While the counter Staff was extremely friendly and efficient, I'm curious to know what the hell is happening in the kitchen. It was jamming with orders last night. The lobby area was packed and their "progress" screen was filled with names and numbers. My Husband and I decided to order at the counter instead of the App, then proceeded to wait 20+minutes for our order. That wasn't the issue.. the issue was our order was cold and disgusting. Hamburger steak gravy was a gelatinous muck, and my fries were stale and limp. Husbands chicken was soggy and falling apart. How does this even happen? Even if you did have the food pre-cooked, assembling it shouldn't take as long as it did. Also, if you're constantly pushing out orders and having to replenish food.. nothing should be room temp at best. $35 for slop. I never expect much from Zippy's so I rarely support them anymore, but when I do stop by they get so creative with ways to disappoint me. read more

Zippy's Mililani is hands down my favorite Zippy's on the island. Now living on the mainland, I make it a point to stop here every trip, just like I would always want to growing up. My go-tos are the Korean fried chicken and the oxtail soup - with how pricey oxtail is nowadays, it feels like a treat, and the portions here are usually bigger than other spots. The staff is always so nice and checks in often. I love that they're slowly upgrading the place too. Zippy's will always be nostalgic for me and the ambiance always remind me of my childhood. read more

Yummy comfort food and generous portions. The plates were all overall really good. I really liked the Korean chicken, but thought the katsu was a bit dry and tough. The utensils could have been a tad bit cleaner too. Really warm and welcoming customer service. The staff member gave us each a free Zippy coin for the coin machines since we were all visiting Hawaii for the first time. There's a bakery right next to the diner. Takeout dinner from Mililani, Oahu, Hawaii... Somehow, my GPS brought me here... even though I was looking for Starbucks! LOL! Well, since I found easy, free parking in front of Zippy's... and I remembered that I had gift certificates to use, I went into Zippy's Mililani. (I don't want to misplace the certificates again!) The interior was busy and a bit crowded. I ordered at the counter and was asked if I wanted a plate or just the burrito. Maybe I haven't ordered a Chili Burrito in a while, but I thought that it always comes on a plate. I sat and waited a bit for my order... When my number was called, I grabbed it and took the package home. I did check the contents of the package first and was surprised to see macaroni salad and rice in the takeout container. Then, I realized that the difference between a plate and "just the burrito" was the rice and mac salad... LOL! At home, I devoured the burrito. It's not the best, but I was starving. I believe the burrito is fried? I'm not sure because it's hidden under the chili... which i ate with some of the rice. I was quite full and didn't even touch the mac salad! I guess I should order "just the burrito" when I order Chili Burrito again... or maybe I should get a plate because the rice helped me eat more of the famous chili... Darn... that comfort food... Grew up going to this Zippys! However, lately the customer service has been a little slow and a lot of times when I receive my food it is lukewarm barely warm at all. However, I do love the new renovations they did. It looks very modern nice and up-to-date! The waitress informed me about the Zipster reward program, which was pretty awesome. On mainland all you hear about it Zippy's in Hawai'i, da chili and rice. So, we finally tried...it was ok. Located at Mililani Town Center so parking is no problem. They offer a huge menu to choose from as well as a Napoleon's Bakery station inside the restaurant. Customer service was AMAZING, both times we went! Some may say its the chili...naw brah IT'S THE KOREAN CHICKEN! We ordered: Chili & chicken mixed plate - chili (just ok), korean chicken (AMAZING), white rice, and house salad Korean chicken plate with fried rice and mac salad - korean chicken (AMAZING), fried rice (too wet for my liking), mac salad (delish) Cornbread - delish I was very surprised with the mac salad being so delicious. This is the only Zippy's I've been to that the servers ask if you're a Zipster so you can make sure to earn your coins. Every server we've ever had the pleasure of serving us asks us when taking our order. Good job to entire team! Zippy's is almost always serving over cooked burnt fried chicken. I Ordered a mixed special plate today....There was a piece of fried chicken thigh that was so burnt on the outside and hard and dry on the inside. This was no fresh chicken, I came to eat at Zippy's approx. 12noon. Changed chicken thigh twice. Both times came back to me the same... second piece looked even worse than the first. I took photos of the chicken, then had waitress call Manager. Before waitress called Manager , she stated she didn't cook the chicken. This I know, but I did tell her when she took first plate away what was wrong with the chicken thigh. I told her couldn't eat the fry overcooked, burnt chicken thigh. Asked her to change to a fresh piece not over cooked like the one on the plate. Bit she brought another plate with a piece worse than the first. So I asked to speak to the Manager...showed her the photos I took of the burnt chicken. I imformed her seems like Zippy's is always burning the chicken thighs. Looks like leftover chicken kept under a heating lamp or just old. If this is how Zippy's fresh their chicken regularly, then they should learn how to use the fryer or not serve fried chicken. read more

If I had just got one item missing on the order, I would have just dismissed it. But, the other same item in the order is also wrong. So upset about that. The farthest is Ewa or Waipahu. If I put in Mililani, Hawaii 96782. It didn't work. As I get closer to Mililani then I can order from there. Oh, wells. At least the food is still the same. Being from Waialua, this was our go-to Zippy's! And man, do I have so many good memories here. Back in the day, this was "upscale" dining for a bunch of kids who got an allowance and took the bus--or just started driving. You know this spot is one that's hard to get rid of because of all the families it serves every day, and I'm grateful for that. The Zippy's dine-in area is one of the spots that hasn't changed over the years--and honestly, that's a good thing. If it's not broken, don't fix it, right? I can look at the decor and remember all the good (and bad) times I've had here. What I really like about this location is that it has both dine-in and take-out. Our server, Spencer, was friendly and attentive, great representation for Zippy's. As for food, my favorites are always the chicken (any kind), won ton min, saimin, grilled cheese, and french fries. Their soups are reliably good, and I can always count on finding something I wanna eat--even if I don't know what I want when I walk through the doors. First I would like to say Zippys Mililani food is good and I am usually happy when I leave. However, lately they have been making a lot of mistakes with my order. I have had to go back down 3 times in the last month or so because of the mistakes in my food order. I always try to call first to report the error but when the call center tries to redirect my call all I get is an automated voice and continued ringing (which I get cause sometimes they can be busy). I always just end up driving down there, while I am still on hold. Also if anyone from the call center reads this, please stop calling me ma'am when you're addressing me on the phone! Idk how many times I have to keep repeating "I am a guy" on the phone. Anyway, now for today's error, I did get an apology from the assistant manager, which is not something I ever got on the other times I had to drive back down. I am very zippys out at the moment, so I probably won't go back anytime soon. However, my advice to anyone who is going to the zippys in Mililani: Please learn from my mistakes!
