn't seem like a brunch type of place from the exterior one would assume late night bar and pizza joint. While it is that exact type of place at night. Sunday morning it is transformed in to a brunch Mecca for the locals. I have come here peeriodically throughout the years and have never been desiappointed with the food or service. I believe it is the best Sunday brunch option in the area and yes the breakfast pizza is amazing. read more

Great place to stop on our way from Chicago to Cleveland. Something for everyone on the menu.

Service was blah, grilled chicken on our two entrees was over-cooked/charred. My chicken Philly grabber didn't have much flavor. We were told breakfast just shut down right at 11a but then it took another 30+ minutes for our food because the kitchen was switching menus, so we got double-punched. I think it all would have worked better if they let us use the breakfast menu. read more

Ziggy's is a cool place. Want to watch a game with your friends. You can do that. Want to come in for the daily specials? I'd recommend that. They even have a party room upstairs that you can rent, complete with an elevator. Ziggy's has a full service bar, and a really good kitchen. TVs line the walls, so even if you come in alone you will probably find something to keep you occupied. I've always gotten good service, and the food is worth coming in for. They have daily specials, and I've tried a lot of them, but you can't go wrong with one of their burgers (try the tater tots), or especially try their pizza... I highly recommend that. read more

Having heard a lot of great things about Ziggy's, my wife and I were looking forward to finally dining there. Parking is at a premium in the small downtown area of Amherst, so we were fortunate to find a spot in the lot behind the restaurant that was not reserved bank customers. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the front. The bar is large and there are at least a couple dozen high top and regular tables. I understand that there is a second floor that can also be used for dining. Our server was prompt and friendly. In fact, service was excellent throughout the meal and after. The menu is typical pub food. There are meal specials every night, which appear to be of great value. We had the hamburger special ($6 for a cheeseburger). The burger was huge and the bun fresh. It was cooked to the exact temperature ordered. The meal included a selection of fries (two types), tots, or chips (which were great). I had a cup of stuffed cabbage soup, which was served hot and was very good. There are TVs throughout the restaurant and it is pretty noisy. If you have not tried Ziggy's I would recommend that you do so. read more

First visit after living here for almost 2 years and I can only say "What was I waiting for?" Pub and restaurant is a good description, as the bar area is big, with loads of TV screens and there is another area for those that don't want the noise of the bar. The menu is extensive, but we came on Wednesday for the $5 burger. Service was as good as it gets. Quick drink order, quick food order, refills and check. Couldn't ask for anything more. We both had the cheeseburger, with mine being medium well as I don't like pink. It was cooked to perfection. The burger is huge, and my only complaint might be is that the bun is very thick. I think it might need to be though since the burger itself is so large. I had the fries which were nice and hot and my husband had the chips which were especially good when they were hot. Stopped in for a late dinner the other night. They were out of their daily special so we went with Plan B. My fiancé got the Cheesesteak Pizza and I ordered the Supreme Pizza - both 10". I ordered mine without cheese due to my dairy allergy. The pizzas came out fairly quick and smelled delicious! My Supreme Pizza had tons of toppings and the Italian sausage on it was good & spicy. Unfortunately, the dough was raw under all the toppings so I asked our server if I could have mine cooked longer. She came back to the table and said the kitchen was making a new pizza for me, but it be the 12" size, as they were out of the dough for the smaller size. When the remade pizza came out, it was perfect! The crust was crispy and thin. Again, it was loaded with toppings which were all great quality. My fiancé thoroughly enjoyed his Cheesesteak pizza too. Very good food. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and it was delicious. Our waitress, Raven, was very nice and answered my ridiculous amount of questions about beer prices. What can I say, Ziggy's is the place to be! They have awesome food and a great selection of beers. Every time I go there it is packed. The perfect place to watch a game since they have so many flat screens through out. I just had dinner there last night and you would have thought it was a Friday night but it was Wednesday! Every seat in the house was full. On Wednesday's they offer a $5 burger special. I loved the buffalo chicken sandwich! It was so SO good! The opening of Brew Kettle down the street has definitely not affected business for Ziggy's. The service is really great and our waitress was checking on us frequently. Ziggys holds a special place in my heart, this was the first bar I bought my first drink "vodka 7" (I was in 7th grade) I've matured now & moved up to vodka sodas like a legal drinker..breakfast is pretty good as well as service. The building actually use to be kuss's pharmacy over a hundred years ago owned & operated by my great great grandparents. My great grandmother once told me a scientist from Polaroid film walked in looking to sell stock...but mother said no dear we are not throwing money away, she saw the future 2008! Obama was here, 2nd president to visit Ohio..JFK was the first he drove by my uncle Walt who was patching a roof on his bar "Adams Cafe" In Lorain Ohio. Amherst, city of bars. If you are looking for the best one in town then stop by and give Ziggy's a try. One of the best things about Ziggy's is it's size. I hate going to bars where I am forced to touch arms with that big, obnoxious meathead who has had a few too many. This bar has a great mixture of barstools, high-top tables (round and square) and regular tables. Even when Ziggy's is busy I never feel like I am crammed into a sardine can. They also have plenty of flatscreen TVs if you want a place to watch that big game. If you want some great bar food then come hungry. Not only do they have tasty appetizers, they have great pizza, wraps, salads and dinner specials. I love the Ziggy Wrap! I also love their homemade chips with dip. If you like Lake Erie Perch you have to give theirs a try! I have yet to have a bad meal at Ziggy's. I often order take out and it is just as good at home as it is in the bar! The service is always friendly at Ziggy's! For the most part their servers and bartenders are very sweet. Even on busy nights they do their best to serve their customers in a timely fashion. Icing on the cake??? They have free Wi-Fi. If you want to take in your computer and do some work or hold a meeting they are very accommodating. read more
