It was the first ice cream shop though to open up at the time and I absolutely HAD TO try it based on a rave review from our then mayor. It did not disappoint in quality and I was also happy to learn that it was withing walking distance of where I live! You know this is a decent ice cream place when you get there in the summer hours and see a bunch of kids there with their parents after their practices for summer sports and such. Great to see this and I hope the new owners keep it just as busy! Service has always been decent for me. The only issue that I ever had was with a cake I wanted to get a year ago for a family member's birthday. I unfortunately had to cancel it as the family member was going through a medical issue and we weren't going to be able to celebrate it that year. I felt like I was given a hard time about this (I understand they may have lost business, but there was no way on rescheduling the event to get the cake which would have went to waste if I picked it up). Other than that, the cakes were always fantastic for me whenever I got them there. This is the only reason for 1 less star. I surely do hope the new owners can keep the tradition of amazing cakes going as well as the quality of ice cream. Savannah offers job, social & life skill opportunities to adults with disabilities by employing them. Some of, if not most of her staff, are disabled adults getting the chance to learn how to work and speak to customers professionally. I was able to witness her coaching a staff member through our transaction today, She is truly kind and so patient. It was a lovely experience. I picked up 6 cake bombs (I think thats what they were called), A S'mores cookie, and a massive chocolate brownie. I would have gotten a lot more baked goods, however the only other option was cupcakes and I'm just not a cupcake person. They seemed to be almost cleared out by the time I could make it in! The cake bombs were moist inside, the brownie was soft, chewy, and chocolatey, and the cookie was fresh and soft. The building is cute with hand painted murals on the windows that correspond to the current holidays/seasons. A few picnic tables outside with buckets of chalk for the kids to draw on the concrete and corn hole! I only wish I had some shade to sit under out there, it was hot and bright today.
