I really wanted to like this place, based on the high reviews, and also because I was doing my monthly lunch with bffs. It was Taco Tuesday, so they were a little less than the regular price, but nothing like $2 each like other Taco Tuesdays I've been to. I picked the two most expensive on the Taco Tuesday menu, short ribs and Tandoori chicken, which were $4 each. That is not bad, but that's only if I liked the tacos. Short ribs are a favorite of mine, and they have a distinct flavor that is undeniably short ribs. I'm not going to say they weren't short ribs, but the meat tasted like plain shredded beef. The tandoori chicken appeared to me as cubed boneless white meat chicken chunks poached in a broth seasoned with Indian spices, whereas actual tandoori chicken is baked in a tandoori oven. With that said, the tacos were just okay, and nothing to write home about. There were other things on the menu that looked good and would have tried had it not been taco Tuesday, but probably would only come back if one of my bffs picked it, since I am 45 minutes away. read more

After mistakinhly posting a bad review on this restaurants page, I wanted to check out the real thing. Upon entering, it is a lot like a Beachy/ surf restaurant & bar. Very casual & laid back with a chill vibe. I sat at the bar & The friendly bartender greeted me with salsa & chips The chips were crisp, not too salty & not at all greasy. The salsa was nothing unique, it was chunky & did not have much kick. I got the steak & shrimp tacos, absolutely amazing. Very full of steak & shrimp, but they were topped with ultra thin sliced shallots deep fried, that were the bomb! Crunchy, sumptuous & a great pairing. I got the orzo salad as my side. It has a very fine dice of cucumber in it, which was the only flavor, no salt or pepper. Maybe a wedge of lime would have woken it up I met the manager Anthony & we spoke about the restaurant he was quite knowledgeable & friendly. I never realized that Craft Kitchen owned both chains. This establishment offers Mexican, burgers, salads & basically pub grub. While the environment & staff were very welcoming & the service was great, I did not appreciate the nickel & dimming on the menu For example; extras on burgers, extra for whole wheat tacos, extra for fries... It was a bit much when the side I had was mot worth the time. They do have a $3 taco Tuesday! The tacos are great, I'll be back again. What's a girl to do? Ok went to Zim Zari with two girlfriends and this was kind of a make up from a previous visit.. Simply amazing from the bbq burger to the short rib taco and my favorite burrito. Whether I have a Mongolian bowl or a simple burger, the food at Zim Zari is great. They offer a baja style touch on some traditional dishes, but you always get great flavors exploding from your fork. We recently took my grandma there, who is so picky, she makes my kids look good. Even she loved it there. We've been there a bunch and service is always great too. I wish they had more outside space; but, I'll take what I can get there. read more

Zim zari is a great fast cas restaurant in the trinity area. It's sister store, surf shack, is located in westchase. I've never had a bad meal here. Once inside though we enjoyed the ambiance and talented servers. It was 'Taco Tuesday' so we sampled a trio of their finest. My Prime Rib taco was amazing! Brought my in laws here for birthday lunch. Great first impression when hostess opened and held door for us as we walked in! My wife had a margarita, said it was very good, and mother in law had a flight of margaritas, also very good. Our waitress was busy but very accommodating, answered any questions we had. We had the chips with salsa and queso. It was the best salsa I ever had at a restaurant, had a little sweetness to it. My father in law had a quesadilla that he loved. Our office celebrated a staff birthday at Zim Zari on Tuesday, 1/7/2020. Thanks to the recommendation of our fabulous server, Chris, I ordered the Mongolian Steak Bowl, and it was amazingly delicious and satisfying. Everyone in our party was extremely pleased with the appetizers, entrees, and beverages that were ordered. I also loved that Zim Zari provides each table with complimentary chips and salsa (rather than bread) when you are seated. The chips and salsa were not only sensational but highly addicting. I loved the interior decor, especially the Edison light bulbs set in faux gas-valve sconces. Last, but certainly not least, I wanted to praise Chris for being such an amazing human being and server. Ignored, what a disgrace. My experience at this establishment highlights the journey I have been on while embracing gatherings in Pasco County. As a black woman, I felt completely ignored by the waitress. I'll love to share my gratitude towards the young lady who greeted me as I entered the restaurant. This was my first time at Zim Zari and it was pretty good. The chips were ice cold that came with the salsa so that is what set this back a star. For my main entree I got a sun burnt steak burrito which was good but nothing special. For my side I got ginger lime rice and it didn't have any lime flavor and all you could taste was the ginger. My daughter is in town visiting after having moved away from the area. She was excited to take me to Zim Zari for dinner. It happened to be Taco Tuesday. They were very busy but our waitress (we forgot to get her name) who has been there for 5 years was hustling. We ordered a total of 4 volcano shrimp tacos, a chicken taco and the kids steak tacos along with yucca fries. After waiting roughly an hour, our food came out and it was cold. We sent it back and they did quickly get us hot food. The manager did take care of our bill minus the drinks we had ordered. He came out once before the food came to apologize for the long wait but never returned to our table again. If it had not been for our waitress hustling, we would never consider returning again. read more

We stopped by to eat at craft street kitchen, but they were closed. We looked around and saw Zim Zari and thought we would try it out. Over 120 reviews and 4.5 stars...I had to give it a try. It did not disappoint! The quality of food, customer service, and prices were stellar! This place is the perfect spot and the food is too notch. I wish it was closer to New Tampa. Even though it is a trek from where I live, I will be back. My wife and I wee very pleased with our waitress Julie. Very punctual, informative, and did a great job. I had a special called the Chimichanga Del Mar, while my wife had the Sweet Heat Popcorn Chicken tortillas...they were both very fresh and delicious. The complimentary chips and dip are to die for. I had the cucumber gimlet. One of my favorite drinks. And it was killer. Also had the house margarita. Yummy and it was 1/2 price cause Friday is happy hr from 9 to close. Got to try the upside down nachos which were great. That were the great flavor stopped. I had the filet taco with crispy onions. It's alright. Also had the volcano taco. A version of the boom boom shrimp from bone fish but on a fllour tortilla. To much mayo in the aioli. Server was great just the food was Ok.
