    Hamburger steak plate
    Bob S.

The food is good, especially if you're super hungry. We did the take out side in Ewa rather than tip for full service. The extra $6 saved can be used in the gas tank these days. The downside of takeout was no mashed potatoes are available and I couldn't order a side salad with my hamburger steak plate which I found odd. I made it clear I was willing to pay the $5.50 but she apologized and said sorry it's just not available. But nonetheless all 4 golfers were happy with their meals. And the ambiance is nice and cool as well as clean.

We came here for a light lunch. We shared a Korean fried chicken with chili plate and got an extra Mac salad. The chicken was surprisingly good. And there was plenty for the two of us. Well done Zippy's!

Zippy's offers comfort food at its best. It is a place for locals to come back to and always crave for whenever locals are away from the islands. The OG plate for me is the Fried Chicken and Chili. The chicken pieces and portion size may have gotten smaller but the taste and quality is still high rate. And yes live everything else, the prices also went up. Love the service by Aunties. Always warm, welcoming Aloha!

Local break... Filled with all the plate lunch and comfort food that we all love is found at Zippy's their famous Chili (bean less for me) along with their fried chicken and saimin is what many come for but reason for those that do return my vary for me is a place that it provides that and so much more. Dine in service for those that just want to relax and enjoy the comfy booths but for me the fast food counter for a quick pick up and to just chill at my own pace. Today is the spaghetti plate that's $12.99 which has insanely has gotten much smaller and to call it regular looks what used to be the mini plate size. There was more sauce than pasta perhaps it's for the garlic bread to scoop up for those that are hungry but the plate itself was enough for me. Fundraising I do have at times from kids do keep my coming back along with their zipcoin program which already has earned me enough for a reward...now that's ono ;) Thank you!

We walked in, scanned rhe QR code as prompted, and waited to be seated. The place was moderately empty, yet we felt like ghosts.. So we waited another 10 min before a waitress said someone will help you in a bit. Another 10 min go by (same same) we figured screw that, we left!

I came to Zippys because folks had recommended it however sadly I wished I had saved my money and ZIPPED past Zippys. I ordered the Korean fried chicken and I expected crispy, hot chicken. Instead I got chunks of what looked like day old soggy chicken that lacked flavor. It came with rice that was bland and mac salad, which I could only eat one bite of as it was full of onions. Also got rice & chili - it was more rice than chili and was extremely dry. I also got a brownie however it was dry and tasted like it had been sitting up there for a few days. The lilikoi I received was light and tasted like water to which I had to go back and ask the guy to please taste the lilikoi and give me his feedback to which he said "taste like it's watered down" although he said he just changed the syrup. He was kind enough to fix it however at this point I was just frustrated as if I had gone through the drive thru I would have been stuck with this. Even after fixing it, I can say I've had better. So to all of those who recommended Zippys, y'all fired!

Ordered an online order, a very convenient and fast process! Got the zip pac, beef stew, and meat loaf with the gravy separate. Everything was amazing except for the gravy. I think they gave me the poultry gravy instead. I didn't mind until I tasted the poultry gravy. The gravy was saltier than usual. It was a good thing I asked for the gravy to be separated.

    There it is!

Dinner in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii... My aunty needed dinner. My cousins suggested Zippy's because it's near to their house, and they hadn't had any of the local fast food recently. Okay! I just followed GPS and found Zippy's next to Don Quijote. The traffic pattern is simple - one way in and one way out and around the building. The free parking is all along the perimeter of the restaurant. Inside, the clean, bright environment seems like it was renovated because it had a modern portal that keeps phone orders warm. The layout was straightforward: dining-in on the left, takeout counter on the right, and bakery in-between the two. I got one of the Specials of the Day: Furikake Miso Salmon Salad. The warm salmon was delicious with a slightly crisp, flavorful outer layer on the moist, tender fish filet. The salad was made from fresh tomatoes, greens, and cucumber slices! My cousins and aunty got beef stew with rice, Teri burger with fries, and chili frank plate. Everyone was happy... especially since service was quick and courteous!

Zippy's is one of those places that you'll always go back to no matter the sky rocketed prices and mediocre food. The prices are unreal, nearly $5 for a apple napple...are you kidding me? Nope, it is pricey! Ordered the zip pac and it was $20+ some change. The chicken doesn't taste the same. Was just okay. It's just really sad to see how it's not even worth it anymore. What you pay and what you get..it is sad. My cousin ordered the club sandwich and brahhh the bread was papa'a. The chef tried to hide um in the middle of the sandwich, hello we can still see um. We told aunteh Evelyn but she just laughed. We laughed too cause dat was a joke, to serve something like that? And not do anything about it. 'Auwe is right. Zippy's Waipahu..come on can do better yea~~~

Dear Zippy's, You have again disappointed me. This time at your Waipahu location. Because I LOVE your Zipster Rewards, I still have hope for you. You will no longer be my first stop, but instead will be my last resort stop. If you are also going to raise prices, recommend raising the bar on the quality of your food as well. Small orange juice. Why or why it is in a kiddy water cup? You've got to be kidding? It's basically a 3 oz. cup. Chili loco moco with EXTRA chili. Where was the EXTRA chili? 3/4 of the bowl was rice. Hamburger steak loco moco - The over easy egg was cooked to done. imagine my husband's look of disappointment when he poked the yolk with his fork expecting it to drizzle down his rice. And, 3/4 of rice in the bowl. He was not a happy camper. The only item was on point was the club house sandwich and fries. Thumbs up. Great customer service by our waitress. She was very attentive and friendly.

From the moment we walked in, we were immediately greeted and sat down. It was quiet and very peaceful, which I am a HUGE fan of. I hate being in loud overcrowded places so this was already very appealing to us. After reviewing their menu, we were impressed by the choices and the prices. I ordered the loco moco and my boyfriend ordered the Famous fried rice omelette, along with a side of banana pancakes. The food came out within 10 minutes maybe less and the portions were massive! I'm quite picky when it comes to loco mocos because most places don't make them well enough. Usually the friend rice is plain, the patty is overcooked and the gravy is flavorless. HOWEVER, the fried rice was incredible to start, the patty literally melted in my mouth and the gravy was flavored very well and had the perfect amount of salt. If I'm being honest, that was the best loco moco I've eaten at a restaurant ever! My boyfriend's omelette was super good, he had the same fried rice I did and the egg was cooked perfectly. Pancakes were an absolute chefs kiss. I'm a huge sucker for Dennys pancakes over ihop and these pancakes blew Dennys out the door. On top of the food being perfect, the customer service was so good. They never missed a refill, they gave us their house made kimchee to try and WOW! (They sell it in 12oz tubs too) The workers were so so so kind and to top it off they gave us cookies to take home! Not to mention, we only spent $55 for everything we ordered! Great pricing if you ask me. I have not had such a great experience anywhere in a while so this just made my day! I pray blessings on blessings to the people who work here and own the restaurant! I can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu!

Fast Forward to this past weekend, the Husband and I wanted a simple breakfast after the gym and Rocky's had popped into my head. Definitely a staple in the Waipahu community, this cozy coffee shop sits on Waipahu Depot Street right outside of the Waipahu Festival Market. The area can get ridiculously busy so if you can, park on the street instead of in the Lot. You will have a hard time getting in and out once the surrounding Businesses open. I'm assuming where you're sitting will determine the type of Service you get. We sat at the Counter, and while we were very entertained with watching them cook orders, we were a bit neglected by the Staff, while the parties at the regular tables were presented with friendlier and more patient Servers. We waited over 15mins to get our order taken and since I guess they thought we were regulars they kept rushing to take our orders while we weren't given Menu's. We pulled the Menu up on Yelp lol. Food was standard. I really loved the fried rice! but the Hash was passable, it was too mushy for my liking. Also, our order of pancakes came 20mins after we finished eating, I wish i were kidding, We kept trying to flag down Aunty to cancel but she was very frazzled cooking, taking orders, and filling orders so we just waited. At the end we spent $60 including tip and left with a Hoo-Hum experience. Although I know for certain I just don't have the greatest of luck with this place, I am so happy they are still around and very much thriving! Places like this, that make Hawai'i so great are slowly shutting their doors so I do have a very great appreciation for their hard work and resilience through the many years.

She ordered the chop steak - I thought tasted ok, but it was seasoned heavier than my mom would like. Portion was right for the price. I got their signature Loco Moco burrito - SAD. It was $20, majority rice and mac salad, no meat. I needed a knife to cut the burrito in half, there was no counterperson or anyone available to ask for a knife, so I kind of looked around their register area and found a random one on the side, cut the burrito in half, DEFINITELY NOT how they showed it on TV, if the counterperson came back, I probably would have asked for them to swap it out. We were sitting for about 25 mins - nobody came back to the counter? If it wasn't for the counterpersons unfriendly attitude I was planning to buy their signature dessert to go, but I was turned off by the whole experience AND he didn't come back out anyways until literally I was throwing our containers away. He didn't greet us. Thank us. Ask how everything was. Or say anything when we were leaving.
