Love love love Tina she's usually always at the front! Great smile and aloha spirit. Amazing terry, beef, and chicken plates, as well as their sandwiches. However the Pho broth is not really happening for me considering I really love pho and have tried many places on island. It's very convenient because it's close to my house so that's what keeps me coming back. As well as the customer service! Other things are pretty good, but just the pho is a little meh and more than most times the chicken pho is always tough and hard to chew. More than likely way overcooked.

They Really made major cut backs on the combination Ban Mi, very dry, more bread than everything else in the sandwich, this is literally the size of my hand and I'm only 5'6. Portion wise $12.00 is not even worth driving there. I'm sure there's better Ban Mi up the road.

Had lunch here. They're very fast, even though they have a lot of foot traffic. Got the ba-Le chicken and garlic shrimp combo. I loved the garlicky shrimp flavor. The chicken was also tender. My son enjoyed the chicken as well. It wasn't too saucy/spicy for the kiddo.

    String in my sandwich

Been looking for a good bahn mi spot for lunch and I saw Bale and remembered the good ole college days. Lemongrass chicken is always a safe go to so I decided to get it. Yes -just as I remember it to be just slightly more expensive. Service is quick for to go. They're good for dine in too. I was disappointed with something - there was a string in my sandwich. That's not sanitary... I don't know if I'd return again despite the overall flavor being good.

Always a smiling face greets you when you walk in, have been coming here since they opened (years). You have all your Vietnamese cuisine to choose from: Tasty Pho noodle dishes (vegan, beef, chicken, etc.) I love how they prepare their Bahn Mi sandwiches with pate and head cheese. The dining area is clean and the table tops have all your utensils that you may need (chopsticks, forks, spoons) and all the accouterments you may need to enhance you dining experience. So Ono you know !!! Eat to live, Live to eat !!!

Okinawan Sweet Potato Tapioca - so friggin good!

Nowadays, I just go there just for their sweet potato tapioca. It's soooo good! It has nice chunks of perfectly cooked sweet potatoes. They also pack it up nicely for takeout.

I came to realize that every Pho restaurant I try is always spot on with fast service. This place gets really packed during lunch time, but they turn tables quick. It's a cute restaurant that sits maybe 40-50 people. I'm surprise that there was only one person handling phone orders, taking walk-in orders, cleaning tables, and re-filling drinks. Talk about multitasking! The cooks also help out by delivering the food to your table. Their broth is so good and the spring rolls are perfect! I left satisfied! Only thing is the AC needs to be put on blast lol. Eating hot soup in a full restaurant can get muggy.

    5 - Spring Roll Vermicelli
    Ruby S.

I've been here twice, once for dine in and another time for take out. My fave is number 5 - Spring Roll Vermicelli. Entree is full to the brim with portions that are just right. Able to taste edible, fresh ingredients, crunchy, savory, vinegary, salty, and sweet in the comfort of restaurant and home. Delicious! In the short time that I waited for my order, if you stop by often enough, a younger female worker will remember your name and order. When a worker establishes and develops a rapport with customers, business will eventually have repeat customers. Casual and roomy ambience with few round and rectangular tables for dine in. Many meal options of numbers with names and photos of food, desserts, and beverages.

When I asked the young guy at the counter, his face lit up and he said, no question, order the misoyaki! The idea that a teenager or 20-something dude could light up and be animated about the food blew me away! His recommendation was PERFECT! It was a delightful dish that's been decribed by other reviewers. The fish was perfectly cooked; moist and flavorful. The corn hijiki was delicious. The highlight was the Japanese quick pickled cucumber slices. They were slightly crisp and super flavorful. I couldn't have asked for anything more in this dish. It was outstanding! The serving size was big enough to split and feed us amply.. I ordered the Nishime veg to go. When we visited Japan last year, I became a huge fan of root veg simmered in a dashi soy broth. I adore burdock and lotus roots. This had good flavor although sweeter than I would have preferred, and the veg was way too soft. However, it was a large portion for $10.50 and tasted healthy and heart warming. Ambiance? Most people are ordering take-out here although there are several tables at which to eat. The place is immaculate with no dusty decor. The origami cranes hanging from the ceiling is a lovely touch. We enjoyed hanging out and eating here. Even though I live in Waikiki, I would totally come back here as the food and service is that good!

Great food, service and atmosphere, and I'd definitely eat there again!…read more My husband and I went a little after 7pm and there was only 1 party seated outside, and 1 inside so we were seated right away. More groups came in after us, and there was a full staff so I think they must get pretty busy for dinner. We ordered the Spicy Ahi Donburi ($18) and the Hellfire wings ($20). We both grew up eating spicy food and tend to find spicy dishes pretty mild when we eat out, but we were impressed with these items! He was very pleased with his donburi and said that he thinks it was the spiciest ahi he's ever had. The ghost pepper sauce for the Hellfire Wings was a stand out for us, and we got a to-go box for the last wings just to take the sauce home with it. We spent a little more than we usually do, but we were expecting this and looking for a change from our usual spots. Overall, it was a great experience and I hope we'll be back sometime soon.

Our server was ok, just didn't seem like she enjoyed her job that day. And that makes a difference. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, cause that's what we do. I liked the club sandwich. Loved the crispy fries and tots! Really good fried noodles and the teri beef was good too! The cookies and cream brulee was interesting. But the Yuzu cheesecake was laughable! Such a small piece surrounded by large portions of toppings. Jeri: We're all going to share that? Overall, the rest of the food was good. They do have sushi later in the early evening, so maybe next time, we'll come up for that. But I'm not going to use my "5 iron to drive" up here anytime soon.

I have 2 favorites -- Tuesday & Thursday.   I eat it practically every week and you'd never guess when you see it! Tuesday is the BBQ Bowl -- You get ypur choice of meat, rice, and a side (banchan). I always get the smoke meat with pickled onion on rice. The smoked meat has plenty smoked taste, just enough fat, and it's not tough (you know what I mean).  The pickled onion is the perfect compliment!   Love the bite and the vinegar taste -- cuts though and brings it all together!   They give you quite a bit in the bowl.  Definitely enough to make me smile!    Again ---- $6.00!!!!! Thursday is another winner in my book.   It's noodle day!!!  I used to get the Mega which had everything in it.   It was a special that they had at the beginning but it's been discontinued.  I think the only one I'm not too crazy about is the curry.   I know some like it -- but having watery curry with noodles is just not me.   The rest are pretty good.   They warm up the noodles right there and add all the goodies on top.  It's take out so they give you the hot broth in another container ---- perfect so your noodles don't get soggy!   I think it's a great 'buy and eat later' meal! I think the only negative is that sometimes the parking lot is very, very full.  If you go early it's not too bad.    The rest of the days they have kalua pig burrito, nachos, and the $6/lb food bar Friday.   With all the prices on everything going UP, UP, UP, it's so nice that we can have a good and satisfying meal for $6.00.    Thank you Foodland -- Food, Family, and Friends!!!
