The omelette and potatoes was decent but nothing to brag about especially with the steak being burnt and barely able to cut . What's that about, clearly you can tell whoever cooking don't know how to cook steak properly. The paper plates are so cheap it's ridiculous that y'all think it's okay to use. I was able to stick my finger thru it in the middle of eating, I didn't even finish my plate. For years I walked past Koa (multiple locations) because I refuse to eat off the cheap plates they provide when they know and I know they can provide better but today I go okay I'll try it let me see what I'm missing umm not a damn thing. I made a mistake of just ordering a short stack which you get two huge pancakes. I could barely finish one of them. The staff were all really friendly, and the place was really clean. Every time I come home my parents enjoy this establishment and I can see why. For Hawai'i it's pretty affordable and it's good. Our last visit my dad ordered a short stack buttermilk pancake (3 pieces) for about $6 & I got the corn beef hash. Two meals for less than $20 is pretty rare for me in Hawai'i so that's a plus. The short stack was a pretty good size for the price. I was a little bummed that my plate was 3/4 rice and 1/4 corn beef hash. The 2 over medium eggs covered all the rice so I had a good amount of eggs and rice but I wish there were more of the corn beef hash. Other than that the service was great & we were able to find parking right away so that's always a plus as well. The ambiance was just ok. Nothing that made me go oooh... that's pretty, or cool. Came here because we wanted to taste some crêpes! It was a good hour or two before they closed and they were already mopping and closing up. It was only noon Ish and I believe they closed at 2 PM - Just felt kind of awkward sitting there, but no biggie, we tried not to leave a mess as well. Coming back home after 15 years I had to check out this spot before we left to vegas. We ordered the koa burrito that has Portuguese sausage, fried potatoes eggs and cheese. We also got the make your own moco hamburger steak eggs with fried rice. Regular pancakes and the Trio which comes with Portuguese sausage bacon and eggs and a side of snow stack pancakes. The flavors are always on point. The price is reasonable, there is a good amount of selections on their menu. The service is also so quick. Great customer service super friendly. Had an early test at Queen's West and had to hang out til eastbound traffic dies down. We were starving so we stopped here. It's located in a small shopping center with American Savings bank, New Hope Church, L&L Drive in and other businesses. You order at the front and then sit at a table. Because it was so early, there were lots of tables open but I can imagine it can get busy. The menu had lots of choices of breakfast type items. I had the plain crepes and hubby had the corn beef hash and rice. The crepes weren't bad-not too sweet and went well with the slices of lemon squeezed on. When I ordered the staff took my order quickly and was friendly.the food came out in a decent time. I waited about 15mins or a lil less for my food to be brought to my table. This was a nice breakfast spot for my family and I. We happen to be in Waipahu servicing our car, so needed a quick stop that wasn't too long. We came here, and it wasn't busy at all. There was lots of seating available and it seemed clean. Had to go up to order our food before finding a table, so it was nice that we paid first, that way could dig out right after we were done eating. They gave us a number to place on the table, and once our food was ready about 10-15 mins after, they brought the food to us. Food was good. Again it's another place that I remember eating when I was younger and the food was just as great as I remember. The portions are always so big and filling, and I feel like it's well worth my money. The fried rice was good too, and I think made the breakfast I had just a bit better than regular white rice. Everything was well cooked and I have no complaints. I don't know if it was just an off day or maybe the time we went was earlier or later than usual but it wasn't really busy, which worked out on our favor. Weekends are meant to be relaxing but life got other plans for you sometimes. Saturday breakfast/brunch was to be at Koa Pancake House in Waipahu. Walked in around 9am and it was packed. Okay, maybe takeout then Our order was taken and paid for at 9:31am. Around 10:01am I walked up to ask if our order was ready yet. Almost done, so I ordered a cup of coffee. I was sipping on water already. Finally we got our order 10 minutes later. I'm really hungry now and tables opened up so we decided to sit down and dine in. Prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. It's a solid 4 out of 5 stars because over 30 minutes wait for two breakfast orders is too long in my book. I also got the corned beef hash, on the side. Crispy edges and the the ratio to potatoes and corned beef is surprisingly even. Very good! The bacon and eggs were regular nothing special about it. It also came with 3 pancakes I upgraded to whipped strawberries. It was OK. The strawberries aren't fresh. Its cooked down with sugar and cooled off. (So it seemed) Would I come back? Probably not. Was I satisfied? Definitely! Overall it did fill us up for breakfast and everything tasted O.K! Parking is shared with many other businesses in the area so pretty easy to get parking here. Service is good but food takes way tooooo long to be made. Expect on average a 30 to 40 minute wait for simple items like Portuguese sausage eggs. Curious as to how long the wait is for the Kalbi and eggs. Order places at 10:51am. Received hash browns and pancakes (ordered regular pancakes, the order was made with a dirty grill or dirty spatula because bottom pancake was mixed with blueberry's), roughly 10 to 15 minutes later. Rest of my order arrived to the table at 11:27am. Eggs ordered over medium was basically raw (egg whites running clear on plate). Didn't want to risk sending it back and waiting another 20 minutes for eggs, so just scrapped them to the side of another plate and covered it with napkins. Third time at this location and while the food for the most part is pretty good, it's definitely not worth the possible 45 minute wait for sausage and eggs. Pack your patience if you decide to dine here EVEN if it's take out, be prepared to wait extended times for basic items. Overall, solid 2 star as the front of house staff is really nice, the kitchen definitely needs some or a lot of help. read more

Several months ago I visited this place for the very first time. (I normally go to the one in Kapolei). That was my first and last time here. This place was not hygienic at all. A lady worker was coughing and coughing and didn't wear a mask. On top of that she was coughing onto her hand while she was working on the utensils. Streak and Eggs for Breakfast. Koa Pancake House is located in the Waipahu Town Center. There's ample of parking in the vicinity. Depending on when you go, parking can get very busy, especially on Sunday when there neighboring church are in service. The dining area is a first come first serve basis so there can be days when you won't be able to dine in due to it being busy. I don't go to Koa Pancake House often, but when I do, there's only one thing that I do order. Their Kalbi and Eggs!! This is my go to and an upgrade to their fried rice. I like that their kallbi is grilled to perfections and still has the grill marks on them. It's a very hefty dish and can last me the whole day. They give you three slabs of kalbi, two eggs of your desired style and white rice. Like me, you can also upgrade to their fried rice. Koa Pancake House also serves up, Pancakes, hence the name. Their stack of pancakes aren't that expensive even with a stack of 5 pancakes. Definitely a place for pancake lovers. They also offer a variety of omelette, burger/sandwiches, crepes and local favorites. They have a dish for anyone who's looking for some good dinner style food. We stopped at Kona Pancake House to grab breakfast before heading to the airport. I loved that you can order online and pick up. We ordered just as we were finishing up at the Donki and pick up was ready when we arrived. I had the Mac. Nut pancakes and they were solid pancakes. I used the online ordering system. I placed my order at 9a for a pickup order at 9:30a. This give me ample time to make the pickup since I was driving over from the waikiki area. When my oder was confirmed, it notified me that my order would be ready for pickup at 9:30a. I didn't order much, just 4 plates, 2 were the same exact, 1 pancake and an omelet order. I didn't get to the Koa's till about 9:35a. I'm anticipating that my order would be done, packaged and all I do is grab and go!. When arriving they had a handful of customers dining in. Not busy as other Koa locations I've been to. So I get to the counter, ask for my order and nope....not ready!! It's now 9:40a and was told it will be ready in 20min. I'm irritated and asked the cashier, "does it make a difference that the order was placed with a time expectation on it?" She says "No". Even more irritated I asked again, "so it doesn't matter that we asked for the food to be ready at a certain time??" She hesitantly said No again! So 20min it is, I walked out and waited in my car. I figure the computer system would then notify me that my food is now ready, cause it's way past 9:30a and now the 20min is up. I walk back in there and stand in the pickup order line, no one acknowledges me that I'm back so I wait patiently. It's now a few minutes till 10a. A girl finally looks out to us standing and waiting so I then asked her about my order. She checks on it and says they are still working on it. I told her...its been an hour, how much longer. Another 5min, 10min? How long is "they are still working on it?" She yells out to the cooks and comes back saying it'll be 5min more. I informed her that's its been an hour already and this wait time is ridiculous. While standing around waiting the 5min, another customer in line who heard my frustration told me, she made a phone order for some eggs and pancakes and it's been over an hour as well. Really!!? Does it really take that long?! Its now after 10a and I finally get my order. I wished the other customer still waiting, a good luck, and hope she gets her food soon. Very disappointed and definitely will not order online nor retu to this Koa location! No apologies for the wait at all. This COVID take out experience was great! I ordered online which was so easy. Made my selection which was the Vingados (I spelled that wrong lol) soft scrambled with potatoes. When ordering online you may select who you would like your eggs and you may choose your side. The menu is quite large and difficult to choose because I wanted to eat it all! The squares of marinated pork was so soft, crispy and delicious! The eggs were moist and very soft. The potatoes crispy, yum! So much food for the price of $10.95. Very casual place with decent breakfast at reasonable prices. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you on paper plates. The guava lava mochi waffle ($7.95) sounded interesting but it tasted just like a normal waffle with a sweet syrup on top. I couldn't discern any chewy mochi in it and the syrup did not taste like guava. In the end just tasted like a basic waffle so that was a little disappointing. The corned beef hash ($10.50) was fine. Exactly what you'd expect. First we spent almost $80 dollars for breakfast for the family my husband comes home starts sorting the food and my pancakes are missing. He tries to call them and the call does not ring goes to a automated greeting which says something like "Phone not set up to receive voice messages" so my husband has to drive back to the Waipahu Koa Pancake house to show them the forgotten item on the receipt. He tells them about their phone not working and he gets an answer of "I'm sorry" he gets the pancakes and brings it home.
