I really wanted to like this place because it's so close to me. I bought a Groupon for a Brazilian wax and I walk in there and there's already a stick in the wax.... and I was like........ that isn't from the last person right? The lady was like no. And when she was applying the wax onto me, I noticed she never threw away any sticks. Oh my god. I'm too nice of a person to say anything in real life so I just had to come on here and warn u guys. You're not supposed to apply the wax onto the person and then PUT THE SAME STICK BACK IN THE WAX AGAIN. Those wooden stick things are so inexpensive too. Literally just get them in bulk on Aliexpress or something, and please THROW EACH STICK AWAY AFTER EACH APPLICATION. Omg. This is not something to be cheap about.... Wouldn't you rather have disease free wax. The ladies who work there are so so nice and I feel really bad saying this, but I'm grossed out and I wish someone had warned me. Also I think I might have gotten burned because I came home, showered immediately and there's this one part that hurts more than the rest. This has never happened to me before. I applied aloe and neosporin and now it doesn't sting but still slightly irritated. I suggest you don't go here for a Brazilian wax but for things like eyebrow threading, maybe. But I'm honestly scared rn. I got burned AND the lady was double dipping. Now I have trust issues and I think I'm just gonna try laser hair removal from now on UPDATE: I was definitely burned and now I keep it constantly moisturized with coconut oil because part of my skin is peeling off. The coconut oil is helping so that's a relief. It's been 3 days, so it's better now but it's been on the back of my mind for 3 days. I'm going to the gynecologist to make sure everything is OK. This wax kind of ruined my Labor Day weekend. For sensitive areas like Bikini, brazilian.... I can't believe you would double dip and make the wax so hot. I'm annoyed. Who does that...... read more

I have been coming to this salon for YEARS. I have seen more than a few threading ladies come and go here, for good reason and who were FANTASTIC at eyebrow threading and shaping. Just to name a few: Kanese, Hera and now Jazz- absolutely divine. Professional, precise and gentle. What more can you ask for?! My brows look Amazing, Shewta's attention to detail was impeccable, I normally don't tint but she was able to explain the process and after care so I went for it and wasn't disappointed. I will start by saying that there's nothing fancy or overly exciting about either location, but this is the closest that I've come to getting my eyebrows done with the sharpness and precision that I have found in the city for years. (I'm pretty picky and I've been threading my eyebrows for 20 years). However, I had to give them three stars not based on skills - Kineese and Poonam are both amazing (the only two that I highly recommend) - but because of how hard it is to get in touch with them and find the same person twice. The inconsistency in scheduling makes it hard to get brows done with any future planning and this can be frustrating. If you call the main line, it will give you two numbers to call for either location - often the answer to who is in is answered with "I don't know" or call back later. Either way, I do recommend them as I have not found any place that does a better job in the nassau area BUT call before hand for the two names mentioned and go to Baldwin because they usually have the more skilled professionals here. read more

I went there today @7pm on saturday and everyone from the store was walking but the actually lady who does threading left way before. It says they close at 7:30 so i went 30 mintues earlier just to do my eyebrows and they were closed. I think its very disappointing for workers to do this. i wouldnt mind it the papers said 7 but its says 7:30 even online!!! i wouldn understand closing 5/10mins early but half and hour and everyone leaving by than. I attended the Baldwin location for a Brazilian wax... I purchased a Groupon which would be for two Brazilian waxes. They sounded nice on the phone, since it was expired they gave me credit for the voucher's worth which meant they took 20 off two Brazilian waxes. It was not worth it al all!!!!! it was horrible. The wax is not intended to be used in that area. It was more painful than my first Brazilian wax. The price was not good to begin with. just stay away . read more

I usually get my eyebrows threaded in queens but since I've been working in Long Island I haven't been able to go as often as I like. Finally decided to check on Yelp for a new spot and I came across this place. I called the number and I spoke to Eliza. She was very friendly over the phone and told me they have two locations. One in Freeport and one in Baldwin. She directed me to the Baldwin location. I didn't have to much trouble finding the location thanks to Eliza's directions. The place was small but it looked clean. When I arrived I told the lady (I believe her name was Kanisa) that Eliza directed me here. I explained to her I am really picky when it comes to doing my eyebrows. She asked me what I wanted and I was happy with the end result. She did a good job. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars but however they have a $15 limit to use your credit card. It's silly to me because it cost $8 for eyebrows and $4 for upper lips bringing my total to $12. She did however give me a credit of $3 for my next visit. Tip- Bring cash! They didn't have a credit card machine and she had to call the other location so they can charge my card. I will be keeping a close look to make sure my card doesn't get used elsewhere. If it's all looks good I will return. read more

Love this place! I have been going here to get my eyebrows threaded for years now and for the first time I decided to get a facial there with Lena. Well, it was amazing! She did a phenomenal job and she is a sweetheart. I will definitely be scheduling another one with her! I could see and feel the difference in my skin. The store has no expertise to perform leg or bikini waxing. I I was left with bruises that lasted a week and patches of hair that I had to shave off. This was after I needed to direct her to show her the areas that she did not done at all in an upper thigh and bikini wax. Dreadful experience. The following week I got a laser treatment Groupon so I am never at the mercy of incompetence again. read more

So let's start by saying I have been getting a Brazilian wax for over two years now. I usually travel from Nassau county to Suffolk county to Simply Wax. Never had a issue there but wanted to try some where in Nassau where I live. So I decided to go to Zip Zap in Baldwin, like other reviews Lisa is awesome over the phone, she was not at the Baldwin location. But recommended me to see a lady by the name of Putnam. (MAY HAVE SPELLED HER NAME WRONG). So lisa did tell me that they use A hot chocolate wax, this was my first time using it. I am use to a hard blue wax tgat hardens. Putnam did awesome on my eyebrows. So now it's time for the Brazilian. First she DOES NOT prep u down there she just applied the wax and then yanks the chocolate off with the wax paper. WTF I THOUGHT MY labias were gonna rip right off. She was nice but did a horrible job she did my eyebrows and a full Brazilian wax in less than 12 min. I knew something was wrong. I left there in pain down there. Let's just say that I am dark skinned and my labia is now RED. NOT THE CLEANEST PLACE. Love this place!! They listen to what you want to the tee.. Also it is rather painless they work very quickly which I love! The wait is never long than 10 minutes and the actual eyebrow threading takes about 5minutes! read more

I goes to Zip Zap for my eye brows more than a year now. I love both Baldwin & Freeport saloons. They do a excellent job. Also owner is very nice and every time you call them she make sure you will get a better service. I would like to recommend this place to anyone. read more

This is my second time here trying to support my local businesses. Unfortunately just like before my eyebrows were very painful. Let me start by saying I really like the owner of Zip Zap (Lisa). From the moment I called she was and still remains extremely professional, upbeat (consistently) and very helpful. Once you tell her your needs and preferences, she gladly guides you to the person she thinks will best meet those needs. I have been a customer at the Freeport location for over a year, and while I am pleased with the Freeport location, I LOVE the Baldwin location. Can I please share with you the greatness that I have just witnessed?! I called the salon around 2:45 to check if they took appointments. Lisa is awesome! She clearly loves what she does and you can tell by the way she answered the phone. (I'm a stickler for great customer service.) I pulled into the parking lot (it's right next to the clearview theatre) and it seemed as if no one was in the store. I parked my car and walked in the store. Kanees greeted me immediately while she finished up another client's eyebrows. I probably waited 5 minutes to be blessed by Kanees' loving hands. She took her time with my brows and made them utter perfection. She also delicately waxed my upper lip (hormones are the devil) and made sure to be as neat and clean as possible. The entire process took maybe 15 minutes and I was thrilled. The only thing extra that I wanted was a bikini wax and the waxing person wasn't there. It's ok, I'll come back another time for it. This is the best salon that I have been to in LI. They do NOT double dip. The $30 I spent was well worth the money and I will be returning! Thanks Kanees and Lisa! read more
